The Space:

Newly updated, spacious home with six bedrooms and five baths that accommodates up to 16 people! This low-country home is the perfect getaway for large families, golf groups, and friends! 21 Cartgate is located in the gated community of Palmetto Dunes Resort. The resort area features miles of white sand beach, three world-class golf courses, and guest fitness and tennis centers. Canoe and kayak through the intricate 11-mile lagoon system or relax with shopping, dining, and kids activities and entertainment. Lushly landscaped and located on a gently curving street nestled between the George Fazio and Arthur Hills golf courses, this home is an easy 10-minute walk from the sun-drenched beaches of Hilton Head Island! You can walk, bike, or take the Palmetto Dunes Buggy (in season April - September) to the beach, just a 10-minute easy walk away!



Bedding and Bathroom Configurations:

On the first level, the spacious main bedroom includes a 65-inch, flatscreen, smart TV with a large private bathroom and a roomy walk-in shower. A second bedroom has a 55-inch flatscreen TV and shares the hallway bathroom which includes a shower/tub combo. Head up a short flight of stairs to the second level to find a bedroom with a 55-inch flatscreen TV and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. The guest bedroom includes a 55-inch smart flatscreen TV and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second main bedroom features a 55-inch flatscreen TV and private access to a shared bathroom with a shower. The last guest bedroom includes a gaming area with a 55-inch flatscreen TV and seating perfect for kids! (This bedroom has access to the shared bathroom down the hallway.)

If the pool or spa does not reach your desired temperature but is still warming, refunds will not be given. Please note there is a five-day minimum to heat the pool.

Beautiful Family Vacation Home!!!

We have stayed in this home multiple times and it’s perfect for our family! The home is a close bike ride to the beach, beautiful interior/kitchen, pool, always clean and ideal location on the island. Highly recommend!!!!

house was nice, but the furniture was a bit dated. Small tears in living room sofa, dining room chairs were creaky (I expect one or more to break soon when someone sits on it).Also one bedroom (second floor) was unusable due to heat (AC on everywhere but that room, which had warm air blowing through the vent).

Perfect for our families

We were on a family beach trip with four families total and this house was great! The bedrooms were bigger than expected and the individual spaces were awesome. The pool and backyard were exactly as pictured and the pool was wonderful. Living spaces were comfortable and big for our needs. The only thing I would tell future guests, the house was a little ways from the beach itself. However, the Palmetto Dunes amenities were awesome!

Beat vacation house ever

My family and I loved this house. Such a beautiful scenery and so much to do. From the pool to walking around the neighborhood or on bike going to the shops and restaurants trust me you wont get board. Also the beach is in walking distance. I 100% would come back every year and recommend this place.

2025 family vacation, great house!

This house was fantastic! It was very clean upon arrival. Plenty of room for all adults and children. The pool was so nice, and was spacious for our whole family. No complaints on the house, you will love it. The location of the house from the beach was about a 10 min bike ride to public access. No bathroom can be a problem. That's on palmetto dunes. I would recommend this house to others and have. I would stay here again. Thanks for sharing your beautiful beach house.

Celebrating in Hilton Head

The house was very spacious and relaxing. The space was very adequate for our family of 10. We celebrated my mother’s 80th with dinner out “Wise Guys” was great and back home with stories and laughs. We were able to relax after my daughter’s graduation ceremony at USCB. We enjoyed the pool and walking down to the beach.

Great Home Overall!

This is our second time staying at this home. It’s perfect for large groups and the backyard is its own private oasis. Our only complaint is the pool apparently hadn’t been cleaned or maintained in a quite a while so we lost 3 days of our 7 waiting on it to be corrected.

Fun time

13 of us enjoyed the week on HHI. The house & pool were clean. The only thing is that another set of sheets should be provided for people sleeping on the sofa. Pillow could be updated as some of us had to make a run to Sams . But overall nice home. We probably won’t rent this particular house again as the kitchen was too small.

Nice place but poor service.

The house was very clean and nice but there was no broom to clean up sand and spills. Also we could not use the television in one of the rooms because the remote was broken. Called and messaged with Vacasa and they assured me that a local team was working on it but nothing ever happened and no one contacted me at any point to apologize for their poor response. Thankfully these were minor issues but customer service could have been better.

Nice house missing a few things

The layout of the house is perfect with multiple big bedrooms and plenty of space for multiple families to spread out. There are only a few things missing from being 5 star. 1) grill was dirty and propane despot being told it was gas. That said they were trying to convert it but the lack of cleaning led to a bunch of grease and issues. The bedroom above th garage and the garage have an odor of sweat and dampness. We alerted via email but never got a response. There are no beach towels which is a big miss for a house with a pool and near the beach. The overall property was very nice and comfortable 4.5 stars

House is nice but was not clean

The house itself is nice and about a 10-15 minute walk to the beach as stated. Good space for larger groups or families. We were very disappointed at the cleanliness of the home. The floors were dirty (people’s socks and feet turning black) and showers were moldy. The house felt hot and there were signs posted we couldn’t lower the temp below 75. After we asked about this we were told we could lower the temp slightly. They shocked the pool but didn’t tell us until after our kids were swimming in it so we couldn’t use it for the first 24 hours. A few minor things broke that were addressed by the property manager quickly. Neighbors called in noise complaints just for small kids playing in the pool during the day (sometimes when we weren’t even outside too). We won’t stay here again

Major plumbing issues

This is a nice house but the plumbing issues made our stay terrible. 2-3 inches of raw sewage flooding the floor, kitchen sink didn't drain, garbage disposal non-functional, shower pressure very low, trash overflowing from prior guest. We spent a day and a half personally cleaning up all the sewage back up since property management was not available (storm closing). It certainly was a terrible health hazard which ruined our stay. Half of our family up and left instead of staying. We got no support from Vascasa nor the local office. They ultimately offered a very small adjustment which was a slap in the face. The condition of the unit did not justify the cost of the rental.

All good but

The house itself is amazing. It had more than everything we needed and was very clean. Depending on how long you are staying (we were there for a week) bring extra garbage bags and toilet paper. The backyard is the opportunity area for improvement. Upon arrival, the pool was green and clearly not vacuumed since there were a lot of worms. We got there on a Saturday and it wasn’t cleared up until Wednesday. The barbecue also needed cleaning. Specifically, in the bed of the barbecue. After a few minutes of preheating, it turned into a massive black smoke bonfire. The confusing part is that both of the issues do not take a lot of time to prevent (probably 30 minutes). Throw one bag of shock in the pool the day before guests arrive. Empty the bed of the barbecue, it doesn’t need to be entirely cleaned; just safe and hassle free. All things considered, I would not hesitate booking this place again.

Decent house with issues

The house is ok but we encountered a number of issues. First, the cleaning crew arrived at 4 pm when we were to check in and we sat in our car in 95 degree weather waiting for an hour to get in. I called about the issue, was told I would get a return call but never did. It was clear the cleaning crew did a rushed job since the floors were dirty and we found candy and other wrappers all over the house. In addition, the pool was dirty on arrival (eventually cleaned though) and the internet and cable did not work well at all (cable guy came and fixed cable but internet was awful the whole time). Lastly, the garbage was not picked up and there were maggots all around the trash. When we told the “house manager” about it when she came while the cable guy was there, she said “this is not my area”. The house does have a decent layout but was overpriced for what it was (I’ve stayed in nicer places for less money). But the issues were disappointing to say the least. As was the total lack of response to our complaints.

Wonderful vacation home!

This conveniently located and well appointed home worked out exceptionally well for our family vacation of 9 adults and a small infant. The layout was well suited for function and relaxation. Located centrally within Palmetto Dunes, there was only a short way to go to the beach and tennis/pickle ball center. We especially enjoyed the privacy of the backyard and the pool. Having two refrigerators was a plus. The property managers were responsive to the couple of issues we had. Look forward to going back!
