This is our second year here, and it’s a great place. However.. big issues with Vacasa(the property managers) they have zero contact with the owners and will offer to help you with requests but make no effort to actually help you.We asked to see if we could check in 30mins early for our 12 night stay, they said they would check with the owners and never did. We asked if there were beach chairs, vacasa said no, and there were a couple underneath the porch. We asked if there was a vacuum vacasa said no, we get there and there’s a vacuum right in the closet. We were short on a good bit of supplies like paper towels and toilet paper and didn’t even bother with Vacasa because we knew they wouldn’t do anything.

Everything was perfect until we found bedbugs in one of the beds. Essentially, we lost the use of that bedroom and some guests had to double up. Communication with the property manager ended with an agreement of a 15% refund for the loss of the bedroom. A month after our stay, the refund was still not given. Except for that issue, i would have given the property 5 stars all around.

Sweet Sping Break getaway!

The property was phenomenal. You cannot beat the beach access straight from the house. Plenty of room for the kids to play and run around. The crib was a nice bonus so we didn’t have to get out our pack and play. Kitchen was large and well stocked. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for the whole group. We had the best time!

Perfect

Everything was perfect! The porch/deck is amazing with views and if you have dogs or children there are gates on both entries which made our trip more relaxing less stressful. The home has plenty of room the beach is beautiful and so close to home. The town, restaurants and pier is 10/15 mins walking distance, you can even walk on beach to the town. The staff communication was more than you could ask! Quick response through text and checking to make sure all is good.

Perfect Beach Home

Our stay was at the house was wonderful and beach front access was amazing! The house was clean, beds were soo comfortable and the house was so cozy. We loved sitting on the deck at night and walking to the beach or to restaurants during the day. We will be back next year!

Soon after we arrived we had an issue with a door. They were there in a timely manner and fixed it. Our granddaughter wants us to go back this summer.

Great Stay at Blue Bayou

Great location! Short walk to downtown. Very comfortable bedding and pillows. Several gathering spaces for meals, games and conversations. The house has a low-key vibe like Folly Beach. Would suggest TVs in the upstairs bedrooms. Definitely plan to return to Folly Beach!

Great place for large families

We rented this house for extended family for our daughter's wedding locally. The home was spacious for 12 adults. The bedrooms are good size (except for one room with a single) and the bathrooms were large as well. There was plenty of closet space and drawers in the bedrooms and the bathrooms had lots of hooks and drawer space for toiletries. You can't beat the location right on the water and the walk to town took less than 10 minutes. The kitchen was well equipped, but somewhat disorganized as people put things away randomly. Our only issues were minor - the propane tank on gas grill was low and needed to be refilled which was taken care of the same day and we also had the unfortunate luck to have two different smoke alarms start beeping in the middle of the night due to low batteries. Since we didn't have any batteries, we had to take them down. We had a wedding to attend the next day! Also, some of the TV remotes and a ceiling fan remote didn't work due to dead batteries. My suggestion is to either leave a supply of replacement batteries for these type of things or replace them on a consistent basis since you never know when they will stop working. We loved sitting on the deck having early morning coffee or drinks before dinner. There was also plenty of off street parking for the 3 or 4 cars that we had. All in all, it was a great place to stay for a week since everyone was comfortable and we never felt like we were on top of each other.

Big Chill weekend

9 college friends, some of whom hadn't seen each other in 30 years, got together to spend time together. We ate a lot and laughed even more. All in all, we were very pleased with the accommodations. There was plenty of space, the location was perfect, and who could ask for a better view? There were a few logistics that could have been better; some of the expected and advertised amenities were not exactly up to par. Check out instructions were contradictory between what was posted in the house and what was sent via text. I had some early communication issues with the property management but the local managers were communicated timely. The outside garbage cans were fairly full when we arrived. By the time we took garbage out on Sunday night it was nearly overflowing.There were only 2 additional garbage bags in the house. We had to purchase a couple of items for the house that should have been available - namely forks (there were not enough for the number of guests in our group (9) and clearly not the number advertised. Also, we had to purchase propane to use the grill which clearly had not been touched or tested in quite some time. Two of the guys got quite a bit of grease and old propane on their clothes wrestling it out of the grill. A couple of extra dish towels would have been helpful. Other than that, dishware, cups and cookware were plentiful. Lots of books to read. There were a few games. Having access to the third garage bay would have been nice.

Folly vacation

The family enjoyed the beach and Folly Park n general. We had a few issues with the facility. Mainly the washer and dryer wasn’t working properly. The smoke alarm needed new battery. Plus we had to use dirty towels all week because we couldn’t wash them.

Family Vacation 2023

We stayed here for our family vacation, the property was perfect for a beach vacation and close enough to walk to all downtown Folly Beach activitites. Could have used a few more towels (no extras) and kitchen dish towels. Highly recommend this house for large gatherings.

It was a great, but quick, week at the beach. Good family house with lots of gathering spaces and spaces to get away. Enjoyed our days on the beach and evenings on the porch watching the moon and stars.

Family celebration

We love Blue Bayou! Great layout for our family. Kitchen and dining area was great for our meals and cooking. The porches and deck was great. Very close to beach and loved the outdoor shower. We will go back!

Beautiful view’s & plenty of space

Certainly a place to gather friends and family and enjoy the beautiful beach right at your fingertips. Super short walk to downtown area with shops and restaurants. I’ll absolutely return.
