Serene views with full lakeside windows for perfect picturesque lake setting experience. Swans not guaranteed but frequent the lake just yards from the water's edge. Enjoy the studio suite with private entrance, jacuzzi and hot tub experience after fishing, kayaking on the lake. Kitchenette, wi-fi internet, flat screen, air conditioning and electric fireplace for a cozy getaway experience.

This lock-off apartment connects to the main residence. For your privacy, the connecting access is secured from both sides with locks similar to what you find in an adjoining hotel rooms . Property is equipped with motion detector lights and security cameras at the front and back entrance of the property..

Our location provides easy access to Shipshewana's Amish tourism and Notre Dame's campus and football games.

Location was perfect. On deadend road with less than a dozen houses, so was very quiet and not a lot of traffic. Lakefront property was serene and lake was calm. We had 2 swans visit us several times each day. We did not fish but used the dock to access the 2 kayaks daily. Life jackets and paddles/oars available dockside. The hot tub was relaxing and the perfect temp even though all the jets/functions weren't working-but we were made aware of it's limitations prior to check in. Unit/apartment was clean. Easy check in process.

We had a wonderful weekend get away. Lake Michigan Warren Dunes were a little over an hour away to start our vacation. A trip to Shipshewana where we took in a play and interesting shops was another nice side trip. A wonderful dinner at River Lake Inn in Colon, MI with a delightful walk through their gardens was another side trip. Each day we were welcomed back by the clean and relaxing setting at the Sturgis cabin on the lake with soothing hot tub. There was shopping at Meijer nearby and local eateries. Would definitely come back.

This place is our normal go to, very beautiful. Unfortunately this time last time (and this time) around we had issues. Last time the jacuzzi was having water that was yellow. They fixed that after our stay thankfully ! This time around we specifically asked to make sure the hot tub was up and running as this was a deal breaker between two spots (one with a hot tub and one not). They stayed yes. When we got there, this was not true. The breaker was having issues with the hot tub and it was only setting at 88 degrees and would not stay on long enough for the hot tub to warm up. I immediately messaged the host. They said they would refund me for the inconvenience. I was super grateful. As they said this they also asked if I could trouble shoot some things to get it to work. I used the weekend to try to help them trouble shoot here and there. Updating them the whole time. We were NOT able to use the hot tub more than an hour the whole weekend. They stated they’d give us a refund and then messaged us after the fact and said 50 dollars. I told them this was unacceptable as they stated the hot tub (the main attraction in winter time) was up and running when in fact it was not (I gave them photo evidence at the time off the stay - the whole weekend). I messaged them back and said I think we would need a little bit more of a refund consider the cleaning fee is 40 alone. They have ghosted me since and haven’t even given me the 50 refund they said after the fact. Very disappointing.

Serene Lake stay

Wonderful place to unwind and just be. We had issues trying to figure out how to empty the water for the air conditioner but Tim was very prompt in helping us with that. It would be helpful to have railing by the steps that go into the apartment for older people. We didn't find a hair dryer which was listed as being available. Other than that, it was a great stay.

Love whenever I stay here ! Last time I was not able to use the jet tub but since then they fixed it thankfully !! Anything that is wrong, or comes up, they fix it or make things better asap. Awesome people

Due to heavy rains the docks were not in and water was very high. Very quiet and peaceful. Dorm size fridge and single portable electric cooktop and only microwave oven. Entry steps could use a handrail. Still a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

We are Tim and Mary Beth Brondyke from Sturgis Michigan. Tim is a chronic DIYer, and Mary Beth is understanding of that. He couldn't pass up the opportunity to flip this lake cottage in 2018, did an outstanding job, and we have been enjoying the beautiful sunsets and swan drama ever since. We are so excited for you to experience this space as well.
