This home was super clean and well equipped. There was plenty of room for everyone in the family. Communication was excellent and we couldn't have hoped for a better stay!
Great place to stay for our sonâs wedding in Waco. We were able to have the guest house as well so plenty of room for all family members to spread out. The house is spotless and had everything we could need. Thank you!
We loved the house !!! Beautiful and everything you need. Very informative .I would stay here again if we ever come back to Waco. Girls trip was complete!
We hosted a small graduation dinner for family and ever raved about how beautiful the home was. Charmaine was extremely flexible and accommodating which saved me a lot of stress on graduation day. I would recommend this home and property manager to anybody that visits Waco
This old house has character, creaking stairs included (that's a plus - if you grew up with them, you know what I mean), and lots of comfortable common space that was a wonderful gift for extended family members to gather and visit after a family wedding. Everyone slept well, all was in good order, and communication with the owner was simple, straightforward, prompt and helpful. A lovely weekend enhanced by the provision of this home!
We had a family birthday celebration for a family member who lives in Waco and rented two adjacent houses from Charmaine. This house was the perfect place to get together to visit, play games and put puzzles together! It was also close to sites to go see. :) It worked out perfectly for the group! Thanks Charmaine!
We had a two night stay for my daughters bachelorette ladies. The house is absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. It was great to be able to see the renovation recap of this beautiful property. The host was absolutely amazing, very thorough and responsive. The neighborhood was also pleasant and quite. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!
This was an annual sibling trip along with spouses - had a wonderful time! This house reminded us of our growing up in an older home on Tres Palacios Bay. This house has been beautifully restored by Fixer Upper. We especially enjoyed the front porch and were amused when a wine tour bus stopped for about 5 minutes as the house was on their tour route. The location is excellent and very convenient to the fine restaurants we dined at.
The home is unique and spacious. It has all you need for an extended stay and rooms for everyone. The neighborhood has had a downturn but we had no problems at all. We enjoyed evenings watching passersby from the porch. We would stay again for sure.
This house was absolutely perfect for our girls getaway weekend! The location was close to all the things we were wanting to do without being too busy.
We loved how many bathrooms there were! The third floor stairs are a little sketchy lol Beware of them after you've had a mimosa or two!
The kitchen and living room were spacious and fit us all well.
When we first arrived we were slightly taken aback by the surrounding neighborhood however we quickly realized it was all ok!
Parking was a bit of a trick at times but we made it work!
Our host was kind and responded quickly to our questions just before we checked in.
Overall we loved it and would recommend for any large girls group getaway for sure!

Fixer upper in the ghetto
After years of worldwide VRBO rentals, we are forced to leave our first negative review. The home was clean and the living areas were nice, unfortunately the bathrooms and bedrooms were in need of significant work and the neighborhood is simply unsafe. We left after one night due to the gang-like activity well into the night. This is a hard pass.
I am an ex pro soccer player who represented Canada on the national team for all of 2 decades. After soccer, I found myself being drawn toward real estate and hospitality. Very strange, since I studied neither during my 5 years at North Carolina State University, in Raleigh. I work a lot with kids. That might explain why the home is kid friendly. In whatever spare time I have, I volunteer at Meals on Wheels in Waco.
We were so attracted to this property simply because of its beauty, character and great bones. It has undergone an incredible transformation, thanks to the HGTV stars of Fixer Upper. I had no intentions of being on a TV show and definitely neither did my husband. This house had been transformed from "crappy to happy" in a matter of a very short period of time and the fact that the home is located only 7 min. from Baylor University and only 5 minutes to the Silos and downtown makes it a great place to stay for any events around town.
Upon entering the home, one gets a sense of a comfortable home away from home with the open kitchen and dining area, perfect gathering place for everyone while the chef creates. The 5 bedrooms make it possible for large groups to stay together in the same place at a fraction of the cost of hotel rooms. There is also a garage apartment which is also available for smaller groups of 1-5, at a reduced rate, if rented alone, offering an extra two bedrooms with a sleeper sofa in the living room and one and a half bathrooms. Just contact the owner to find out about availability. The house and guest house can also be rented together if available. The wrap around porch is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the day in the early morning or late afternoon. Also, the open grassy area makes it possible to play ball or have a party. Check in is 3pm and check out is 11am the latest. Please check with the owner first to see if an earlier check in or later check out times are available for your specified dates. . The outdoor green space as well as the play area for kids makes it an all round great place to stay.
