Welcome to the Ojai Serenity House — a bright and uplifting 1,200 sq. ft. retreat designed for rest, creativity, and connection. This charming home features a light-filled, colorful interior with curated touches that reflect Ojai’s artistic spirit. With three cozy sleeping areas accommodating up to six guests, a dedicated office space for those who need to work or create, and a fully fenced backyard perfect for relaxing or outdoor dining, it’s the ideal blend of comfort and inspiration.

Just 10 minutes from downtown Ojai, local hiking trails, restaurants, and shopping experiences, this home offers a welcoming mix of creativity, comfort, and California charm—a true Ojai experience.

Whether you’re here for a quiet getaway, a family stay, or a creative recharge, Ojai Serenity House offers the perfect balance of peace, privacy, and playful energy

Guests have exclusive access to the entire Ojai Serenity House, with the exception of the front section with the turquoise door, which is occupied by other guests. You’ll have full use of the spacious fenced backyard, perfect for relaxing under the Ojai sun, enjoying morning coffee, or an evening glass of wine beneath the stars.

We offer self-check-in for your convenience. However, we`re always here to help if you need anything to make your stay more comfortable. Just send us a message through the channel, and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.

Private Wellness Stays
Our property is part of a Private Membership Association (PMA), hosted by our ministries, Light Warrior Wellness and Sacred Ground Ojai. Through intentional hospitality, thoughtful property stewardship and selected space-transformation projects, we create places that are beautiful, peaceful and deeply cared for. The property was just as described on the website. Our family loved the overall vibe. Crystals in the home, calming interior and the serene backyard provided a peaceful setting. The single story makes for easy access for mobility challenges. Providing tips in the informtion book on starting the oven and dishwasher would be helpful. Kara was prompt in reponding to questions that arose. A very comfortable, pleasant stay. We will keep this on our list of homes to revisit. Thank you, Kara.

This was perfect for our stay. Two couples. There was another bedroom with bunk beds for a family visiting. I would say for us the highlight was the back yard space. All tranquility and peacefulness. We would definitely return again should we visit beautiful Ojai again.

We highly recommend this house. It was thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a one-week vacation. Especially wonderful was the backyard with flowering shrubs and fruit trees and lounge chairs and a large picnic table for outside gathering. We had a wonderful time and would happily stay there again. Our host responded quickly to the very few problems we had.

The interior of the house was well decorated, clean and comfortable. We had a problem with the shower in the smaller bathroom; the owner fixed it promptly but it was difficult to use, so we used the nicer shower in the primary bedroom which was lovely and more accessible for our age group (octogenarians). We would have appreciated a microwave in the kitchen, and the Teflon on the pots was wearing off or the pots were dirty. The coffee maker worked well and was well stocked. (Sally even brought us more.) The garden is stunning and truly the jewel of the place. We enjoyed the outdoor furniture and picked oranges from the tree to squeeze fresh juice. The juicer was a treat to have. It would be helpful to have written instructions on how to use the heating/AC unit, oven, and a list of local restaurants and places to visit. Also, tissues in the bathroom would be a nice touch. Other VRBOs we have used prepare a binder with this information for guests.The parking in front was very helpful and accessible (we use canes and one of us uses a walker.) We had no problems with accessibility issues.I would recommend the house to others.

Hi, thank you so much for your feedback. I’m sorry you had trouble with the shower during your stay. The shower itself is not broken—it pulls out to turn on rather than turning. I did come over during your stay and show you how it works, and we’ve since also added a label to make this clearer for future guests. I’m sorry it was still frustrating to use, and I wish I had known there was still an issue so I could have helped further. Since your stay, I’ve also added a microwave and a house guidebook/binder with helpful information and instructions for the home. Very lovely rental with a few minor issues. First, the location is close to everything and so much is provided. There are extra towels, linens, and pillows available. My family also appreciated the large primary closet, full length mirrors, and 2 bathrooms. The yard area was also very well kept. Wish we could have used the sauna but it was too hot outside. The main issue is that the shower in the secondary bath was broken. We couldn’t get the water to turn on at all. Since we were there for 2 nights only, my daughter used the primary shower. While this was a fairly minor inconvenience, a review from April also mentioned this issue. This leads me to think repairs are not being handled properly and that the 2nd bathroom is not being cleaned. Other issues included the bathroom soap dispensers not being filled and flies coming out of the drains. If the shower was working properly I would not have mentioned the other issues. However, these issues combined were enough of a nuisance to make our stay less than it should have been. Once the shower is fully fixed I believe I would give a higher rating. One other thing, the house is not a private rental. There is an attached converted garage that is also rented out. Although this information is in the original listing it is easily overlooked since it is in the middle of a paragraph. Be aware that the driveway is shared with whoever may be renting out the garage space.

Pictures truly don’t do this place justice. The house is incredibly spacious, updated, and chic, with a sunny, bright feel throughout. The layout is absolutely perfect for visiting with family and friends. The kitchen, den, and outdoor space all flow seamlessly into one another, making it easy and natural to gather, cook, relax, and spend time together. The kitchen was exceptionally well stocked with every dish, appliance, and tool you could possibly need to cook any meal, plus tons of counter space. Everything in the home worked perfectly and was spotless on arrival, which immediately made us feel comfortable and welcomed. The master bedroom was large, peaceful, and serene, and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. Both bathrooms were equally impressive — spacious, modern, and impeccably clean.The backyard truly can’t be beat. It felt like a private retreat with chaise lounges, a large table under a pergola, twinkling lights, a hammock, a sauna, and so much open space. It was also perfect for pets, which we really appreciated. The separate office in the backyard was an added bonus and a fantastic place to work and focus when needed. The home is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood with easy parking, yet it’s incredibly central and close to downtown Ojai, Meiners Oaks, markets, etc. Kara was an exceptional host — incredibly responsive, helpful, and thoughtful from start to finish. Overall, this place exceeded every expectations. A. We will be back!

Perfect retreat for a girls weekend, aptly named serenity house. Clean, plenty of fresh towels. The kitchen had everythjng we needed to cook a few meals. So many nice sitting areas outside in the private feeling backyard. Host was quick to text back when I had questions.
