Great location and a wonderful outdoor setting. Graduating son and husband loved fishing in pond. Very peaceful and relaxing but close to town! Will definitely try to stay again when back in Starkville!
This was such a unique property! The location is great, the property is so quiet, and the house is just like you stepped back in time. We had such a fun time exploring the house! Itâs in great shape and has all the amenities we needed, but it also has these cool features you donât see anymore, like a xylophone dinner bell (maybe it was actually something else, but we used it as a dinner bell!). This will be a great family memory for us!
We enjoyed our time at this house. Very private and quiet. It was close to everything Starkville has to offer. Older home, but very quaint and as is described. 8 of us were very comfortable. There was plenty of room for everyone. Would definitely recommend if in the area.
The property is so beautiful. It's super quiet and peaceful. You can just relax and unwind. The house is very nostalgic and reminds me of my grandparent's house growing up. There is plenty of space and comfortable accommodations. Perfect to just get away but not far from dining and MSU. Loved our stay!
Came in from out of state for a football game with a group of friends. House was in a good location, not far from campus. Backyard is very nice...good for outdoor games, etc. Property manager was responsive and easy to communicate with.
The house was exactly as described. It reminded us of staying at our grandparents(in a good way). The house was very clean and well taken care of. The property was beautiful. The surroundings were peaceful. It was the perfect location for a couple of old friends to catch up. Melanie was great to deal with. Ryan went out of his way to check the property for an item we left. I would definitely stay at this location again.
Excelent private get away to spend quality time with family
Very nice private place to spend quality time with family. Great pind to swim and fish with crystal clear water.Accomidations were excellent everything you would have at home. Great country get away.
Yes this home is outdated, but what it lacks in upgrades it makes up for in space. The rooms were a good size. AC kept the home very cool on hot, sticky days. The back patio was the perfect place for our family gathering.
Melanie was a great host. She was very accommodating and quick to respond with any questions.
Beware of the ticks...they are no joke and everywhere. Keep bug spray on hand and you'll have an enjoyable stay.
This house is a wonderful place to stay!! It was super clean and very convenient to everything. We had lots of space and everything we needed was there. My kids loved fishing on the property and I enjoyed taking a walk each morning. Communication was easy and efficient with the owner and the hospitality was truly the Mississippi way. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
House is older, but well maintained and had everything we needed to enjoy our family time. Very clean & organized with lots of space within the home. Our family really enjoyed the weekend and tranquility of this home and location.
We had a great time visiting my daughter at MSU with extended family. The house was perfect for us. The outdoor area was great. Wish we could have had more time there!
Our stay for graduation could not have been any more perfect. Our family rented this home so we could all be together and not have pressure to go out to eat or be in a hotel room. This home was amazing and made graduation a special family time. Absolutely loved it! Plus our son loved fishing in the pond.
The house is dated but served its purpose: beds, baths, conversations, convenience, & meals!
The property is quiet, peaceful and pleasant! The house is comfortable and secure. Not fancy but clean, well stocked. If you go soon thereâs a half gallon of Blue Bell vanilla, unopened!!
3 families spent football weekend and had a great time. Melanie was very accommodating and offered us the free night even though we booked earlier in the year. Great time tailgating and relaxing at the house!
The owners are siblings who grew up on this property. Our parents met after college while wroking at MSU and married in 1940. After graduate school at Cornell and our father's tour in WWII, they returned to Starkville. We lived on campus on Magruder Street in faculty housing for a number of years, until they built this home in 1961. Our father retired from MSU in 1978 as Head of the Biochemistry Department. They lived here until the late 90's when they passed away. We hope you will enjoy this home and it's serene location as much as we have.
