It is all about good vibes and sunshine at this fabulous 70's beach pad with authentic MCM furnishings and skylights. There are numerous welcoming and comfortable spaces indoors and out for gathering and for intimate connection at this very special house. It has an open concept kitchen/dining/living room + loft, west-facing deck, and east-facing enclosed back yard. Schoolhouse Beach is just one block away- whether you want to swim, sunbathe or walk along the water's edge as the sun sets over the Channel Islands. Or you can enjoy sunset from the living room deck. There is room for everyone to dine indoors (the dining table seats 10) or outdoors, where the table seats 12. Evenings are magical in the tree-lined yard around the fire pit. Vons, a juice bar, Starbucks, restaurants + a surf shop for rentals and lessons are all easily walkable. The bedrooms are quiet and cozy. The kitchen has a very practical layout and is fully stocked; it's equally easy to cook at the house, order in, or walk to neighborhood restaurants. The outdoor garden shower is a nice warm-up after visits to the beach. There is plenty of space in the garage for surfboards and wetsuits. We provide 2 bikes, boogie boards, beach towels, and a long foam board. The room with twin beds and a trundle bed has toys and some kids' books. San Buenaventura State Beach with the bike path to Ventura Pier is at one end of our neighborhood, and Marina Park with Ventura Harbor is at the other end. Downtown Ventura is a short drive or bike ride. This is a wonderful house, near a beautiful beach, in a vibrant city. A perfect spot to make great memories. STVR Permit #2502.
A former Pierpont resident, I visit the area often. This home is an easy walk to the beach, is beautifully lit and easily shaded, has comfortable beds and lush linens, a FULLY stocked kitchen, and a gorgeous backyard. The host is communicative and accommodating and I am already planning my next return "home."
We had a wonderful stay - the home is spacious, well-designed, full of light, and with open doors an ocean breeze. You can even see the ocean through the skylight in the loft. It seems like someone's second home that you are visiting - the furniture and artwork are beautiful and the kitchen is fully stocked. They thought of every detail. Each room has a different appeal (balcony, back yard screen door, skylight, lot, children's room). There are plenty of regular towels and beach towels and beach supplies. The backyard has a great table for a big family dinner. An excellent spot for a family reunion.
Our stay was great. House was everything thing as listed. Very spacious, beautiful backyard, and a 2 minute walk to beach. We were in town for Spencer McKenzies Throwdown, location of house was within minutes of anything we did or needed. I would highly recommend.
Perfect for our family (3 different households!) to share comfortably. The living area was open and well lit, and the outdoor patio was quite beautiful with its coastal succulents. Location was totally favorable with being just a block from the beach. The heated outdoor shower felt so nice to wash our sandy feet and suits. The bicycle and beach gear were a fun perk. Staying here totally made it feel like a vacation and provided the space for our family to connect.
The house was in a great location and close to the beach, parks and a few restaurants. The kitchen was well stocked and we grilled and cooked a couple meals at the house. There are a couple bikes that were great to ride the bike trails and to the parks on the ocean. We had more than enough room and we were super comfortable hanging out at the house. The queen beds upstairs were very comfortable. The back yard was a great space to hang out. This is a perfect place for a group or a family with kids.
Great stay by the beach with all the best Mid Century touches!
We stayed at the Mid Century Beach Lodge for a weekend, and we can't wait to go back! We were a big group of 3 families and we all fit nicely. We stuck the kids in one room, and the adults each got their own room. The kids LOVED the loft, they took their toys straight up there and played. We had a baby with us, and thankfully there was a baby gate so we could block the staircases. But the kids aside, the adults had a wonderful time! The main floor had great space to lounge, and the kitchen was well labeled and stocked. The chef in our group was delighted by the many spice options as he worked to cook us delicious meals. We found everything we needed in the house, and for those who love a good Mid Century this house is decorated so well! The location of course is the best part, being one block from the beach. We spent the weekend running back and forth to the beach with ease, and you are a short drive to downtown. Such a wonderful house, definitely our new favorite in our favorite beach town!
When we are in Pierpont, we don't ever want to leave. Sure, downtown Ventura is charming, but we have everything we need in this peaceful, humble neighborhood. Not flashy or fancy, just laid back. When we are here, all that matters is the sunrise, the tide charts, good food, and good company.
The warmth, openness, and optimism of the late 1970's permeates the whole house, which is why we kept most of its original features. Coming up the stairs into the sun-drenched living space never fails to lift our spirits. We love the combination of common areas, both indoors and outdoors, and that they are east and west-facing. It is a house that is built to guide you through each day, from sunrise to sunset, which is one reason our time here always feels so special.
