The property itself was… average at best. There was a huge wet blueish green slime stain on the carpet in one of the bedrooms, along with broken slats on the blinds in multiple rooms. The fire pit was overflowing with ashes from the previous tenants. The pool had cardboard paper and dead bugs in it. And, the absolute most insulting part? We NEVER got instructions on how to turn the hot tub/pool system on. We wasted HOURS waiting on the “owner” to send the instructions so that we could turn everything on, and then wasted several more hours on the phone with VRBO, only to be lied to by both the owner and VRBO about the communication problems. They were very quick to threaten to charge us if anything was broken, quick to promise to send the instructions, yet never did. The washer even had someone else’s wet clothing/towels in it. There was blood on one of the pillow cases, and a huge hair ball inside one of the beds. For reference, I’m not even sure if it was the owner I talked to. The person said he was management, even though the welcome book has him listed as owner, and the person I talked to misspelled the owner’s name and called from a phone number not listed on the booking AND insisted on “texting outside the VRBO app because that’s the preferred way”.One star was definitely too many for this place. We overpaid, just to not have access to the amenities we overpaid for. I still have not received the refund I was promised. VRBO (along with this “owner”) is a joke.
