This is the 2nd time we stayed at this place, the first being 4 years ago for our oldest sons graduation we brought him and a few friends up and now 4 years later our youngest has graduated and also wanted to bring a few friends for a week stay and for some core memories to be made and that goal has been achieved! The house is perfect as is the lot of land itâs on, itâs nice a shallow by the dock so itâs great for little ones if you have them and lots and lots of fish! The balcony is perfect, I spent a lot of time out there crocheting and enjoying the view of the lake and the birds singing!
We LOVE staying at the Lake House every summer. It is a great location; it has excellent amenities and accommodations. We love the location, too. It is close to a small store and ice cream stand. It is the perfect summer vacation home!
We could have not picked a better home or location. Very large home that was so cozy and comfortable with a wonderful lake front view. roasting marshmallows in the firepit with the kids while enjoying the feeling of peacefulness and tranquility. The host was very considerate and even brought some toys for the kids to play with in the lake. Around the lake are both a deli and and a restaurant. Was a wonderful visit.
We enjoyed our weekend at Lake Dunmore while visiting one of our children in the area. House was perfect for the occasion with everything you need. Enjoyed early evening on the dock as well as time around the outdoor fire pit after dinner. Hopefully we can visit again!
Love-love-loved this house. Perfect size for our family!! Private yet not constricted. Lakefront and peaceful!!! Clean and spacious!! Hopefully can coordinate renting again.
We have returned for many years to stay at this camp. Enough space to comfortably fit us all-we've been up to 9 people. Always clean and well maintained but just rustic enough. Great spot on the lake for swimming, kayaking, etc.
We had an awesome stay here! The water access was perfectâsuper safe for everyone and nice and shallow with a sandy bottom all the way to the end of the dock. The big grassy yard was great for running around, and the kids loved the toys and books inside. There's also a lot of space indoors for them to run around, which was a huge bonus.
The only small downside was the stairs inside. Theyâre pretty steep, so we had to get creative to block our 1.5-year-old from getting near them, but it wasnât a huge deal.
All in all, we had a fantastic time, and we'd definitely stay again!
We had a great time! We stayed for a week with our three kids. Friends came to visit during the day and everyone had a blast fishing and swimming off of the docks. Two full bathrooms was great, not many camps have this. Weâre trying to figure out what we we want for summer of 2024.
This family cabin is a wonderful place for stay. I did an extended stay and it felt like home instantly. The owners are great people and met my needs before i knew they were needs. The master bed was so comfortable. The fireplace in the winter really warmed the place. The view to the lake is spectacular. I can only imagine how great it is during the summer months swimming in the lake and having bonfires. I highly recommend.
Visited with several friends celebrating birthdays and visited our local friends at the Wild Fern in Stockbridge. The house was a bit far but well worth it for a party of 7. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of heat for our January stay. Great propane fireplace and plenty of seating. The kitchen was stocked well enough for a professional chef to cook us all dinner. We had a great time, highly recommended.
The home is a very comfortable and clean, with plenty of room. The real winner is the view. We sat in comfy Adirondack chairs and looked at the lake and mountains for hours. The bedrooms are simple and clean, and the master has a small deck overlooking the lake. I wish it were mine!
My family (5 adults & 2 teenagers) stayed at this beautiful home over Labor Day weekend while in Vermont for a very special wedding. We could not have been happier with our choice. From the moment we arrived to an unlocked door (keys on the kitchen counter) we felt right at home. It was obvious that this place has been cared for & loved. There was plenty of room for all of us & the very well stocked kitchen ( maybe the best ever) was a godsend. We were so busy all weekend that we didnât really have time to thoroughly enjoy the wonderful backyard with 10 Adirondack chairs around the firepit, the dock & the lake! The neighborhood is very quiet & thereâs a great little store within easy walking distance. Did I mention the great views form the rivate deck off the master bedroom?
We sincerely hope that we will be able to return for a longer stay.
Friendly, quiet neighborhood. Great part of Vermont. Everyone is friendly. The neighbors backyards are knit in quite close but it's not a problem since the folks are so friendly and welcoming. We didn't see one mosquito which is impressive. You have plenty of space inside on the porch or in the well-kept well kempt back to spread out. The dock provides a nice opportunity for a view of Mt Moosalamoo. The green grass leads you right into a nice step down into the lake. No pointy rocks. It's right out of a glossy magazine. You'll spend most of your time dipping right into the sandy bottomed lake. Kids can spend hours swimming and hanging out in the shallow water. About 40 feet out the seaweed starts to pop up. But it's no biggie just bring a floatie and you'll be fine. The house is nicely designed and the living room area makes use of some beautiful old barn beams. The bedrooms are all you need. The mattresses are ...okay. The master bedroom has a view of the lake with a fun balcony for sitting and relaxing. Grill worked perfectly and the kitchen is complete. I would absolutely recommend this house to a group or family, especially with kids, who are trying to snag a piece of Lake Dunmore for a nice week. I can guarantee you'd have an amazing trip.
Our group of two families (4 adults, 5 kids under 7) spent three nights here in June during our Middlebury reunion. It's a nice location and there are plenty of bedrooms. The lake view is beautiful and lawn with Adirondack chairs was fantastic, but unfortunately the dock was broken / falling into the water and not safe (as noted by the owner). The house is a bit rustic and there are no instructions for how to use the wall AC units; plenty of fans kept us cool. Stairs are quite steep and would be difficult for anyone with less mobility. The water pressure is not good, esp the upstairs shower, so we all showered downstairs. We had to buy our own detergent, but washer/dryer worked well. The kitchen had everything we could have needed, which we appreciated, and two fridges gave plenty of storage for food and beverages. Kids loved the old foosball table and games provided!
Let me first say that Middlebury is beautiful! We found a coffee place, little seed coffee roaster, which had great coffee and the shops around there was nice for a little walk.
Owner does not respond to messages once deposit is paid and only sends payment reminders for balance. There is no manual or instructions to anything in the home. It was not until the second day we figured out each heater had a knob to adjust for heat. Home has a small hot water tank that was not enough for 7 people to shower even with breaks in between. Water pressure in upstairs bathroom is very low and becomes no pressure if someone puts the shower on in the downstairs bathroom. Water is Luke warm when showering at all times. Not ideal for winter months. Light is broken in one of the rooms. Handle for master bedroom balcony door is broken. No detergent to wash any sheets or blankets if you feel like they were not clean prior to getting there. Parking is limited, be try narrow street. Parked by the front door of home.
Owner surprised us with a contract on the counter and per her instructions on vbro she would be by to meet us and pick up contract but no one showed up.
Positives on the home- fire place was really nice. Summer time would be nice because home is right by the lake. I did not see any AC but lots of fans in the home. There is a Creamee place waking distant that may be open in the warmer months.
Would definitely visit Vermont again and learn from this rental experience.
I am a repeat renter due the wonderful owners and the spectacular location of the house. I also love all the amenities. It is safe and fun for children of all ages. We always have a blast! I look forward to our visit every year!!
Overall this property was just as I was hoping/expecting. Small things that didnât really change the enjoyment of our trip but would have been nice: We couldnât locate the paddles for the kayaks or the bags for cornhole. It would have been helpful to have a sheet with the location of these items, as well as the controller for the a/c. My husband finally found it buried in a drawer half way through our trip. Prior to that we had to shut the breaker off so it wouldnât run anymore. As other reviews have said, it is roomy and open so it it great for larger parties. It is close to Middlebury for grocery shopping shopping and Kampersville Store is walking distance.
This was out third year and it was a wonderful as the previous years. This is a perfect house for a family with children. We can't wait to return next summer! Also, the host family is kind and very accommodating! We just love it spending our summers on the Lake!
We stayed here as a graduation gift for our son and a few of his friends. The house was perfect for what we were looking for, downstairs is completely open so they could all participate in any conversation going on no matter where they were downstairs! Bedrooms are all upstairs and good sized so plenty of room for everyone! Lake was super warm in a no wake zone so very calm and shallow enough that my 5 year old nephew could touch up to the end of the dock! House is on a private road so not a lot of traffic. Great fire pit with lots of chairs around it. I know when my younger son graduates we plan on going back and my 12 year old niece wants a graduation gift just like her big cousins!!
Our lake house has hosted many family gatherings and holds memories of 16 Grandchildren spending summers there. We purchased the property from our family estate in 2013 and have made updates each year since. The product now is a great space with all the comforts of home! We live a few towns away and look forward to sharing our special place with other families. Our family operates a farm by trade and our lake house is built from some of the beams from one of our original dairy barns! You will love the charm and character of our family lake house!
This property has been in our family now for three generations. We hope to enjoy it for generations to come. The fourth generation of our family is making memories in the waters of Dunmore! The neighborhood has a mix of seasonal and year-round residents. The road doesn't get much traffic and is great for children to ride bikes and going for a leisurely walk.
Our lake house has remnants of our family farm. We have an exposed beam that is from our old dairy barn in the living room and the Panton stone that makes up the fireplace is hand chosen and moved from the field from farmland in Vergennes. Our lake house beams with character and will remind you of a country chalet. We have one of the nicest beaches on the lake. Our water access has a nice sandy beach and great area for swimming. You will find a great space to relax and watch little ones swim where the water isn't too deep.
