This is our third time staying at the lovey-dovey. It is such a nice retreat to get away to. We usually like to just hang out at the cabin. Itâs quiet and private and a good getaway from the busyness of life. Always love our time there, and canât wait to go back next year.
My husband and I, and our two dogs, visited this cabin in the fall for a little weekend getaway. The cabin was so cozy and comfortable! It was also very clean and had great amenities. We especially enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub after a day of hiking and being able to cook some of our own meals instead of driving into the hustle and bustle of Asheville for dinner.
This was exactly what we were looking for and we feel blessed that we were able to get it at such short notice. Our original booking with someone else was a disaster and so happy we found this place. It saved our 48th wedding anniversary!
The cabin had everything that one could want. It was designed very carefully with a large front porch which is completely isolated. All you can see is mountain. I never heard another human. I used the hot tub every night! Great recharge.
This cabin was exactly what we were looking for. Location removed enough to access the Pisgah National Forest, but close enough to enjoy Asheville. Setting is comfortable and tranquil, so that we felt our time was well spent sitting on the porch, reading and drinking coffee, and cooking some meals here. The kitchen is well-stocked and in great condition. My only complaints are (1) the hiking trail pictured and described on the sheet in the cabin was so overgrown that it wasn't passable and (2) the bed sags a bit in the center. Neither big enough of a problem to cast any sort of pall over our stay. We'd definitely come back.
Driving up to the cabin was an uh-oh moment with the place looking like a shack. But then going inside it was neat, clean and charming. While unloading the car we realized that the exterior wood siding was left to weather instead of being painted or stained. It's just their "look" and not at all a problem.
The owners helped up out by providing a hair dryer which is not normally included. Just one example of their courtesy.
The nearest grocery store is on hwy 19 coming to the cabin, about 15 minutes away. Plenty of great things to do in the area, mostly hiking for us.
The main recommendation is to add a dish rack to the double basin kitchen sink, so we don't have to use the dish washer for small loads. Nice to have the washer and dryer also.
SUPERB MOUNTAIN VISTAS in TRANQUILITY! I enormously enjoyed my stay 6/14-6/17 at the Lovey Dovey. It was more spacious than I expected. It has a defined 'cabin' feel with all the wood but was clean with plenty of towels and washcloths. (I brought my own beach towel for the hottub but there are other regular towels there) Had all of the amenities I needed (washer/dryer w/detergent, full fridge, sink/detergent, toaster, dish washer, pots, pans, plates, glasses, etc) On a hill, so although there are neighbors below/above, when relaxing in the tub/porch, all you see is the mid-tree lines, so no one can see you and you don't see others. Just what I needed to de-stress. The chairs on the porch were very comfortable for reading. There is a tin-roof and I was praying for rain each evening because I can only imagine how awesome that would have been for relaxation. I will have to go back next spring to experience spring showers. Within 15-20 min of downtown Asheville, Blue Ridge Parkway AND Biltmore Estates. My Wifi and phone (verizon) both worked acceptable during the weekdays (stopped working on Friday but there was also bad weather in the area. I was also forewarned about this by the owners so I didn't feel slighted in the least) Great communication from the hosts/owners during my stay and prior. Note: The bed is "firm" but I slept soundly and comfortably each night. Turning around in the driveway can be tricky. If you're going to cook, bring cooking spray and condiments. Otherwise there is a general dollar within 5 or so miles. If those are the only cautions, this place gets an A+ rating from me. I will be back again!
Nice secluded getaway. If you just want to hunker down & enjoy some peace & quiet in the woods, then it was great. There is really no yard, but the cabin was cute & cozy. We slept very well & really enjoyed it.
There's a coffee maker, but you need to bring your own coffee. đ
Great first time experience for me renting from a VRBO property. My partner recommended this service to me. I will definitely try VBRO and this property again.
My husband and I were looking for a little getaway to spend some quality time together prior to his deployment. The cabin was perfect- clean, quaint, quiet, relaxing. We really enjoyed our time there and would definitely visit again and recommend to others!
We loved everything about this little cabin. It was secluded and peaceful. Sitting in the hot tub looking out over the mountains was so wonderful. The kitchen was great and we cooked several times. We will definitely be back!
