Perfect for an outdoorsy retreat, Wildwood Cottage offers a classic cabin feel while still having the modern touches of a luxury home. From the natural wood accents to the wood-burning fireplace, this home will have you slipping into the mountain mindset in no time. Whether you spend all day hiking, biking, visiting town, or heading to the nearby state parks, this magical retreat will welcome you home with open arms. Everyone will love hanging out on the back deck with a favorite drink in hand, yet the group's chef will be more than willing to whip up a tasty meal in the fully equipped kitchen, complete with a gas range, dishwasher, and modern appliances. When you really want to indulge in a relaxing evening, slip into your bathing suits and soak under the stars in the private hot tub. When it is time to hit the hay, two bedrooms are accessed from the main living space, and a third bedroom is accessed through a separate entrance near the hot tub on the lower deck.

THINGS TO KNOW
Riverside County regulations prohibit any 'party' lighting (outdoor luminaires shall not blink, flash, or rotate) and will hold guests liable for any 'light trespass' on surrounding properties.
Wood is not provided for the fireplace.
There are Ring security cameras around the property; however, these cameras are not active while the home is occupied.

Indoor-Outdoor Perfection

This home is incredibly well-appointed for a weekend away. The indoor details are exquisite and the outdoor decks (emphasis on the plural) are expansive. Not to mention the master bed is a dream! Would happily stay again.

Cozy, private and accessible location

Our group of four adults—family and friends- had a wonderful stay at the Wildwood Cottage. Even though the furniture was rather worn, the cabin was clean upon arrival. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils but lacked basic needs like salt and pepper—so be sure to take what you need from home or expect to pay too high prices at the country store. Fortunately, we took all of our food needs and condiments. We enjoyed all the amenities, including the hot tub and the outdoor grill on the expensive patio. Overall, we couldn’t have been happier!

Great private location and fabulous wood burning fireplace! Kitchen a tad small, but it worked. Only negative is I would paint the address numbers a bright color like white so you can easily see it. Cheers!

Great for family weekend away

This place was comfortable and clean. It had everything we needed for a weekend trip. My family enjoyed the board games and my kids enjoyed the TV room with the pull out bed. The outdoor space and deck were beautiful and while it can be cold in the mountains the heaters did their jobs. There is plenty of fridge space for the food and drinks you bring. The kitchen and cupboards were fully stocked with plates, cups, pots and pans and and thing else you would imagine you would need to make simple meals. We would come back here again!

Perfect family getaway.

We love idyllwild and this property had everything we needed games, a hot tub, a fire pit, comfy beds, plenty of space and peace and quiet. My only complaint is check out is 10AM and you are expected to have all cleaned before you leave. With a family of five we didn’t even have time to eat breakfast on day of checkout. A 11:00am checkout would have been a lot better.

Pre thanksgiving getaway

Warm and cozy. Beautiful property. Lots of stairs, typical for the mountains. When I booked, I hadn’t realized that one small room and bathroom was not accessible from the main cabin. But we made it work. Party of 5; Grandparents, mom and 2 littles under 10yrs old.

Wonderful Mountain Cabin

Beautiful mountain home with an Adirondack vibe. Very comfortable, great decor. Comfortable beds and linens. The huge, expansive deck provides ample space to enjoy the trees, sit by the fire, hot tub, and dine al fresco. The fireplace was fantastic at night - very cozy. Kitchen is small, but functional - we ate dinners out so can't speak to cooking full meals there. Will definitely book this home again, it was just lovely, relatively private, and peaceful. One note: home is at the top of the street, addresses are a bit confusing there - just keep going to the top of hill and house is on right next to fence that is on the street.

Cozy, comfy, delightful!

We loved every moment of our stay in this very well equipped cabin. The cabin is so cozy and homey we didn’t want to leave to explore as much as we thought we would. We did enjoy the little mountain town of Idyllwild and the friendly locals made us feel welcome. Music and wine at Middle Ridge Winery was not to be missed. The wine grower makes fantastic wine. We met a number of lovely local folks to enjoy the evening with. Strolling through the shops and eating at a few places in Idyllwild added to the pleasure of spending time in this historic little community. Our grandkids were thrilled to have snow for sledding, snowmen, and snowball fights! A warm fire in the fireplace and hot chocolate were just the thing to round out their adventures in the snow. The hot tub was a big hit as well. The owners thought of everything to make us feel at home in their own home away from home.

Great outdoor space

Very cute cabin, with tons of room outdoor to relax. But the cabin needs a deep cleaning. It was very dusty, and there was mice poop everywhere, in the tub, the mantle, the window sill above the bed in the master bedroom, even the bathtub. The kitchen is tiny and cozy, pots and pans all had chipping Teflon so I would suggest bringing your own pots if you want to cook. Watching TV as a family is difficult since the TV is in a lil sideroom. The 3rd bedroom is only accessible from the outside lower deck which was inconvenient. But the hot tub was the highlight of it all.

Check in/out

The check in/out process was extremely efficient and easy. My only feedback is that I was not aware how to check in or check out until very short notice. Perhaps I overlooked how the check in process worked when I booked the cabin but it resulted in me missing a text message prompt to verify I had checked out. We were out of the cabin by 10am however I did not notice the message until 12pm. I was not aware the text message was part of the process, however I had been checking my email for check out institutions instead.

GREAT place to relax and getaway

Loved staying at this cottage. Has to be my favorite so far in Idyllwild This property is beautiful and had that warm woodsy feel. Loved waking up in the master bedroom and my immediate view was trees all around. Although we stayed on one of the hottest weekends, the ACs and fans helped keep us comfortable. The inside of the house was clean and kitchen was well equipped. The towels were fresh and the linens clean. Only minor complaint is that the outside needed some dusting. Spending time outdoors is one of the top reasons to book this house- the decks are beautiful and huge but the furniture was dusty and had webs. Not a deal breaker though. Will definitely be back! One more note- Wish we could bring more people. There's definitely room for more guests. That would be the only reason we'd book elsewhere.

Excellent house and area1

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the "cabin" as we called it. It was just the two of us for a long, relaxing weekend but would have easily accommodated at least six to eight people. (Our adult children were planning to join us for at least one night but morning sickness kept them from making the drive.) Still, it was a luxury experience having that wonderful cabin (and hot tub) to ourselves. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Except for firewood. The picture shows firewood but you will need to buy or bring your own. Otherwise, most everything worked well, especially the room heaters and the hot tub! Very comfortable and large master bedroom. Kitchen is small but has everything we needed. Deck space is fabulous and would accommodate large groups very well. The grounds are beautiful. Overall a wonderful experience--we will definitely rent this cabin again. Thank you!

Info misleading

Info was miss leading. Saying had a/c. Only one wall unit in the back room. Up stairs one didn’t work. Only one working plug in fan. Whole house was too hot to even be in during the day. We did not have hot water. Could not shower. The hot tub would not go down in temp. Thought maybe we would cool off in there. Temp stayed at 106. Back door would not lock. Talking to an automated land lord didn’t help. Booked for three nights only stayed one. Pretty disappointed. With my elderly parents unable to sleep cause of the heat and having an infant was hard.back room bathtub had big inside, look like it was cleaned at all. book at your own risk. Thank you.

Beautiful location and trees!

The Wildwood Cottage was great in some ways and not so great in others! The great things: The trees surrounding the cottage were tall and beautiful - and there are lights at night that light up all the trees and it is gorgeous. The design of the living room windows is very nice! Definitely the woodsy cottage vibe here. The jacuzzi was hot, clean and great! The kitchen/bathrooms were clean, bed we used was very comfortable and looked clean. There is a good amount of space in this well stocked cottage, although the kitchen is tiny. Nice picnic table outside on the deck. There are games and great books and in general a great place to relax. The not so great things: Not easy to find (TIP: go to the top of the street and you will see a burnt orange color fence you park along, number on fence hard to read, no driveway you just park by the fence and then walk down the concrete stairs into the cottage). There are lots of stairs everywhere at this cottage so I wouldn't recommend for toddlers/small children/elderly. The living room furniture was terribly dusty - if you sit in the chairs a huge puff of dust flies around you! The sofa also very musty/dusty. If you have asthma, probably not a good place for you. The living room fan was terribly dirty we noticed (didn't check the others didn't want to know!) The living room furniture definitely needs some updating! There are some very weird placed mirrors in this cottage - above the shower? behind the toilet? Just really weird. The fridge didn't get super cold, but if you turned it up to highest setting it does keep food cold (freezer on the other hand was good with quite a bit of room - drawers style so no big items would fit there). Idyllwild was a beautiful town to visit and this cottage is only about 5 min drive to the main part of town, nice location! PS if you love French fries - check out the Lumber Mill - fantastic fries!
