Welcome to Aspen Apartment at Woodland Hollow, a comfortable three-bedroom main-level home just steps from Como Lake in Saint Paul. This well-appointed space is ideal for families, small groups, and extended stays.

The home features a full kitchen with bistro nook, a large dining room, a comfortable living room, a full bathroom, and three bedrooms with king and queen beds. There's a small work desk just off the living room, making Aspen a great option for both relaxing stays and work-friendly travel. An additional airbed with linens is available for a small rental fee for groups with up to 7 guests.

Aspen is part of Woodland Hollow, a small cluster of homes on this quiet private cul-de-sac that we host and manage ourselves to provide a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for guests.

Located directly across from the walking and biking paths around Como Lake, the home is minutes from Como Park Zoo & Conservatory, the Minnesota State Fairgrounds, and Como Regional Park. You will also have convenient access to Allianz Field, the University of Minnesota, Regions Hospital, and both Downtown Saint Paul and Downtown Minneapolis.

The main level includes a private front porch and access to the shared backyard with grill, offering space to relax outdoors after a day exploring the city.

The home includes a separate lower-level apartment with its own private exterior entrance. Guests in that space do not share any indoor areas with Aspen.

The property sits along an active train line, which can be seen from the porch.

Free street parking is available directly in front of the home, with additional parking available in the alley behind the property.

We stayed here while in town to visit friends, family and the state fair. Everything was great.

The host was great and responsive. They were helpful and honest in communicating about the possibility that we might be able to check in early. Didn’t end up working out for us to do so, but they were willing to allow it if the cleaning was done in time. The place was very clean and comfortable. There were was only one extra blanket in the entire house & no extra bedding. So, one of our guests had to sleep on the couch with no bedding. There was no air conditioning in one of the upstairs rooms- it was extremely hot. But if you don’t go in the hot summer, you should be fine. Other than that, we would highly recommend this place.

Thank you, Jenifer! We appreciate your feedback. Each bedroom does have an extra blanket, and complete Airbed-In-A-Bag kits are available for guests by request. We share their availability and how to add one to your stay several days ahead of time, and in this case even during the stay, as we have a self-service option available to guests too. Unfortunately Jenifer's trip coincided with remarkably hot conditions of over 100 degrees in Saint Paul, and while we do our best to cool the house with multiple air conditioners, even they were struggling in the record temperatures. Jenifer was right - one of the upstairs bedrooms does not have a window AC as it's not possible for that particular window to have both an AC and be an emergency egress window as required by the City. We want our guests to be both safe and cool, and so we are installing central air and are confident it will be added by Summer 2027, and hopefully sooner.

This was a disappointing rental experience. We booked the property for a full week but left after three nights, as it did not meet our expectations for safety and comfort. We were given no refund or discount by host or vrbo, which we knew before leaving and it was still worth it to leave.CleanlinessThe home was not clean upon arrival. Within an hour of walking around inside, the bottoms of my daughter’s feet were black.Safety concernsThere were several safety issues that contributed to our decision to leave. The first step onto the property was a rotted front porch. When we sat on one of the beds, the entire bed frame flipped up with my daughter on it. There is also a literal hole in the yard with no safeguards around it.Most glaring however was the temperature. Even the basement was warm and uncomfortable with no air movement other than a fan. Across three floors, there were two small window AC units, which only cooled the rooms they were placed in and left other areas unusable. The host added another unit to a bedroom but Even with units running, indoor temperatures remained around 83 degrees, making it difficult to sleep or use the home.Do yourself a favor and dont book here. The furnishings and general condition of the property are minimally maintained, and done as cheaply as possible.

We're disappointed the home wasn't the right fit for your stay. When you contacted us about the temperature, we had a staff member on site within the hour with an additional air conditioning unit to help make your stay more comfortable. During that same visit, we inspected the bed after your report and found that a pillow had become wedged beneath the frame, preventing it from sitting properly. Once removed, the bed was stable and functioned as intended. We take cleanliness, maintenance, and guest safety seriously, inspect the property regularly, and respond promptly whenever concerns are brought to our attention.
