The property was spacious, clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The owner was extremely courteous and helpful. The location is strategically perfect with respect to LA attractions, and there is convenient shopping and dining in walking distance. I was very pleased, and would stay there again!
We had a great stay at this rental. The space was comfortable, well furnished, and easy to live in. It even had a few toys and books around for our 3-year old and felt very kid friendly. We rented a car, and sometimes had to park as much as a block away, but other times were able to park right outside. All in all, a very easy, great rental. Thanks!
Great two bedroom near it all. Stayed here with my sis and our three boys. Near a lot of cool sites to see like Hollywood, Griffin Observatory, Umiversal Studios, Walk of Fame, etc. Owners are very accommodating. Would definitely stay again and recommend.
I love Silver Lake. Walk a couple blocks from the property and you are in a different world than the hustle and bustle of LA and Hollywood. A couple blocks in the other direction and you are right in the middle of a great commercial district with lots to do day and night. Everything else in the city proper is a short ride away. Love the back sun room breeze and view. Felt safe walking the dog and having our family here with two kids. Hosts were prompt and responsive when appropriate and otherwise let us do our thing. Great value and location if you are in LA for business or pleasure...
Tim actually upgraded us to the 2BR Craftsman cottage in Silver Lake to better accommodate our larger group, which was very thoughtful and appreciated. It was beautiful, in a safe and convenient neighborhood just steps away from coffee shops, restaurants and the farmer's market on Sunset Blvd. Tim was responsive to any questions I had prior to our visit, and gave us detailed directions on how to get in to the house for check-in, which was very easy and convenient, and how to lock up when we checked out. We didn't get to meet them during our stay, as check-in and check-out were self-serve, and we didn't have any need to contact them with any issues, so it was like the house was truly ours for the weekend. We rented a car and didn't have any problem finding a spot on the street. The house was beyond charming and everything was functional and comfortable - we cooked in the kitchen a few times and they had everything we needed to prepare and enjoy the meals (with a gorgeous view of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory out the wall of windows in the kitchen). I would highly recommend this to anyone!
As soon as we opened the front door we felt at home. Tim and Robin have made this house very cosy and clean. The beds were super comfortable and we loved the kitchen and sun porch with the view of the Hollywood sign and the Griffith Observatory in the distance.
Even though we didn't get to meet our hosts we were given clear instructions and Tim was always contactable by phone.
The location was perfect, we were in LA for a week and did not have a car. We walked to the coffee shops, bars and Metro or jump on a bus. The area felt safe and we would definitely recommend it. There are interesting local designer shops in the area which are worth checking out.

This location is good because I have family in Silver Lake where there is a dearth of hotels. It is clean, cozy and simple and I loved having early-morning coffee on the porch, admiring the view of the Hollywood sign and the Observatory. My only suggestion would be to have instructions on how to operated the satellite TV. Thanks, Tim!
This home was exactly as advertised: clean, charming, and comfortable, with easy check in/out and a fantastic location in Silver Lake. When I had a question, Tim was very responsive and helpful. I recommend this place highly and will book again next time!
Great apartment with charming vintage feel and updated amenities.
This is a charming property in a great location. The place has an old-time feel while still offering modern amenities like central air conditioning. We especially liked the enclosed porch off the back bedroom, from which you can see the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory. And the washer and dryer--what a luxury. Parking was easy, and lots of essential services (restaurants and bars!) are within walking distance. We highly recommend this property.
This is a very spacious and clean two bed rooms house in Sliver Lake. It is very close driving distance to West Hollywood, where we went to The Comedy Store. And also easy to get to from the Dodger Stadium. We had a very fun weekend in LA. Thank you for hosting us.
When we arrived at Tim and Robin's Silverlake cottage, we walked through the gate, and it was like walking into a perfect Silverlake hideaway.
The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was remodeled nicely and the view from the sunporch was incredible. I can't recommend this place highly enough.
We stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend this year and had an amazing time. We love this property! It is truly a home away from home for us. We first stayed here in March for the LA Marathon. Robin was super helpful and very easy to get a hold of whenever we had questions. She brought children's books for our kids, a nice welcoming gesture. The house has a nice layout with everything you could need for cooking and feeling at home. Comfy beds, TV and movies to enjoy after kids go to bed. The back enclosed porch with views of surrounding hills and the Hollywood sign is a neat feature. Other visitors were friendly as well and our daughter still talks about a friend she met and played with there.
After staying in March, we came back for one night as we were passing through LA on a road trip just about a month later. Then this fall we decided to spend Thanksgiving in LA. (We live in San Diego.) We had to move rentals in the middle of our trip, a prearranged arrangement due to availability issues and Robin made sure that we had access to put our stuff in the new place before we went exploring for the day. She also let us check in early to one of the rentals at the beginning (a very cute cozy studio/1 bedroom on the ground floor) which was really nice since it was Thanksgiving Day.
One of the other highlights of this rental is the proximity (perfect distance of about 2-3 blocks) walking to many cafes, restaurants, and other retail shops on Sunset. We enjoyed a Mexican place on the corner of Griffith Park Blvd. and Sunset for dinner, an Asian restaurant called Pine and Crane, a bagel/coffee shop, a smoothie shop, a cheese shop, and an ice cream shop. There is even a small little market with fresh produce and other groceries in the same commercial area. We also loved being close to Griffith Park, downtown, and all the various museums LA has to offer.
We'd definitely recommend staying at this rental!
We stayed in this great apartment over Thanksgiving weekend when we came to visit our daughter who has a small place in Los Felix. The apartment is accurately pictured. It was clean, well-maintained and quiet. The owners make it very easy to check in and out. We cooked our Thanksgiving meal there and had all the necessary pots, utensils, dishes, etc. The kitchen and dining area are quite large enough for 6 people. We would definitely stay here again and we would recommend this place without hesitation.

We began restoring buildings in Silverlake in 1997, but it's been a lifelong passion. Tim has a background in set decorating and woodworking. Robin has a background in art history and photography. We use salvaged/eco-friendly building materials, antique furnishings, and green cleaning products whenever possible. We have many years of experience as landlords and hosts, and are known for being responsive, service-minded, and reasonable with pricing and management.
We love this part of Silver Lake because we can walk almost everywhere we need to go, but when we need to drive, the 5, 101, 110, and 134 freeways are very close by. We've always loved the trees, the architecture, and the neighborhood feel of Silver Lake. This building has a 'Tales of the City' vibe to it, which we have worked hard to preserve.
Whether you are interested in architecture, sightseeing, music, food, wine, artisan boutiques, or the outdoors, Silver Lake has all of this and more to offer... we love this unit in particular because it has the convenience of a street level unit with the benefits of top-floor views of the city and hills.
