The house is a great gathering spot for a group. With four bedrooms and eight beds there was plenty of room for our group of seven to sleep. The open kitchen area right off the family room worked great for meals, games and snacking. Everyone wants to return for another girls weekend!
This was the perfect place to stay for our ladies week out. We played many games at the dining table, enjoyed the peaceful setting, and made several trips into Shipshewana. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedrooms were a nice size. We didn't watch TV or play any DVDs but there were plenty available. I think you'll be pleased if you stay here. There was also a great play set for kids and numerous toys available. Would be a wonderful place for a family!
Came into town for a grandsons wedding with several members of our family. We enjoyed the property and had plenty of room for all. It would be nice to have luggage stands in the rooms however and at least some place to hang clothes in a couple of the bedrooms that did not have closets.
Audra replied asap whenever I had a question and also allowed us to check in early as we had a wedding in the afternoon to get ready for. Couldnât figure out the downstairs tv; Ryan called and he walked me through things until we got it working. Very nice hosts and property!
This was a great house for our family ladies getaway. Our destination was Shipshewana, IN and it was a quick easy drive to go back and forth.
The loft area allowed for another bedroom. But there is no lighting control up there. It would be nice to have a lamp up there so you're not maneuvering the steps and space in the dark.
There were a number of burned out lightbulbs and we never found the black recycling container so ended up throwing the recycling into the garbage.
My friends and I wanted to do something special for our 10 year Fantasy Football Anniversary. Our lives have changed drastically in the past decade and we wanted to take the weekend to celebrate that together. The Holmestead proved to be the perfect location. Spacious, inside and out. The lounge/bar area in the basement was the perfect draft location while our families played yard games and hung out upstairs.
If you plan to grill, bring charcoal. There is a Meijer 10 minutes from the house, which was very convenient.
Overall, we were very pleased. I am already planning a return trip in January for a Friendsgiving Dinner.
Good variety of sleeping arrangements. Nice deck, yard and playground for younger kids. Somewhat close to the road and no campfire allowed even though there is a pit. A/C and amenities in good working order. Interesting to be so close to Amish country, and the lake looked nice on our walk, although we didn't have time to get on the water.
