My family stayed here for a summer getaway. It was very comfy, had everything we needed, and right near everything we wanted to do. We walked to the beach a million times, we fished at the marina, we walked into town. We were happy we got to bring our dog with us. Great time!
We've stayed at this house 2 years in a row. Easy walk to the beach and downtown. Perfect house for relaxing or place to stay when making short trips to outer towns.
The home is older but it is a clean and well kept property in an ideal location. The owner is very responsive should you need anything during your stay. We were in town for a family wedding and this home worked out well for us.
The location was great, we could walk to the beach, the downtown, the marina, all within 4 blocks or so from the house.
We love historic houses like this, & it had about anything you might need to prepare a meal or cook on the grill, just bring your food.
We enjoyed our stay. The home is very interesting with some vintage decor. It is in a beautiful setting a few blocks to the beach & the marina. My husband liked watching the Badger come in from WI. I loved walking the neighborhood. All of the crab trees were in bloom-so pretty! Hope to be back.
I had been hearing about Ludington from two different friends who had been visiting Ludington for 60+ years. Ludington didnât disappoint! Charming people and town. The Dock House was a perfect location, clean, neat and the owner was very responsive when needed. Everything the description indicated!
We initially intended to head out of town to ride ATV trails but found the house so comfortable and convenient we spent more time in town than planned.
Watched the parade from a block away and fireworks from the front porch. Was blessed with enough space for a couple games of cards with friends as we waited for the fireworks.
Would recommend and may rent again.
This property is ideally located within the city. It was an easy walk to downtown, the city marina, and the city beach and park. The lower part of Dock House is definitely themed for the lake and contained everything we needed. It was just two of us, and although it contained beds for 5, we think it would seem small unless kids made up some of that number. We cooked for most of our meals and there were pots, pans, utensils, and dishes for everything we made. We hope to be back!
Wonderfully sandwiched between the beach, marina, and downtown, we could walk anywhere we wanted to go. Cute historical home with the charms and quirks of an older property. We loved it! Good value, easy check in and out. We didn't really need to communicate with the owners bc we had what we needed.
My only observation is that the master bed is a double, not a queen, if that makes a difference. We saw it listed as both in different listings.
Ludington is beautiful and we felt welcome and at home in the Dock House.
Our family of 5 stayed at The Dock House for 3 nights while in town for a wedding. Had everything we needed for our stay. Loved walking the dog by the marina or along the shore where we could see the lighthouse. Walking distance to great food and shops as well.
This house has old charm, but still provides the needed conveniences. Would stay again for sure.
Great communication- from my inquiry prior to booking our stay, through our departure.
Had a little hiccup with access upon arrival and Brian was on top of it right away. Thanks for a great experience! Hope to see you again in the future.
This was our 3rd year staying here. We enjoy every minute of the place. Easy walk to the beach, watching the Badger come in and out and close to many attractions.
We loved the location, but, the house itself needs a few things "fixed". Kitchen bathroon hot water faucet doesnt work. Living room bathroom faucets too short for sink that is there, hard to wash hands. Front steps and handrailings need repair. Stove's bottom panel hanging off. We loved the location, but the house needs some TLC.
The Dock House is a charming, roomy, well-appointed house with a lovely front porch located close to all the fun things to do in Ludington. We very much appreciated that they are dog-friendly.
Enjoyed this property. Was affordable and as described. Great location for walking over to view Badger departing and arriving. Quiet. Everything we needed. Saw deer right across the street daily.
Brian and Cindy Wheeless bought their first vacation home in Ludington in 2008 after spending 20+ years vacationing in Northwest Michigan. They are avid outdoors people that enjoy the big lake fishing, golf, off-roading and hiking. Brian has recently retired and they both started Ludington Cottage Rentals in 2018.
