cabin was very convenient to campus and yet very private. We loved it and would definitely like to stay again! It was extremely clean and had wonderful accommodations! Canât recommend enough
This was a charming house on a very large lot. Beautiful wooded surroundings. With some wildlife( we saw a fox). There was also games in a different building but we didn't get a chance to really check those out fully. Clean and tidy. Included a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, everything worked as expected. The back patio was a standout. We got some beautiful pictures of our graduates on the grounds and on the back porch and in the house. Super responsive host. The listing says it is 3 mi from campus and while it is back roads, it is about 3 mi to the stone gate. So while it seems like you're far away from everything, you're actually really close to everythingI was a washer dryer. There wa dryer
Plenty of room for our crew of six. Loved the pool table and dart boards. Place was very clean and the owners were very pleasant to deal with. We have to go back to work at Mississippi State next month and will definitely be staying there.
We needed a place to stay while one of our pups had surgery at the vet college. The cabin was perfect! So peaceful and well appointed yet convenient to the school and restaurants. Highly recommend!
Every year myself and 3 friends visit an away football game and this year we traveled to Starkville. The cabin itself was clean, had everything we needed, extremely peaceful being outside of town and on some acreage, but also very convenient to getting into town (approximately 10 minutes).
The check-in process was easy and our host was very accommodating. We had zero issues with the cabin and it is a great property. It had a very cozy ambience and I would certainly return if I've ever back in the area.
Our stay was top notch from arrival to departure and highly recommend this property.
I recently stayed at this amazing cabin, and it was truly a perfect getaway! The cabin was cozy, beautifully maintained, and surrounded by stunning nature. Every detail was thoughtfully considered, from the comfortable furnishings to the well-stocked kitchen. The peaceful atmosphere made it easy to relax, and I especially enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in the evenings.
We had an incredible weekend getaway at the cabin! The service was excellent, and Mr. Russell went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The cabin was cozy, well-maintained, and the perfect escape . We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning in the future. Highly recommend!
We stayed two nights at the cabin and had no issues. We had friends and family over one evening and there was plenty of room at two dining tables, the living room, the front porch and the deck. The bathrooms are nice and the beds were comfortable. Check in and responsibilities upon check out were super easy.
The house was very nice. It is an older place which isnât a problem other than a lack of convenient receptacles. I would definitely stay there again, itâs very accessible to Starkville.
Mother-Daughter trip. Cute cottage. Quiet evenings on the porch just to enjoy each otherâs company. Fur babies loved the country setting too! Close to excellent restaurants and University.
The home is beautiful, clean, quiet, & comfortable for or family. Our stay was great! My oldest daughter transferred to MSU, we got her moved in her 1st own place. Staying here made it easy for us, one for the location, second was able to rest comfortably and relax from all of the busy-ness. The property manager was quick to respond. We will definitely keep them in mind for our next stay in Starkville. Thank you for the hospitality!
The cabin is close to town but far enough to get away from the crowds. It was nice to hear the owls and other wildlife while on the porch at night.
There is only one TV in the available bedrooms which is located in the "kids" room. Cell service is good. The owner was always fast to respond with any questions.I have added it to my places to search for in Starkvegas. Hail State!
Amy and I were both born and raised here in Starkville, MS. We both attended high school at Starkville schools, then continued our education at Mississippi State. After graduating, I began my career in the automotive collision repair industry, and Amy attended The Cayce Reilly School of Massotherapy in Virginia Beach, VA. Amy has been self employed as a massage therapist for 15 years, and I now own Advanced Collision Repair in Starkville. We have 3 young children, and love to travel and discover new places. We enjoy staying in cabins and houses that we find on VRBO, and we are excited to have the opportunity to share our retreat with others.
The land the cabin is on first belonged to my grandfather. He sectioned off the 8 acres and gave it to his sister so she could have a place to build outside of town to get away. Louise and Kenneth Pyron built the cabin on the property in 1968 where Louise would come to paint and read, and Kenneth would come to work on woodworking projects in the adjacent shop. When Louise and Kenneth passed away the cabin went through several hands, until 2010 when Amy and I had the chance to purchase it to reclaim and restore it for what the property was originally intended. We love this property and are excited to share this peaceful retreat with others.
