Cute house and good location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This house is what it shows and it is a good location. It is in the woods but not too far away from the main strip. The master bed was very comfortable. A few things to address: The ice maker and water in the fridge was barely working. The comforters needed to be washed (or washed better), there was not enough water in the hot tub so we couldn’t really use it since the hose was not there, under the beds needed to be cleaned and there was only one roll of toilet paper. We had to go out and buy some.

Cabin a bit dated and management needs some improvement

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We planned a very last minute and very trip to Gatlinburg and opted to stay with Elk Springs as we had a previous good experience. This stay didn’t live up to my previous experience. Prior to booking, I emailed the property management company and asked if they had a property close to downtown and preferably within trolley route. I was told there was a trolley stop “two minutes away”. Well, I don’t know if time is slower in Gatlinburg but the closest trolley stop was definitely much farther. During my stay, I texted the property management company to ask about the trolley because we were having some difficulty finding it and was told “google it”. Rude, but okay...The cabin itself was definitely dated but fine for what it is. The soaker tub was really difficult to get in and out of as the bruise on my leg would suggest. All in, I probably wouldn’t stay with Elk Springs again as there are many other options and I can probably find better customer service and hospitality elsewhere.

You are in the middle of "Nowhere" and at the same time, you are a short drive away from downtown Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The perfect amount of space for a family of five. I have already recommended Elk Springs Resort to several friends. One of them has already booked their trip for June. Another one is planning a trip for July. This is my second stay and I plan to return soon.

Nice location, and so many great amenities. The property description was completely accurate and the cabin was in great shape. We really enjoyed to hot tub, pool table, and numerous TVs in the cabin. We ate at the old mill and shopped at the outlet stores - it was such a nice, cozy getaway!

We have stayed in Endless View, Copper Creek, Big Sky Lodge, The Game Changer, A Desire Fullfilled and we have our next trip planned to stay in Knotty & Nice. Elk Springs is amazing, beautiful cabins, perfect locations but most of all excellent customer service. My family and I won’t ever stay anywhere else. We have had no big issues - small things and when I tell you they respond quickly and fix every little detail on point I mean it! Absolutely the BEST in Tennessee!!

There was still a towel in that bathtub, it was there when we arranged. We did have an issue with the bigger size of black ants, I got a couple bites. That was in the bathroom and bedroom. Did report that along with the plumbing. Overall we still had a great time.

The rain shower was the favorite amenity. And we loved the back view and the hot tub under the stars. The only drawback was the lack of dresser space in the master bedroom - living out of our suitcases a little more than we prefer. Additionally, I swept most of the outdoor spider webs from the front of the cabin (except of the two currently occupied.) One last maintenance note - the bottom shelf of the freezer was not attached.

Reviewer Comments: I was very impressed with the property management such as receiving texts about traffic, directions, check in, etc. The cabin was listed as sleeping 8; however, the sleeper sofa springs literally were protruding from the bed which made it uncomfortable leaving 2 guests sleeping on the living room floor. One of the rocking chairs outside was broken when we got there and didn't realize until we sat in it, and when covering up with a blanket which was folded in the closet my aunt noticed small black hairs. Otherwise our stay was enjoyed.

Fairly decent place to stay

Reviewer Comments: So I know in our rental agreement it states that check in time could vary, however the morning of our arrival I received a text message asking for our time of arrival, it was going to be right around 3 (check in time). Upon arrival we received another text that our place was not ready yet. We had already booked dinner plans and after an 8 hour drive with 4 kids we needed to clean up and change before dinner, however because of lack of cleaning we couldn't get into our rental even though we said we would be there by 3. We ended up changing in the parking lot and went to dinner. The rental was finally ready by the time we got back that night. What was the point of giving our time of arrival if the rental wouldn't be ready until they were ready. Once we got back that night, we found a used dirty dish rag and dishes on the kitchen counter. Other than that, it was fairly clean. I'd say the place never has been dusted. The beds were covered in dust, windows clearly never cleaned, it was kind of gross in my opinion. The bed quilt was torn in many places as well. We also did wash our towels and found that the lint trap thingy had probably not been cleaned out in forever! The rental itself looked as pictured and the kids loved the place. I don't think I would spend that kind of money on it again though.

A Great, Peaceful Weekend

Reviewer Comments: My wife and I really enjoyed our weekend in the cabin and area - it was close enough to Gatlinburg to go out and do the touristy things, but then come back and enjoy a peaceful night. The cabin was what we needed and accurately described in the description when making our reservation. There were a few small things that I think can be fixed or addressed; the handle in the hot tub was broken (not a big deal but I guess could be a safety issue for some) and a coffee maker was provided, but no filters. I might have missed this detail when making the reservation and isn't a huge deal, we went to a small coffee shop down the hill and they gave us a few filters. There was a random magazine about South Carolina on the coffee table; we would have loved a magazine or information on the local area highlighting some of the fun things to do for visitors unfamiliar with the area. These are all very small complaints and we will definitely plan another trip and use Elk Springs Resort again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It was perfect for my family, we saw a bear on many occasions. I would just like for them to add more furniture upstairs and downstairs for more sitting options but other than that you would love this cabin My family will be back!!!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The property description was accurate. It was clean and it had all the starter packs for the weekend. The linens and towels were all very clean. Customer service was prompt to respond with some minor maintenance issues. I wish they had pictures of the outside. I was disappointed that the cabin did not have an open view. It was woods all around. The rain shower was nice although I would have used lighter colored tiles. It was very musty and dark. The shower needed a long time to reach the desired temperature whether hot or cold. Otherwise, everything was good and we had fun!
