The condo resort was very clean and comfortable. The grounds of the resort including the pool were beautiful and in perfect condition. The location was great for our stay. So many restaurant options in walking distance. A grocery store too!
This was our second time staying at the Cayman Reef Resort. This unit definitely could use some updating, but the location makes up for it. The oven door was broken, the outlet in the bathroom didnât work and you could hear the door for the screened in porch opening and closing from the wind at night because it didnât latch, but we made it all work! This unit is steps from the beach! You can literally watch the sunset from the screened in porch.
horrible experience. dirt in corners, pubic hair in shower and bathroom floor. bathroom door would not close. hair stuck to bottom of floor. hole in wall behind door. unusable pullout bed. screen door to patio nleaning up against the wall. light wouldnt work. some guy came to fix and said not to turn light off or it wouldnt turn back on. can u believe it? its true. ever see a rusted out fridge before? me either until this unit. huge spider in our bed. we moved out of this place within 12 hours. we were supposed to stay 8 nights. worst experience i have ever had. host/ owner never replied.
This is the second time we stayed in this complex and this unit had the best view to the ocean! Host was very responsive to questions. Unit could use some updates but nothing that would prevent us from booking again. Unfortunately the hurricane took away a lot of the beach but of course not the fault of the owner. Love Grand Cayman!
We recently returned from our 12 day stay in Unit 19. With a keyless system, check-in is easy. The unit location is great, we enjoyed our breakfast and many evenings on the enclosed patio which was just steps from the beach. The condo is small, but perfect for 2 people. Could use cosmetic updates, but was clean and comfortable. The complex is an easy walk to the market and restaurants. The beach is perfect, we snorkeled right from the complex and saw several turtles and lots of fish. The only time the beach was at all crowded were Wednesdays when there were several cruise ships in port and the passengers were at the Royal Palms. But that was a few hours at most.
Jarrett, the property owner was responsive to our questions and Charlene, the property manager stopped in as well.
If a one bedroom suits your needs, this is the one!
We had a great stay at Cayman Reef. We have stayed at Cayman Reef in other condos before and it such a great location.
Only complaint on this trip is there was construction on the walkways taking place, so it was loud for a few days. Other than that, great stay.
This is our 3rd time staying in this unit-- and we LOVE how you are only a few steps from the sand-- and such great views-- AND on Seven Mile Beach- where you can walk for miles on the beach if you want to! Tip- I always check the port schedule online so that I know when to avoid certain areas during the week (cruisers) just because I'm not a fan of crowds... and yes, the Royal Palms is next door, which does have cruisers there when they are ported, however, at CRR it is a private beach, so you are not crowded on the beach and can swim out literally for a half mile and still see the bottom and feel like you are miles away... love love love the water in this location! Lovely unit too!--- hope to return next year!
My family and I had a great time. Weâve stayed at the Cayman Reef Resort before, but this was a first in #19. We bumped into the cleaning lady and she is exceptional and friendly. Plenty of bedding and towels. However, not a lot in the kitchen as far as basics. No salt or pepper or coffee filters.... just small things. When you only need 5 filters itâs tough to swallow paying $6 for a package when you could have stuffed a few in your luggage. Not our first VRBO but a first for slim supplies in that category. Doesnât affect the rating of this unit at all though. You are steps from the beach, the unit is clean and fresh and everything else worked without a hitch!! Thank you!!
Steps away from one of the most beautiful beaches. Unit is nice, clean and had a great view. Owner was very responsive to all questions and issues. Out of his control of course but bring water shoes for the beach you will thank me later. The condo's AC was always a very cool temperature for when you came off the beach and for sleeping at night.
Such an amazing week in Grand Cayman thanks to Jarret and his wonderful condo . Great location with tons of wonderful restaurants a short walk away. We will definitely be booking here again next time we come!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Grand Cayman. The location of this unit is perfect. Close to everything and right on the beach. The owner of the unit, Jarrett, was very helpful in taking care of a few unforeseen issues that did pop up. If we return to Grand Cayman, we would definitely look into staying here again!
We have been to Grand Cayman many times but this was the first time we stayed at Cayman Reef Resort. The location was amazing. We did not rent a car and were able to walk to restaurants and shopping, and catch the public bus to town. #19 was close to the beach with a great view. It was the perfect size for us and our daughter with the pull out couch in the living room for her. Snorkeling out front was good and we saw lots of fish. Jarret was easy to work with and very responsive to questions we had. We would recommend Cayman Reef Resort and unit #19!
The condo was so convenient to the beach and to delicious restaurants and snorkeling.
We had a one bedroom which was perfect for us. Not a lot of storage for putting your clothes but we made it work. We felt safe and our maid Charlene was awesome!! When we return we will getting a place hopefully at the same location. We will be needing a bigger place because we want our family to experience this amazing beach and view.
Great one bedroom unit with close proximity to shopping, restaurants, and the BEACH !! Shopping and restaurants were across the street and the beach was 20 yards off of our porch. Location, location, location.
Rest and Relax at this facility !!
The condo was very close to the beach and the complex was close to a number of restaurants. We didnât need a car. We had grocery deliver from Kirkâs Market which worked out well. There is also a small convenience store in the gas station across the road. We took the public buses often and they are very reliable. It is $5 for 2 people so good idea to bring $5 and $1âs. When needed we took taxis which are also reliable. The East End is not very accessible without a car but you may be able to take a tour or taxi there.
The unit was clean and had plenty of towels. The kitchen had the dishes and cookware we needed. There is no dishwasher. There is a washer and dryer which was convenient. The TV gets a number of channels. There is a DVD player if you want to bring any. It was nice having the screened in patio and we had breakfast and lunch out there. We would see Iguanaâs quite often.
The beach has nice chairs and umbrellas all set up for you to use. Even though we were close to Royal Palms where the cruise ship people go, it was no problem since we had our own area. It was good having that nearby since they rent paddle boards, kayaks and jet skis. We brought our own snorkel gear but you can rent that also. There is good snorkeling right from the beach. A lot of people sit outside to watch the sunset every night. I only used the pool once and had it to myself. It was very nice and well kept.
We walked to the Royal Palms on our first night for dinner and it was very nice. The other restaurants we liked best were Craft Bar(right across the road), Lobster Pot and Aqua.
For activities, we did the Turtle Farm, Atlantis Submarine, Mangrove Kayak tour and Snuba.
Jarrod was easy to work with and answered all my questions prior to booking and prior to arrival.
We hope to come back and rent this unit in the future.
My husband & I returned to Cayman for our 25th Anniversary. I did a lot of research on where to stay & found this condo. We were very pleased; it was just what we hoped for! Jarret was very responsive & good to work with. Perfect distance to the beach with a great view from the patio. The Cayman sunsets are amazing! Always plenty of chairs down at the beach⊠never crowded unlike the resorts that are down the beach. We didnât rent a car. Most everything we needed was within walking distance, close to Camana Bay, restaurants, shopping, etcâŠ. We cooked most of our meals in & the kitchen had everything we needed. Fosters a grocery store is about a mile from the condo. If you have bags of groceries to bring back I would suggest catching the city buses that run up & down 7 mile beach. Itâs about $2pp. They will take you anywhere you need to go up & down 7 mile. Cayman Reef is a well-kept property. Always felt safe even when we were out at night. We will be returning for sure & would definitely book this property again!
