The bay is just a block away, and the famous Carson Mansionâone of the most photographed Victorian homes in the worldâis right around the corner. For day trips, youâre about 10 miles from Arcata and Cal Poly Humboldt, 20 miles from the Victorian village of Ferndale, and 47 miles from Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park, home to majestic redwood forests.
