This is the perfect getaway for a family, couples, or friends trip. So much to do, you almost don’t want to leave the property.

This is an amazing house with beautifully decorated, comfortable rooms. The beds were comfortable and the slide in the kids room was an enormous hit. My family truly enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, oil and vinegar. The sauna and hot-tub were wonderful and well maintained. I am sure we will be back

This was an amazing house for our family!! Everything was perfect. We had from adults to 9 year olds, and everyone was comfortable. There was even an extra bedroom. We had 14 people and we were all entertained. The kitchen was very well appointed with all of the amenities needed. We cooked every meal except one there. Iwas even able to take my little dog. Loved this property and made fantastic memories.

The hot tub was emptied and refilled before we got there, which was very appreciated. Everything was clean. There was a stocked coffee bar on every floor. The game room was fantastic. The movie room was amazing The kitchen had everything we need (the only thing we couldn't find was the crock pot). I really can't say enough about how amazing the ammenities were.

What a great weekend and a great house for a family retreat. There was plenty of room for our 8 adults and 7 children. Always a challenge to keep children occupied., But the game rooms, movie room, hot tub and sauna didn't disappoint. Cheryl information package covered all aspects of the house, which we have found over the years to be the biggest challenge in renting and not knowing the lay of the land. She also gave local information for activities which is always helpful. the house was spotless, the beds were cleaned and the kitchen was well stocked. We would definitely recommend The Pleasant Pause. Great job.

The sauna operates on a one-hour heating cycle and can be restarted as needed — instructions are provided in our online guide, and we’re always happy to help if questions come up. JMU graduation- May 2026 My family of 12, from grandparents to adult children stayed here for 3 nights. It was the perfect location with an easy drive to campus, local shops and restaurants, The house was perfect-very clean, spacious and well stocked with anything you would need, (Coffee makers and k-cups on every floor!) There was something for everyone to enjoy, The game room was a huge hit with poker table, foosball table, video games, karaoke and more. The movie room, hot tub and stream-room were also perfect for people when they just wanted to chill and relax-plenty of towels provided. The kitchen had plenty of dishes, glassware, silverware and anything you would need to cook and serve meals, We also enjoyed grilling on the back deck.Cheryl was a very attentive host who reached out to ensure we had everything we needed, and we did! This was an amazing house where we celebrated our special event and made wonderful family memories! Would definitely stay here again!

We had an absolutely amazing time at The Pleasant Pause! Everything was exactly as described — and even better in person. The home was spotless, beautifully decorated, and stocked with everything we could possibly need (and more!).The location was perfect — less than five minutes to Massanutten Waterpark, golf, hiking, and so much more. The house provided the perfect escape for our families to relax, unwind, and have fun together.Our host was fantastic — quick to respond, friendly, and clearly takes great pride in providing guests with a worry-free getaway. They truly thought of every detail to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free.We loved every part of the home, inside and out — from movie nights together and evenings around the firepit, to relaxing in the hot tub and laughing as the kids went down the slide from the top bunk! The game room was a huge hit and offered endless fun for everyone.We would 100% stay here again and highly recommend The Pleasant Pause to anyone looking for a comfortable, fun, and relaxing getaway.
