When you're looking for a winner, pick a SHORE THING for that perfect beach vacation home. SHORE THING has location, location, location. Located semi-oceanfront on a quiet Kinnakeet Shores cul-de-sac, this designed for family home is well maintained. Located 20 yards across from the public beach walkway makes beach access very easy and convenient. Located within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, and the grocery store makes this the perfectly located vacation home. The ocean and sound views from the East and South-facing deck are spectacular. The ground level has ample parking, outside showers and fish cleaning bench. The first living level has four comfortable, well furnished bedrooms and two full baths. The second living level is open to the beauties of the sound and sea from all living, dining, and deck areas. The well equipped kitchen, breakfast bar and dining area have great views of the ocean. SHORE THING is equipped with games, books, and videos to keep the evenings as wonderful as the beautiful Avon Beach days.

You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically.


Please note: Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid-October, depending on weather.

Very close to the beach

Nice cottage very close to the beach (2 min walk). Fully furnish with everything you need. Very close to all the amenities also. Perfect location!

Come for the porch view, stay for the foodie’s kitchen

Great space for our vacation and the née deck is wonderful. We were particularly impressed with the board game selection and by how well-provided the kitchen is with cooking equipment and wecooked meals in the home several times during our stay.

Loved being able to have a view of the ocean and the convenient location of the property to the grocery store was a bonus. The property was well maintained and comfortable. We enjoyed our week there.

A great second stay at Shore Thing!

This was our second stay and we enjoyed it again! Great access to the beach and the sound. Conveniently located near food lion and shops. Comfortable home with all of the necessities you need to cook and clean up. Fun board games as well. Book this stay and you won’t regret it!

Fun at the beach

Beautiful area, close to the beach, a few problems with the home/property management company but didn't effect the fun of vacation.

Shore Thing

Climbing stairs got a little old! Other than that, the house was clean, adequate supplies, close to beach. Closet of games and books was very nice! Good set up for families. Nice view of the ocean from the deck; neighborhood was quiet. Close to stores and restaurants. Would stay here again.

Shore thing is the best thing

The very short walk to the beach! I was pleasantly surprised about the ample supply of cookware and utensils, dishes and all in great shape . What I was most happy with was how clean the house was! We have stayed in OBX for over 35 years always getting houses some big some small depending on how many people were coming so the cleanliness of the house was surprising . I know times are challenging for all businesses due to being short staffed and when a company is doing a good job it should be recognized in addition their staff should be recognized for a job well done . Thanks

Property was filthy! We had to clean the entire house, had no clean linens, and couldn't access the property until 2 hours after the promised time.

Perfect for Us!

Our small family rented this 4 bedroom, 2 bath home to celebrate our youngest 18th birthday and it did not disappoint. The location was perfect as the beach was about only a minute or two walk away. Plus you could see the ocean from the balcony. The house was clean, comfortable and organized. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware and the grocery store was only a short walk away. There were board games so you didn't have to depend on the internet for entertainment. However, if that's your thing the wi-fi was flawless. Everything worked from lights to TVs and everyone said their beds were comfortable. There were enough linens for our three day stay. Actually the fact that we did not book longer was our only complaint. Vacasa was a pleasure to work with, providing valuable information and support every step of the way. I will definitely book with them again. Overall a wonderful experience!
