It had everything I needed except pantry items but I always come prepared so it was perfect! They bought a new fridge so there were no issues there! The gas stove was a little tricky lol but that was my own inexperience. The living space was cozy and comfortable. The beds were clean and comfortable. The shower took me a little bit to figure out but after that the water pressure was fine, clean hot shower. I spent most of my time in the creek and on the porch swing so the TV was only on for background but it had everything i needed. To me, it was perfect, it was safe and out of the way but still close enough to run to the store. If you need a soul rest and reset in seclusion, which I did, but still want to be among the living, this place is perfect. Thank you so much for allowing me to share your space
Small issues that were resolved immediately. Canât say enough positive about the owner. He definitely went above and beyond. Loved the cabin and location was wonderful literally steps from the large creek. Beds were comfortable but glad we brought pillows. The wife, dog and very much enjoyed it.
The place was nice. Loved being on the creek. A lot more rustic of a cabin than the online photos. We were ok with it because it reminded us of our farm house. Refrigerator does not work even though I was told that it had been fixed. Also, there was supposed to be a trash can beside the building and there was not. Notified the owners upon check out that the trash was on the porch. I hope they get there before critters do.
My husband and I stayed at Stoney Forks for his birthday and it was great! The hot tub, the swing, the river, walking in the woods, nearby hiking, and of course Asheville (specifically the River Arts District) were all highlights for us! Thanks for this great little spot in nature!
We loved the location and the deck with the creek is beautiful. The owners were quick to answer questions and that was nice, but they also didn't offer any kind of compensation for the refrigerator not working. The house itself needs a lot of basic maintenance, not even costly repairs would be necessary to make a stay more enjoyable. Alot of small, very basic maintenance is necessary.
Perfect for us and our dogs! 15 mins to dowwntown asheville, 5 mins from fantastic hiking and a walk across the bridge in the backyard to trails and the state park. We will be back.
The cabin was exactly as described and super clean. Contact with the hosts was answered promptly, and responses were friendly and very helpful. The cabin is definitely older, but it was so cozy. The beds slept great and the hot tub was incredibly relaxing with the creek in the background. We loved the stay and would highly recommend the cabin and its hosts.
Had such a relaxing time at this cabin. Hot tub was clean and worked great. Living room is best feature inside. Internet for other cabins too so not secure, but I didnât want to work anyway. đ The kitchen had all needed but could use some new sauce pans. Creek came up with some rain which was nice for sound and flow. Loved the roof over hot tub so could use it in the rain. Would recommend at this price point! Bed was very comfortable!
The location of this cabin is perfect. Nestled along base of the mountains along the creek which is delightful. The hot tub is a bonus we enjoyed alot. It is evident the property is an older house along a creek in the woods. Therefore there are spinder
We found the cabin to be very rustic with a nice hot tub that sat on the creek wouldâve appreciated a few more simple amenities, like a few basic cooking items and shampoo and soap in the bathrooms
We had a nice stay, the hiking in the backyard was fantastic. The cabin is rustic and has some character. If you are looking for a posh stay this may not meet your expectations but if you want a nice place in the forest this is for you. There is a shower, working appliances and a beautiful forest to explore.
We arrived after dark and it is very hard to find the driveway. Better signage would be helpful. Upon arrival- we found the house unlocked and lights on. We are 2 adult women and security is key to our stays. We called the owner and he let us know that we were in a very safe area and the door was left unlocked in case we couldnât get in and it was cold out. He assured us that they have never had any problems so we were safe. The door we discovered the next day, does not latch so unlocked or not, anyone can get in. The kitchen, living room and bedrooms were clean and tidy. The beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms could use some work. Everything is dated and water stains on the tubs and toilets. Ceiling tiles were stained and damaged. The creek outback and the hot tub were as described. Our purpose for this trip was to relax and we did do that but with a little bit of TLC and cleaning, this cabin could be much more welcoming.
The home and the premises were very well suited for us. We enjoyed the mountains. the fire pit, the hot tub and the kitchen was well stocked for our needs. My Children visited one evening and had dinner with us with plenty of room the visit. There was a short rain shower, but the front porch was comfortable for the visit. It was my best Birthday celebration in many years past. Would hope to visit the cabin again in the future.
The cabin is basic with all rudimentary necessities. The deck literally in the stream is a wonderful place to hang out.
Very private even though other cabins are nearby.
I loved the place. It had personality and if it was warmer (I went in early March) i would have loved to keep the windows open to fall asleep to the sound of the creek right outside.
Overall the cabin was cozy. Plumbing could use updating as shower leaks and does not stop which causes stale water to pool in bathtub. Did not report this because it has clearly been like this and was not an overnight fix. Other than that the cabin is in a great location, beautiful creek runs beside deck, and the kitchen is well stocked with pots/pans/dishes/utensils.
