Secluded 2 Bedroom Retreat w/great family room on Sewanee Campus
House with great room with soaring cathedral ceiling and stone fireplace. Kitchen wing with cozy den and half bath. One bedroom with queen sized bed and the other with a king sized bed.
The home is available during University sponsored or approved events.
Our host was very attentive and the house was great. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped. They had coffee, creamer and snacks for us available which was very welcoming. It was a quick stay with our boys but very easy and a great location.
This may be my very favorite place to stay when visiting Sewanee. There's plenty of room, it is clean, comfortable and completely charming. Can't wait to come back in April!
Stayed here for Lessons & Carols with my husband, son & DIL. It was perfectâŠso much room, very confirtable and a great location. You canât beat a sunset at The Cross! We will definitely stay here again.
Perfect space for our crew to stay for the weekend. A 2 minute walk to the Perimiter Trail and a 4 minute drive to the heart of campus. Great room and dining space perfect for the 4 of us to visit.
This is the second time we've stayed here. It is fantastic to be able to stay on the mountain when visiting our Sewanee student and watching baseball. The cottage is so very charming that I almost hesitate to leave a rave review, because I'd really like it all to myself.
Great location for a visit to Sewanee before our son starts school there in the fall. Hiking trails close-by & 1 mile from campus. Would definitely recommend.

Disappointed
The location is great and the inside of the house is clean, but the house has a LOT of deferred maintenance issues. Mold in a number of places on the outside wood part, rotted wood, etc. The main thing that got us is the moment we opened the front door, the house smelled of mold and mildew. I was told by the Owner that when the dehumidifier stopped, to empty the water tray. Well, the dehumidifier was stopped when we walked in. I donât know how long it had not been running. We emptied the dehumidifier water tray three times while we were there for two nights. No wonder the house smelled of mold and mildew! My girlfriend, who is a very successful residential real estate agent in Atlanta, and is used to dealing with issues like this, was concerned about breathing the air inside the house! The Owner said the crawl space is encapsulated and there is a dehumidifier in the crawl space also, but whatever the problem is, the interior of the house just stinks. It is not pleasant staying in a house with that smell. Also, there was broken glass right in the middle of the driveway. These were big chunks of broken glass. The kind that can get caught in your tire treads and cause a flat. When I told the Owner, she said she wasnât aware and would have the maintenance people check it out next week! How about cleaning it up immediately while we are there so we donât have to drive around it to keep from getting a flat! Advice. Stay at The Sewanee Inn or some other house!!!
