Welcome to Acorn Cottage - a cozy Big Bear retreat blending rustic charm w/ modern comforts. Just steps from Pine Knot trail & minutes from the village, this single-level cabin is ideal for couples, families, & friends:

Tucked away at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in Big Bear Lake, the Acorn Cottage offers a rare blend of historic character and modern comfort. Just steps from the Pine Knot trail in the National Forest, this 85-year-old cabin invites guests to slow down and savor the beauty of the mountains. Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or a longer retreat, this cozy home makes it easy to unwind and reconnect with nature.

Sleeping arrangements
The cottage comfortably hosts up to four guests with two thoughtfully furnished bedrooms. For extra accommodations, the living room sofa turns into a queen bed. In the master bedroom, you’ll find a king-size bed dressed in fresh linens and a new laundry nook with a full-sized washer and dryer for added convenience. The second bedroom offers additional sleeping space, making the home ideal for couples, families, or close friends traveling together. Extra pillows and blankets are provided to ensure everyone rests comfortably.

Indoor comfort
Inside, the cabin balances rustic charm with modern updates. Fresh paint and new luxury vinyl floors brighten the rooms while preserving the home’s vintage feel. A completely renovated bathroom features updated fixtures along with shampoo, conditioner, and shower essentials provided for your stay. The living area is a warm gathering spot with a cozy indoor fireplace, board games, and a TV for quiet evenings in. A small reading nook creates the perfect corner to curl up with a book after a day of hiking or skiing.

Kitchen and dining
The newly updated kitchen comes equipped with brand-new appliances, cooking basics, and thoughtful extras like a blender, coffee maker, and Keurig machine. Guests can prepare meals with ease, from hearty breakfasts to home-cooked dinners. Enjoy your creations at the dining table indoors or carry them outside to the deck or patio for a meal in the fresh mountain air. Wine glasses and barbecue utensils are also on hand for more leisurely evenings.

Outdoor living
Step out onto the large deck each morning to sip coffee surrounded by lodgepole pines, or settle into the fenced patio at the end of the day. Here, a brand-new hot tub awaits, offering a soothing soak under the crisp mountain sky. The outdoor space also features a grill, dining area, and comfortable furniture, creating a private retreat where you can enjoy meals, conversation, or stargazing well into the evening.

Parking Instructions:
The driveway fits up to 2 cars parked in a line. Please ensure vehicles do not block the street or neighboring driveways. Sorry, no garage access.

Please remember these rules are mandated and imposed solely by the CITY and our PERMIT/ORDINANCE which requires property management companies to notify all guests that the CITY requires you to sign a rental agreement and the Good Neighbor Brochure to obtain the code to the property as well as provide a copy in the rental agreement app a copy of Governmental ID that matches the name on the reservation. Please notate these and all rules regarding spa hours, trash removal, noise and dishes being washed are due to our permit and not our rules so please keep this in mind before booking as some guests rate us based on rules we must abide by to rent. We appreciate that they are unique rules please do not review us based on the reviews we need to follow, we appreciate it. The code cannot be sent until this agreement is filled out.

(1) Maximum vehicles and guest occupancy permitted is described in the listing. Any violation is subject to eviction and/or cancellation of your stay. If you need additional parking, please contact us directly.

(2) Big Bear Lake does not allow street parking; they will tow any vehicles parked on the street and any towing fees or fines issued are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.

(3) Excessive noise or loud music heard at the property line is prohibited by the CITY for the consideration of the local residents. The CITY enforces quiet hours from 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM and will send out code enforcement officers to issue fines/and or evict guests for any violations reported. There will be a $300 administrative fine per Code Call for our team to show up as we are required to attend such code call within 30 minus, plus $100 per hour of our time spent for the violation. This is IN ADDITION to any fines issued by Code Enforcement which start at $500 to $5000 per violation.

(4) Dishes - All dishes must be cleaned before leaving and the house must be left in the same condition that you found it in. Any dirty dishes left in the kitchen are subject to a $45 fee- our housekeepers will unload dishes or put them away but do not wash dishes or dump trash per the law this includes leaving dishes with food on them or left in the home. It also attracts vermin. Please note this is part of our permit and not included in cleaning the home after guests leave.

(5) Trash - All trash must be removed offsite to the free trash sites. Any bags or trash left behind in the bathroom, kitchen (including leaving behind items in the fridge, or outside is subject to a $25 per bag for removal this is not our rule - this is the law and we must abide by it as there is no trash service due to wild animals. Please do not review us based on the law. We provide a dump service if you should want to pay in advance, but we have to send a dump service we cannot have housekeepers take the trash as the CITY does not allow this.

(6) Barbecue- Propane is offered on the honor system on any firepit or BBQ. Please do not leave the firepit or BBQ on unattended. Please clean the BBQ after use. If by chance the propane runs out, please let us know and we will send someone to replace it. Please make sure all propane is turned off after use. Big Bear does not allow the use of charcoal of lighter fluid. Please be advised if you run out of propane and it is after hours we cannot promise after hours refills late at night as the stores may not be open.

(7) Pets- The home allows 2 dogs at $85.00 each any pet waste not removed, or urine accidents will be charged at $75.00 starting fee. Please watch you pups at all times due to wildlife and unattended pets can be fined by the city for barking and it is not safe.

(8) Hot Tub – No hot tub use after 10pm per the law any time a spa is left open and the cover off more than 30 mins a fine of $250 per hour will be due plus damages to the spa as this can result in pipes freezing - if a user error or maintenance is found or if we have to dump and fill water prior to your stay due to cleanliness requirements - we cannot be held liable nor grant refunds for a spa not being at the temperature desired or if left uncovered - if we have to dump the water it can take 24 hours for it to warm up. This is out of our control as sometimes the water has to be dumped and can take 24 hours to warm up. This will not be grounds for a refund.

(9) Parties or noise ordinance calls – any parties, events, unauthorized guests or noise complaints will result in immediate eviction with no refund. Any party will incur $5,000 fine plus immediate eviction.

(10) No over occupancy - $500 per person over occupancy fine plus damages plus immediate eviction and subject to code call fines.

(11) No smoking, vaping or drugs inside our cabins at any time. Any evidence of violation is grounds for immediate eviction from the cabin and a $3500 plus damages found at the home.

(12) Please refrain from bringing your own BBQs, Firepits and or outside cooking devices are banned by the CITY due to the fire safety hazards. This is subject to eviction due to this is how fires start.

(13) Due to the mountain location, Big Bear and the surrounding areas are known to have occasional power and internet outages due to circumstances beyond our control. Power outages are usually brief, lasting a few hours or less and the city always tries to work quickly to get it back up and running. There are no refunds at anytime for power or internet outages due to normal mountain conditions, as these are beyond our control.
