We've stayed at the Mahana many different times but never thru Gather vacations. I was impressed by the pics shown online mostly because it was decorated differently than other rooms we stayed in previously. The entire condo had been remodeled and it was luxurious. You can't beat the view from anywhere in the condo. The kitchen had absolutely everything needed to feel as though you were at home. We spent 2 weeks there and wished it would have been longer. Thank you for your attention to detail in every corner.

The place was absolutely amazing! The perfect size with everything you could possibly need. The view is outstandingly beautiful! We saw turtles swim up to the shore a few afternoons. Great view of the stars at night too! We would very highly recommend to anyone looking to visit Maui!

Beautiful unit at MKV

Location is perfect. Right near ocean, pool, restaurant, bar. Nice view of water. Huge patio. Not over furnished, lots of room in unit. Very pleased!

Just gorgeous!

What a beautiful unit! The furnishings and updates were so lovely and listening to the waves crash each night was heaven. Of not fault of the owners, the whole building's AC was down. My only complaint is the communication with the management company. The temporary AC unit placed in the room to help with the warm week was not working and smelled very hot-it did not feel safe. We left a message twice with the number provided and but never heard from them. Other than that, really lovely.

This was our first time at this property and it was by far the best unit we’ve stayed in. Property was clean and had everything we needed to make our vacation smooth and easy. Property management was very communicative and quickly responded to any questions we had. Would absolutely recommend!

Wouldn’t do again

Rating Details: The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: A/C was out and they didn’t disclose until we landed. In talking with people in the building it had been out for sometime so the company acting as if it was recent was a lie. So it was hot and miserable BUT the worst was the roach infestation. They tried to tell me they had “flown over from the fires” but they were the small ones running all over the counters, cabinets and even inside the dishwasher and sinks! At night going to the bathroom I had to flip on lights so as to not step on one. When I reported it they just said they “sprayed really good”. It was horrible! We had to throw away food we had set on the counter and we ended up not using the kitchen at all because of this problem. According to the rental agreement they should had offered a different place since it was not actually livable. The only good thing was the view. I don’t recommend them or this unit. I am pretty sure they won’t let this review stand either. We will see.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Stayed MKV before so knew location and amenities were great. Central AC for entire complex was out starting in late January. Would prefer that Hawaii Life had disclosed that when they found out. Probably would not have changed anything since we had made full payment by then. Replacement AC units were supplied but were noisy so we did not use them. Love the old school vibe of location/property..plenty of grass and pool space without the crowds of the mega resorts.

Excellent location and property

Well equipped kitchen and BBQ area, proximity to the Kaanapali beach walk and lovely pool area are our highlights! The lanai was perfect for watching the sunset and we saw whales off the coast at every meal. The unit was spacious for two people, and we enjoyed our early mornings and early bedtimes very much since it was so quiet!

The condo has a spectacular view of the ocean and everything you could possibly need; fully stocked kitchen and everything to take to the beach. We used the beach chairs, umbrella, towels, beach toys and cooler everyday! The TVs were great for evening downtime, and the lanai was my happy place for reading at sunset and sunrise!If you're looking for a resort pool with poolside food service, this place is not for you. But I think the view is hard to beat!The beach right in front of the building is a reef, so great for snorkeling but not great for swimming, boogie boarding or playing in the ocean. We headed south to Black Rock for those activities.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: From the moment we walked into the Mahana resort, we felt at ease. It’s a quiet location nestled in right at the ocean’s front door. There is a pool and hot tub, beautiful lawn with comfortable chairs, and beach access. The unit is on the eleventh floor and the view and sounds of the surf from it are magnificent. It is tastefully and beautifully decorated, bright and beachy, without compromising comfort. The photos online are very accurate. The hosts were attentive, very responsive, and even left us gifts upon arrival. While staying in the unit, we enjoyed listening to the surf at night and in the morning from the bedroom (extremely comfortable bed) and sitting by the huge floor to ceiling window in the living room and watching whales in the distance while having coffee. Binoculars were provided that made this pastime even better. In the evenings, we sat on the lanai with some wine and appetizers to watch the sunset. We found beach chairs, bags, and soft-sided coolers in the hall closet. Beach towels were also provided. I would highly recommend this unit for its location, cleanliness and comfort, as well as the attentiveness of the property managers. While we were on island, we visited the PAC Whale Foundation for a whale watching tour. You do have to drive across the island because Lahaina is closed, but it wasn’t far. We also drove up the coast to the Nakalele Blowhole, magnificent. We visited Kapalua golf course for breakfast one morning and for dinner we visited Merriman’s Kapalua and The Banyon Tree at The Ritz Carlton.Overall, it was a magnificent stay and I would visit again.

Reviewer Comments: We ended up staying at this resort because the original one I booked had a maintenence issue that couldn't be resolved in the time we were visiting,and the company we used had us stay here.Pros:the 2nd floor room was gorgeous,clean,and the view from the balcony was peaceful and pretty...cons:we were TOLD we would be staying here,by text only,without any knowledge of this resort....the balcony isn't private at all.Its on a main walkway where everyone walking by can see you out on the balcony(not what i was wanting to relax)...the resort itself seemed old.And the villas we stayed at had only a pool and no other amenities(the one I paid for had alot of pools and slides)....lastly,customer service was very poor.Only found out about the maintenance issue when we landed by text.After a couple days of emails/texts/phone calls(3 days to be exact),we finally spoke to the company's representative(he was out of town and was unaware of the whole situation)which was positive,he was very nice....I write this review,as I said to the manager,to please just be better about communication and customer support.Other than that,we made the best of our stay and had a great time.

Maui Family Vacation

Our stay at this condo was perfect for our family of four! It was clean, well cared for, and had everything we needed (it looks just like the pictures online). The location on the property and in Ka'anapali was fantastic! The pool and beach were beautiful and were within a few steps of the condo. We rented snorkel gear for the week at the hut on the property and snorkeled at the reef just down the beach (very short walk on the beach). It was amazing...lots of fish and we saw a large turtle! The beach walkway was great for morning walks, and we enjoyed coffee/breakfast on the balcony at the condo each morning. We saw a beautiful sunset from the balcony, too! The food & drinks at Castaway Cafe were very good and the staff on the property were very friendly. Communication with the property management was excellent and thorough. Only a four minute drive to Whalers Village in Lahaina...great shops & restaurants (property offers a shuttle, as well) and 10 min. drive to Kapalua. We didn't want to leave...everything was perfect! We would definitely stay here, again! Thank you!

Perfect Location for a Family

Our family of four spent two weeks at the condo and it lived up to all of our expectations. The location is amazing and it had all of the amenities that our family needed. It was spacious and clean, and the laundry machine was a definite plus! We usually rent beach chairs and bring our own beach towels so the fact that the condo was stocked with those items (along with beach umbrellas and cooler bags for the beach) was a huge plus! The management team was excellent and extremely communicative, keeping us in the loop every step of the way and answering all of our questions within minutes of texting them. We had an issue with some of the pillows in the condo (we are allergic to down) and when we texted them about it, they went and bought 4 new pillows for us and dropped them off that day. They definitely go the extra mile! We will definitely be back in the near future. Mahalo!
