Come enjoy an urban refuge perched nine floors above the hustle and bustle of the historic core of Los Angeles. A perfect base to explore everything the city has to offer. A unique space full of art and tributes to the notorious Hotel Cecil (it's much nicer, though!). Relax on the private balcony. Hang out at the rooftop pool with beautiful views. Play classic arcade games. Explore all DTLA has to offer. Is there any doubt itâs the coolest loft in downtown?
This is a 500-sf loft-style one-bedroom place (the bedroom is not separated by a wall from the rest of the space) with a full kitchen and bathroom. The location is a historic 100-year-old building once known as the Fifth Street Store that was fully renovated and transformed into lofts about 20 years ago. There's a private balcony and you will have access to all the building's amenities including the rooftop pool. Unlike many other units in the building and the area, this unit does not face the street and is much quieter. The main bed is a queen-size 10" memory foam mattress. There is a spare queen-size air mattress.
Downtown is one of the most interesting, vibrant neighborhoods in Los Angeles, with world class entertainment and cultural offerings as well as extremely colorful, gritty street life that not everyone is comfortable with. This is not Beverly Hills. Please understand this before you book as refunds will not be available on arrival. Parking is available nearby starting at around $10 (I recommend using Spothero, or parking across the street in Pershing Square for $20--prices current as of July 2025). There is no free parking nearby and cars parked illegally will be ticketed and/or towed. Absolutely no parties or events--this can lead to your reservation being canceled with no refund.
This loft was perfect for me and my two best friends. We can into town for a concert at BMO stadium. This was the perfect stay. Roof top pull, markets all around. The host gave such helpful advice for parking!!
The place itself was very nice and clean, the game machine was so cool, the location with all of the homeless and sketchy people outside not so much but we did appreciate the 24/7 security at the door it made us feel better
Mike the host is superb. Communication was on point and transparent and flexible. I had a family emergency come up last minute and Mike did all he could to accommodate my stay. The unit is great as advertised, no complaints. The neighborhood isn't for the weak at heart, but look pass the slum and see the beauty of downtown L.A. I'm definitely keeping this unit on my favorite list for the next in-state getaway. 10 star rating.
Perfect location for my meeting at the LA Convention Center
This location was perfect for my 5-day meeting at the LA Convention Center. I was able to take one 15-minute on-time bus ride door-to-door or a nice 30 minute walk to the Convention Center. The neighborhood has great inexpensive restaurants and the apartment is just blocks from a Whole Foods. Additional positives are that Mike was amazingly responsive, his place is exceptionally clean, and the queen bed was very comfortable. The pullout couch was fine as a bed. The only thing I wish I had know ahead of time was that this is basically a studio apartment with only a curtain between the bedroom and living room and no closet. If you are staying with a roommate, you need to be close friends. Grand Central Market is just a few blocks away and not to be missed!
