Quiet Little Cabin

Our family and a couple of the kids friends enjoyed the cabin while we attended the Big Ticket music festival in Gaylord. The cabin was comfortable and clean. We did little more than sleep in the cabin at night and then up and out in the morning and it more than met our needs for the price.

Great short getaway in the snow

Came up with friends who have property in Lakes of the North. Was perfect for what we needed! Communication with the owner was above and beyond. Kitchen was well stocked for our needs, comfortable house and slept well.

Nice place

The pool was being remodeled so the kids weren’t able to use the water park wasn’t aware of that till we got there.. a lot of bugs an a musty kinda of smell inside.. the yard was full of leaves I thought it could have been cleaned up a little better. But all in all it was decent just a few things that could have been done to be better .. family a friends had a good time regardless.

We loved being up north, the cozy wood burner, proximity to skiing, and the kids loved the pool!

Judy was a great communicator. It took us a minute figure out the heat but she responded immediately to help us get settled. The movie selection was great and the kids really enjoyed the movies. The club house seems really new and well maintained with a huge hot tub and even a water slide. We were definitely in the snow belt and enjoyed down hill skiing at Tree Tops. The kitchen is small but fully stocked! Great family up north get away!

Awesome family vacation

We stayed here for a long weekend as a family of seven (four adults, two kids and one teenager). Plenty of sleeping arrangements for everyone to have their own room. Location was quiet and private. Close to lots of smaller lakes and Lake MI beaches. The clubhouse was amazing and staff were super friendly. The property had more than you could possibly need (i.e. cleaning supplies, kitchen disposable storage stuff, etc… even multiples of things) so pack as lightly as possible and be ready for a bit of clutter. I had no troubles with reception. Check in and out was simple and smooth and communication was excellent. We had a wonderful time here over the weekend of the 4th.

Spur of the moment Getaway

We had a great time at the Chalet. It was perfectly close to everything we needed but also perfectly away from everything which gave you that in the middle of the woods feeling. Especially since there is limited to no cell service until you get a couple miles out. The chalet was a perfect size for our group of 9 and had plenty of things to keep us entertained. The property manager checked in often to ensure we had all our questions answered. The only thing that was somewhat unforeseen was the garbage disposal. The only community dumpster is located at the airport which has limited hours and cost $5.00 per bag which was not mentioned when booking the property or in the information sheets. Despite this, we had a wonderful and relaxing time and would highly recommend this spot.

The previous reviews were right on.

we stayed at the cottage on a snowmobiling trip with three couples, 2 small children and 1 teenager. Upon arrival we found a very small cottage made even smaller by the amount of "stuff" everywhere. We really struggled to find places to stow our gear. We were able to eventually make space and got settled in. The cottage is extremely cluttered but was clean and everything was serviceable. The owner, Judy was very responsive and helpful. We used the pool at the complex and the kids enjoyed themselves. The fireplace was wonderful and the beds were very comfortable. I left a 5 rating because we knew what to expect from the pics. The clutter was bothersome (there is an entire vintage entertainment center with the sole purpose of holding up an 8 track player) but did not affect the stay. Overall we had a nice time and enjoyed ourselves.

Nice property for family vacation

This property was nice for a quick family vacation. The owner was very cordial and informational. House overall had more than enough rooms for our family. Very close to Lakes of the North facilities, no more than a five-to-ten-minute drive. Located close to Gaylord, Alba and Mancelona. Hour drive to Traverse City. Property needs to be cleaned a little bit more as there was grease stains in kitchen and back of furniture was sticky to touch. Previous renters items left in night stand. An improvement could be to add WIFI and Cable or Satellite TV to property. Currently has digital TV with bad reception and few channels. Need to take towels and bedsheets provided off of listing as you need to rent them from the owner. Need to take of dryer and spa tub from listing also because house has neither. Note owner did mention renting towels and sheets and also the property does not have a washer or dryer prior to this prior to booking. Also, would recommend buying a new grill or cleaning the current one. Could not use due to being really dirty and innards looked broken. Overall, the positives of the community amenities (which is an extra cost), the excellent location, the multiple bedrooms and space in the rental, and, most of all, the hospitality and patience of the owner, I DEFINITELY WOULD RENT THIS PROPERTY AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

Would not recommend.

Overall this place was decent only if it was just going to be a couple of guys looking for a resting place in the woods for the weekend but this place was really dirty. We were there with two children under 2 years old and we had to lay a blanket on the floor for them because it was so disgusting. Turned your socks or bare feet black Has not been moped maybe ever. . There was so much clutter on every surface it was hard to bring in your own items. Let alone Keep track of them. It says it sleeps 12 but there is absolutely no way 12 adults could stay there together it’s quite small The clubhouse is a decent drive away for the pool but the pool itself was nice. To top it all off upon our arrival I received a message from the owner that claimed we “burned” one of the dressers which is completely false. I find it hard to believe considering there wasn’t even an inch on any surface to set anything down. I wouldn’t not recommend staying here there are tons of other places in northern Michigan to stay.

Nice unplugged getaway

This was the perfect place for an unplugged getaway. The house was nice, lots of kitchenware to use. Judy was kind and quickly responded when needed. Firepit was nice.

Dated and Dirty

We booked last minute and were able to secure this property about 25 minutes from Torch Lake for a family get together. We knew it was dated and cluttered from the pictures, but didn't realize it was also going to be dirty. We arrived and found dirty dishes in the sink, underwear in one bedroom and literally cobwebs everywhere. There are also crazy electrical extension cords and power plugs everywhere. I contacted the owner who basically offered a discount to stay there again which I declined. I just don't believe this is a safe place to stay. Total fire hazard and dirty. The owner lashed out at me in her text saying other people's dirty underwear was fine. She even admitted the housekeeper didn't finish cleaning the place but then said, oh well it's fine. I know it is in the woods, but my kids got literally 15+ spider bites each. Stay away. It should be a tear down.

Great cabin

My wife and her family stayed for the weekend. We had a great time. We truly enjoyed the cabin. Having a full kitchen was awesome. It was so peaceful tucked back in the woods.

Fantastic weekend

We had a wonderful all around experience! The house was exactly what we needed for our weekend of snowmobiling. Plenty of sleeping space for our crew and the house is super close to the trails! The owner was fantastic to deal with, very friendly and helpful! We will definitely be back!

Cozy home with resort amenities

Great communication with owner, she was very helpful. House was clean with recent updates. The mini water park was great for children and adults. Huge hot tub and coolers were allowed in clubhouse. Felt very secluded but only short drive to ski resorts and town. The only negative was no Wi-Fi/cable but great if you want to enjoy quality time with friends and family without distractions. Plenty of DVDs provided by owner which was greatly appreciated.

We had a wonderful stay at this tucked in chalet. Loved the remodel upstairs, loved the adjustable heat in each room, house came equipped with everything we needed. Great communication from owner also. We had a great experience here all around. Thank you again!

Miss leading

The cabin we stayed in was very cute but how they thought 12 people could find into it is beyond me. The rooms were clean looking, found several things left behind by previous renters. It shows the pool is an amenity to the property but didn't show that you had to pay to use it when listed. The small bedroom with a full bed smelled so bad of dog that it was unusable until it was cleaned by us and air fresheners were put in this was very disappointing. Over all it was a quite place to stay but would not recommend more than 9 people stay at a time.

Cute, woodsy château

As soon as we pulled up to the driveway there was a doe and fawn standing in the yard. The château was more beautiful in person. And the clubhouse was a nice place for the entire family to enjoy. Property manager was a delight and very accommodating, she even brought up pack and plays and a highchair for our little ones. 10/10 would recommend and stay again!
