Enjoy WEEKLY and DAILY stays in a 4-seasons, private lake home on beautiful Little Round Lake near Hayward, Wisconsin. Our cabin is the result of years of heartfelt work to create a warm and comfortable escape in the north woods. The house is surrounded by towering pines and boasts the best view on the lake... although the neighbors claim this as well. We face east and have the joy of breathtaking sunrises year 'round from the living room, dining room, kitchen, lakeside bedrooms and, of course, the deck & screen porch.

Step out the front door and Round Lake is at your feet. Pull your boat right up to the front of the house and watch the kids swim while sitting on our large deck. Serve meals under the pines with a lake breeze at your back.

Each year we spend a full month at our cabin making sure it's in top-notch condition for our guests... most of which have been with us almost 20 years. Our neighbors are like family and everyone feels at home.

Great get family getaway

Great long family weekend getaway! Beautiful place and setting! Weather wasn’t best for us, but found some activities in Hayward for the kids and did have some time enjoying the sandy area by the dock and some kayaking. Definitely a beautiful lake! Thanks for the great stay!

The BEST Cabin on Little Round Lake!

Our family ABSOLUTELY enjoyed our stay at this property. Tim was a GRACIOUS host and attentive to our needs. The cabin itself was pristine. We felt at home during our stay. We will be back!

Little Round Bliss

Our Family has been renting on Little Round or Big Round Lake for many years. Tim and John’s cabin is the nicest, best equipped, homiest cabin we have been in. The cabin is exactly as advertised. We had 6 adults staying in the cabin with grandkids coming to swim most days, we all had a great time.

Everything you need

Very comfortable home on a clear lake. The inside is spotless with amazing attention to detail. The kitchen has enough to support a cooking show. The outside is manicured. The owners are great and looked after our every need. One of the most looked after homes we have been in.

Beautiful cabin and lake

Property and house are beautiful with updated kitchen and bathrooms. Gardens surrounding house are amazing. Kitchen has everything you need and more. Hosts were very accommodating. Lake is quiet for paddling but connected to the larger lake where we water skied and tubed. Quiet, shaded roads for biking. Loved our stay. Didn't want to go home!

Memorial Day 2021

We could not have asked for a better place to stay over our long holiday weekend. The home was immaculate. The lot and gardens were beautifully groomed. The dock and lake were perfect for us to drop our boat in for the weekend. The owners have been doing this a long time and their attention to detail was amazing. They were awesome to work with and were available at anytime for anything we needed. Spectacular experience in every aspect. Thank you!

Wonderful Experience!!!

I would highly recommend the Little Round Lake House. Tim was fantastic to work with and the place is very well decorated and comfortable. From the moment we arrived, from the holiday lights on the fence to the decorations inside and the soft down comforters and pillows, we felt like we were staying at a friend's house and not at a rental. The house is furnished with everything you would need and more. Even though our stay was during the winter ski season, everyone in the party was talking about how fun it would be to stay there during the summer. Any season, the Little Round Lake House is a perfect northwoods getaway.

Fantastic

This lake front house is impeccable, the property is beautifully landscaped with abundant flowers, very well looked after, the interior is decorated with art and pottery. The two artists who own the property have thought of everything. A lot of thought went into running a rental in which nothing is overlooked. A few stairs to your own dock on a clear, clean lake, with loons looking after their territory . If we had a place on a lake I would want it to be just like this.

Amazing cabin

I've rented a lot of cabins in the Hayward and this has been the best we've rented. It is very nicely decorated and comfortable. You feel like you're in a home rather than the most spartan cabin the owner could maintain and still get renters. Normally we have to bring up cookware as the owner provides the bare minimum and we often like to cook a nice meal. Tim's cabin has everything you would need to cook a gourmet meal....including a wine opener (not been in a couple other rentals). The lake is very quiet and the view is superb. Tim and John, the owners, are exceptional people as well. We loved it and we'll be back several times next summer.

Beyond Wonderful

They certainly don’t need anymore positive reviews as they are overflowing on here but I must say that this property is so much more than what the listing shows. Pictures just don’t do this place justice. Every single detail is impeccably attended to. Absolutely gorgeous and the owners are definitely a pleasure to work with. I just can’t say enough about our stay. This Lake home is a steal at the price. Book it! You will not regret it- guaranteed!

Pristine View, Great Attention to Detail, All the extras!

I travle globally for work and seldom to run across a place like this! So warm and welcoming, yet unique and memorable. Owners obviously go to great lengths to keep this property in top-notch condition and have created a one-of-a-kind retreat. High quality furnishings, bedding, linens are joined with artistic elements including home made dishes and original artwork everywhere. No framed prints on the walls or cheesy decor here! And the experience leads from the lake shore to private, groomed walking trails and vegetable garden for the guests. Even a private screen house back in the woods comes with the place! Amazing place. Incredible stay. THANK YOU!

The Perfect Home away from Home getaway

This is the perfect getaway whether you are traveling within a few hours or out of state! Tim has thought about every detail in the house a weary traveler could need....bathroom amenities, laundry amenities, beach towels, fully stocked kitchen, warm comfy beds, the list goes on and on. The cabin itself is so incredibly, charmingly perfect! The pictures online are great, and once you arrive you will fall in love with the picturesque setting. As you walk into the cabin, you overlook the beautiful lake that has a deck with chairs. Additionally, there is a screened in porch, which is perfect for the morning sunrise. Our favorite cabin feature was the fire pit. We roasted marshmallows for S'mores and sat for hours around the fire pit with family. It was perfect! Thank you Tim!

Beautiful home with the best view on Little Round Lake

This by far is our favorite vacation destination! From the moment you step in the door you feel at home. This home has everything you need to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing vacation. You have the best view on Little Round Lake! Wake up in the morning to beautiful sunrises and birds singing. The kitchen has everything you can imagine, even the dishes were made by hand! Each of the three bedrooms are uniquely decorated and have one of a kind homemade headboards. The "Laundry Lounge" in the lower level (complete with a lava lamp) is a great place to enjoy your favorite tunes with a view of the fire pit on those chilly nights. Our family had enjoyed many fun filled days and nights at this lake home and can't imagine staying anywhere else. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

Comfort and Calm

My family has always had good experiences staying in VRBO properties all over the U.S., but this was certainly one of the best! As others have commented, the accommodations are just about perfect and the view, the lake and the surroundings were just what we were looking for in a relaxing and fun family vacation. Heading down to the dock immediately upon arrival, we were treated to a bald eagle swooping down right in front of us to catch a fish. More eagle sightings and the glorious song of the loons made our stay all the more enjoyable. We enjoyed swimming right from the dock, fishing, playing croquette on the lawn, hiking and biking in the area and a lot of time relaxing on the deck overlooking the lake. Tim could not have been more attentive to ensuring that we had a great time at the cottage - from the day I made the reservation to helping me find a boat rental, checking in during our stay right on through to a post-stay email. The next time we head to the northwoods we will definitely be staying at the Little Round Lake House.

Best Vacation Ever

My family and I stayed at the Little Round Lake House this summer for the first time and it totally exceeded our expectations. We've been renting vacation homes in the Northwoods for 20+ years and this was by far one of the nicest homes we've stayed at. The house is absolutely lovely with beautiful bathrooms and attention to detail throughout. We never saw a single bug or spider web which is unheard of in the Northwoods! The location is just outside of Hayward which was very convenient. Tim was wonderful to work with. He told us not to bring much because he had everything there and he was right. He called us upon arrival and even prior to the trip to explain things to us about the home which was most appreciated. What was most special to us was how you could walk around this home and see how much Tim has poured his heart and soul into it having grown up in Hayward. For me personally, that was really sweet as I have been going up to the Northwoods my whole life. It was like coming full circle for me. And as my family can attest, they all said, "This was the best vacation ever!"

Beautiful Lake House

We like to leave vacation rentals better than we find them, but that was impossible with this house. The Little Round Lake House has been in Tim’s family for decades, and his love of the property is evident. It is sparkling clean and super well maintained. The decor and gardens are beautiful. I loved the little extras like Aveda shampoos and cloth napkins! It is the perfect house for relaxing on the deck (no bugs!) with a book or a drink. The house does have a screened-in porch but we never used it. The porch is located off the downstairs bedroom, and it is not convenient to carry drinks or food down the stairs. The dock isn’t large and was a little wobbly, so it was a little hard for more than one person to fish off of it. The water was crystal clear and good for swimming. The house is located in the country outside of Hayward but had a neighborhood vibe to it. Nextdoor neighbors are close, but so quiet you would never know they are there. Tim is a great host. We never had a problem, but he lives across the street and is available if a problem should arise. The internet and television worked flawlessly, which is important if it is a working vacation.

Peaceful Lake Getaway in Luxurious Comfort

Our family has stayed at The Little Round Lake House several times and each year that week has become our favorite week of the year. The location is optimal. The home is nestled in on Little Round Lake. It's quieter than a larger lake and during heavy weather you don't experience the heavy chop of a much larger lake. However, if you want to experience the benefits of a larger lake, Little Round is a short boat ride from Round Lake. The lake house is located far enough from the town of Hayward to provide Up North peace and quiet but is close enough to provide all of the advantages of Hayward. Your hosts, Tim and John have thoughtfully appointed this retreat with every comfort you can think of and many creative ones you've not thought of. The facilities, the decorations, the landscaping, the lighting and electronics, and every accommodation, right down to the linens, have been carefully prepared for your comfort, benefit and enjoyment. There are innumerable outdoor activities in the area. Some of the best fishing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and ATV trails in northern Wisconsin are literally right outside your door. Get up early. Have coffee on the deck and listen to the loons wake up. Fish and ski the day away. Then, take a nap on the screened porch. Grill up a steak on the BBQ for dinner and then relax by the firepit with 'Smores after the sun sets. Wake up the next day and do it again. You'll be a better version of yourself in no time!

Rustic Elegance

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at this lovely home immensely. The attention to every detail made this a step above other homes we have rented and on par with the finest hotels. The home has a real northwoods rustic authenticity complimented by wonderful art, antiques and whimsy. The home itself is incredibly charming combining the foundations of the past with modern upgrades throughout. The appointments (sheets, dish ware, towels, soaps, kitchen utensils etc) are top notch. The incredible privacy the location affords, the variety of areas to enjoy the lake from, the walking trails/garden/screen gazebo, and the attention to every detail make this a very special vacation home. There are neighbors to be sure. The lake has the happy buzz of summer water sports but only during "decent" hours. Mostly, the call of the resident loons, eagles and geese were the most prevalent sounds. The layout of the property, the use of natural plant barriers to shield the home and dock area, and the wonderful lower level screen porch afford a great deal of privacy while maintaining the incredible views of the lake. The dock was in great shape, with padding and tie offs all in place for the boat owner. The water was beautiful with a sandy bottom and a nice slope to about 6' at the end of the dock. A great place for a refreshing swim! Little Round is not a big lake but it is connected to the large and diverse Round Lake which provides great fishing and boating opportunities. Plus Little Round is only about 10 or 15 minutes from Hayward and about 45 minutes from Cable. This makes a Little Round Lake House the perfect home base for exploring the area and enjoying the quiet that nature has to offer.

An Extraordinary Home in a Beautiful Place

Our family spent a week here towards the end of summer. The setting is tranquil and beautiful, close enough to civilization to buy gluten-free pastries but far away enough hear the loons calling nightly. Little Round Lake is sweet and calm, with plenty of cooperative fish swimming around the dock at the bottom of the stairs in the yard. The yard itself is beautiful, framed by flowers and tall pines, with a rustic, boulder-lined firepit surrounded by Adirondack chairs- the perfect spot for roasting marshmallows and watching shooting stars. The house is fully equipped with everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. The kitchen supported all of our culinary adventures- it's clear that the owners are talented cooks- we found every kitchen tool we needed to prepare family meals, which we enjoyed both on the elegant dining table and beneath the umbrella on the deck overlooking the lake. There were plenty of spices in the spice rack to inspire our meals, and a weber for grilling the steaks and burgers. There's a fantastic garden across the road full of tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, onions, and celery which went into our lunches and dinners. Though there is air conditioning in the bedrooms, we never turned it on. The many windows kept the refreshing breezes circulating throughout the house. The bedrooms have king sized beds- a pleasure! And the downstairs bedroom has a stunning bathroom with a spa feel that was cozy and luxurious. On first glance the decor of the house reflects the flavor of the North Woods. But beyond the obvious charm of hand-made stoneware, charming antique furnishings, and whimsical bits of bric-a-brac, there are also modern conveniences like wi-fi, cable tv, and whole- house stereo. But the most wonderful thing about the house was also the most subtle. Though the attractiveness of the design and the stylistic choices reflect the rustic setting, there are also original artworks and ceramics which are uniquely beautiful, echoing the natural beauty of the setting. There are small and large paintings, photographs, ceramic plates, and other expressions of the owners' creativity which enhance the experience of nature, family, and the pleasure of the North Woods. It was a wonderful place to spend a week and I can't wait to go back.
