If you're looking to get close to nature, this cozy cabin is just right! We saw an armadillo, a turtle, so many woodpeckers, and lots of deer! Everything was just as described and we were very comfortable. The power went out briefly during bad weather, but the cabin is so well organized, we quickly located a flashlight (and backup batteries. Thank you for sharing your home with us! It was just what we needed!
Thank you, Gale for allowing us to enjoy your cozy cabin. It was in the perfect location for enjoying all that Sewanee has to offer! We hope to be back again soon.
Very comfortable stay in a beautiful recreation spot!
This house had everything we were looking for for our stay in Monteagle - beautiful surrounding woodlands, comfortable welcoming cabin, the owners have really made this feel like home!
Cozy Cabin was just as described and served us well for our Class Reunion Weekend during Homecoming at the University of The South. Four of us were each able to have our own sleeping spaces and easily shared the bathrooms. The close proximity to the Clifftops entry/exit gate was also so convenient. I would happily come back to Cozy Cabin for future visits to the area.
We had a wonderful time escaping to the woods of clifftops. The cabin was indeed cozy and a welcome retreat for our whole family. Would love to stay again!
We absolutely loved our stay at Cozy Cabin. It was very comfortable and easy to find in Cliff Tops, which can be a bit of a maze. We enjoyed using the lake, and our kids really had fun with the kayak and paddle board. It was beautiful and so relaxing!
Great stay with my family and pup. Cozy is the right word for this place! Itâs lived in and loved by families and dogs, well appointed kitchen, comfy beds. The couches could be updated but I get and appreciate that this is a dog friendly cabin! Lovely host, gorgeous area, and we loved the pool and lake, as always. My kids loved the couple of toys and games and the bunkbed. We will come back to this sweet cabin to reset and I look forward to that outside porch when we do! Thank you for a lovely stay.
Cozy is just the beginning. Very comfortable and âlived inâ but not worn out at all. Good amenities. Easy to access; check in instructions were perfect. Such a wonderful location and great hosts. Would stay again without hesitation!
Very nice property. Rain did not allow us to take advantage of the nice outdoor amenities. We toured the Sewanee campus (scenic overlooks, charming old homes and school buildings) and visited Natural Bridge. Great place for families, hikers and nature lovers. Lots to see and do in the area.
Cozy cabin is in a very nice community and there is much to see and do in the area.
We loved our stay! The cabin is very organized with everything you need. Very confortable beds, kitchen with everything you need. Beautiful view of the woods. We loved using the canoe and kajak. Very close to nice hiking spots!
This was the perfect cabin for our family of 5! It was my 25th reunion and the entire family came along. The sleeping options were so nice, and the cabin was clean and neat. The wooded lot felt secluded, while being close to so much happening on the Mountain. Great cabin!
Cabin was very well stocked. Some confusion with the TV remote but it just needed batteries. The owner was immediately responsive to all questions and requests.
The Cozy Cabin was perfect for my family and friends. The kitchen was well-equipped; the fire pit was fun; the canoe was awesome, and Gale helped us out with missing keys right away. Convenient to Sewanee's campus and Monteagle, near the entry of the neighborhood but still feels like the middle of the woods. Overall, a little piece of mountain paradise!
My husband and I traveled to the area to spend a day with our daughter and grandson who is a little over 2.
It was an amazing weekend. Had a blast with kids and still had a most relaxing weekend for ourselves. House is perfect for families or couples. LOVED the wood burning fireplace. Everything was perfect and even the weather worked out for us !!! Owner was wonderful to work with and we will definitely be back soon ! Thanks Gale for a wonderful weekend !!!
We had the pleasure of being the first guests to the Cozy Cabin, staying over the 4th of July weekend in 2013. The cabin was perfect! My husband and I traveled with three 13 year old girls and a 5 year old boy. Everyone had a wonderful trip, even though it rained almost the entire time we were on the Mountain. Since several items on our agenda (hiking to Bridal Veil Falls, the air show on the 4th, and several scheduled outdoor concerts during the weekend) were rained out we spent more time than we planned inside at the cabin. There were plenty of games, puzzles, and a deck of cards to keep everyone occupied. There was even a lovely selection of books fit for teens - I did suggest that the girls read a book, but I didn't get anyone to actually read one. :) The owners told us there was a Red Box at the Dollar General and we used it twice. The TVs at the cabin aren't fancy, but the one downstairs has a nice sound system hooked into it and it was perfect for our uses.
The cabin had a washer and dryer which are older machines, but they handled our multiple loads of soaked clothes perfectly (the parade, the arts & crafts show, and the fireworks went on as scheduled even though it was raining). Instead of having a picnic and a concert, we ended up visiting the nearby Piggly Wiggly and getting dinner to make at the cabin. The kitchen was well stocked and I was able to cook dinner without any trouble.
We planned to eat at Shenanigan's while on the Mountain, but found it closed (the building is for sale). We ate at the Blue Chair which we found to be delightful! Wonderful milkshakes, too! We also ate at the dining hall on campus twice - yum!
The girls enjoyed "hanging out" in the screened porch, and everyone enjoyed the sound of rain on a tin roof. My son enjoyed the freedom to ride his bike up and down the long driveway, too! (The driveway isn't really that long, but when you are 5 and used to having a standard concrete driveway in suburbia, the cabin's gravel driveway winding through the trees seems like an adventure. Especially if Mom lets you ride in the rain.)
The cabin is perfect for a family with children. Plenty of room for kids upstairs with the master bedroom downstairs. The 4 kids fit easily upstairs, we could even have accommodated a few more.
The Sewanee area is a beautiful place, we miss living on the Mountain (we are both Sewanee alums) and truly enjoyed our visit - even with the rain. We can't wait to come back next year for the 4th of July
I reserved this listing with a group of friends who were hiking the Fiery Gizzard Trail together. This property is just AMAZING! We loved it!! It is located is this really cool âneighborhoodâ that is heavily wooded with trails all through it and an impressive community garden. The rental also includes access to a kayak and canoe and other fun things to use in the water. The property owners were fantastic to work with, very responsive and kind. We really enjoyed the space! I spent some time in the hammock, and it was so rejuvenating. Thereâs also a fire pit we had wanted to use, but we just ran out of time and energy. We hope to come back again sometime and give ourselves more time to enjoy everything; itâs definitely a whole vacation in and of itself!
We just bought this cabin after falling in love with Clifftops. We are swimmers, runners, cyclists, tennis players, paddlers, and fisherpeople. Clifftops had all our favorite activities in a beautiful community.
We like this property because it is near the front of the Clifftops development which gives easy access to trails, restaurants, and The University of the South. It is also at the end of a cul-de-sac which is an asset when little ones want to play.
Running out the backdoor onto a trail is a thrill for me and my dogs. Being allowed to swim a mile in a clear, clean, lake knowing I won't get creamed by a motor boat is fantastic. Being able to pull our canoe or kayak off the rack and paddle a couple of miles and fish for bass makes for a perfect evening activity.
