Frio River 4th of July

The property was very nice in a peaceful setting. No traffic noise, no parties, just a quiet secluded getaway.

Great getaway for my elderly parents

My parents loved the property and spoke very highly of the clean and accommodating cabin. Their only request would be to have a radio or TV for watching or listening to at nighttime. Other than that they had no complaints and are already planning a return trip.

Lovely, quaint cottage off the beaten path but accessible to so many outdoor pleasures!

We had a wonderful time. This cabin is perfect in size, amenities, and the home-like essentials that make for a perfect vacation. Simple with attention to detail in every aspect! We especially loved the back porch and delicious homemade bread! Thank you. We look forward to returning.

So Peaceful!

My family and I originally chose this property because it was one of the last places left anywhere near the Frio, for the Holiday weekend- We were very pleasantly surprised at how perfect it was!! Super cute cabin in the most peaceful place. We were so comfortable! The drive to the river was further than we're used to but it was so breathtakingly beautiful that we would definitely stay here again! We were meeting up with our friends who stayed a couple cabins down (owned by the same host) and that cabin was also so cute and so comfortable!

Great quiet place to relax

I had a great time at the cottage. Its as advertised. Its quaint, disconnected, and you get a sense of the nature around you. If you're a serious cyclist, the 337 route is a challenge. I rode out to Camp Wood and back while I was here. There are some serious hills, but great views. :)

Great property

The property was great so beautiful and peaceful. We loved walking outside, looking at the stars and it was great to come back to a peaceful evening after a day at the river!

Great place!

The cabin was well appointed, comfortable and very clean. The bed was dreamy. Great back porch. I was in the Hill Country for a 1/2 marathon. The only thing I missed was soaking in a hot bath after my run. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely have it on our list for our next visit.

Off the Grid Beautiful

Incredibly clean and cozy with lots of little touches that make a sweet difference...sugar and creamer in the fridge with a little homemade bread sampler!!! Note that there is no TV signal and AT&T cell coverage is none to spotty. Well built and peaceful place to stay!

Thank you for your kind words regarding the Cottage, and reiterating the fact that there is no TV signal and spotty AT&T cell coverage at best (Sprint, Verizon and others are really out of luck). It's important for guests to know that we are in a rural area unmarked by the drain of constantly being plugged in. But isn't that what makes decompressing possible? Come prepared and you'll appreciate truly getting away!

Quiet little cabin

Greeted with personal welcome sign and yummy mini banana bread. Kitchen was stocked well and had everything we needed for our grilled dinner. Bed was very comfortable and sheets were super soft. Cabin was very clean and free of creepy crawlers. Only complaints were the lack of WiFi and no soap in shower. Owners live across from cabins and run this VRBO so why cabins don’t have access to their WiFi was worrisome being we left children at home with sitter. They do give directions to drive somewhere for WiFi. Would recommend for a short trip or overnight stay.

Thank you for taking time to review our property. I appreciate the opportunity to address your complaints. We do provide body wash instead of bar soap because it is cleaner and doesn't leave a residue which is better for the septic systems, makes cleaning the showers easier and is better for your skin. We receive so many comments from guests who enjoy not having the distractions of the internet and that is the main reason we do not have it at the cabins. Another reason we do not have internet at the cabins is that it is very poor within our own house and would be even worse such a long distance from the router. Most people who choose to stay at the cabins are looking to get away, not be frustrated. As you mentioned we do live on the property and we are available to relay messages should you have an emergency arise. We hope that you will return in the future with the whole family.

Super cute, clean and efficient!!!

Nestled neatly close to Lost Maples State Park and close enough to Garner State Park that you can have fun in both like we did 😊 hiking LMSP and swimming in Frio River in the PM. Cottage is perfect with everything you need for a weekend! Highly recommend!!! Oiesen Family

My husband and I were celebrating our 33rd anniversary and wanted a relaxing getaway

The Cottage was lovely and romantic ! It was just the relaxing escape we were hoping for. It was very clean and charming and had everything we needed. We loved the porch and really enjoyed sitting out and watching the stars. We had a wonderful time!
