Great space with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Will recommend to our friends with 2 or more kids as the perfect base camp for Mt. Rainier!Stayed 2 nights in mid June. Weather was terrible during our day in the park. Would def recommend 3 nights minimum and grocery shop before you get to town. Base Camp and Wildberry were great for dinners!
Our group of 4 was doing a course with RMI. This was the perfect spot: right next to the HQ and with all the amenities we could ask for. Great fit for our needs.
A nice place for my family to stay as we visited Mt. Rainier NP. We enjoyed the comforts of the cabin and that it was adjacent to a coffee bar (with good ice cream) and pizza place (also excellent.) being six miles from the parkâs entrance made our experience enjoyable.
Donât expect the Four Seasons, but in my view this is the Four Seasons of Ashford. Super-clean, very comfortable, well equipped and superb location for those planning on expeditions with RMI. Terrific host as well. Was a pleasure to stay here!
A great place to stay while visiting Mt. Rainier with family. 3 Bedrooms gave plenty of space for family, internet was fast and reliable. Kitchen was well stocked. Check in and out was efficient with key lock box. No cell service, but ATT wifi calling worked. Smart TV was good in evenings. Youtube streamed to tv through WiFi for grandson. Washer dryer kept us in clean fresh clothes. Deck was quiet for reading and bird and butterfly viewing. We would stay again. Communication with property manager was excellent
I've stayed here before (Aug 2018) with different friends and the place remains a very good place to stay. However, this second time there wasn't the same attention to details and things were missing. Most of the screens were gone from the windows as well as the the sliding door which leads to the deck. They do have a very efficient heating/cooling system, but, for some people, we prefer opening windows over air conditioning especially when sleeping, but because of insects, we needs screens. The kitchen only had one sharp knife, no cutting board, there were less dishes. No dish wash cloths and no drainer for the dish drain, and we had to go hunting for dish soap and paper towels. Yes, there is a dishwasher, but, it's so easy to wash by hand. No soap in one of the bathrooms, only one wash cloth. Only one extra blanket. We couldn't find checkout directions. Rather symbolically, a clock on the wall in the kitchen without a battery. Still the great beds with very soft sheets. Still a very convenient location. Still very clean and comfy with many nice amenities. So, it's not perfect but still a good deal. But, for whatever the reason, someone isn't attending to all those little details as well as when I was here last year. I was with two other friends this time, this was their first time, they won't return (and if they were writing this review, they would have rated more harshly). I would be happy to return again.
Had a great weekend with my father at Mt. Rainier. My dad can be pretty grumpy and picky, but he was extremely impressed with The Outlook, and it made the weekend trip far more comfortable than any of the nearby hotels would have been. It was comfortable, very clean, with great amenities and in a perfect location. Also really appreciated the clear communication from the owner. Thank you!
This is a house with three bedooms and 2 baths. It has a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. We enjoyed our stay here so much, exploring Mt. Ranier and we even rode the Sound Transit to Seattle but there was nothing quite like returning to The Overlook. It is simply amazing.
The property was very clean and location was great for short travels to Mt Rainier entrance and hiking. Very quiet area. Plenty of room for us four adults. The only small issue was the back bedroom had birds nesting in the roof area which disrupted sleep. However, please recognize you are in a national park and animals are going to do their thing. I recommend this clean location. We loved our stay.
Memorable trip and We enjoyed staying in this lovely 'Overlook' home in Ashford!
Very thankful that we got to find this lovely âOutlookâ home on Vrbo that is right by the Nisqually entrance to Mt. Rainier NP. Also very thankful to the house owner who wrote us several kind notes during booking and when we needed to change our schedule. We will definitely book this home again if we come visit this area next time!! Six of us spent two nights here, and we enjoyed every bit of our stay!! The property is obviously well maintained inside and out. Rooms are spacious and furniture are nicely laid out (that sofa sets are amazingly comfortable!). We didnât try lighting up the fire place, but the living room setting feels really relaxing and cozy. Everywhere in the house, especially beddings and bathroom (two of them) are pleasantly clean and comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities and cooking needs that we actually cooked our breakfast for both mornings. Then there is an ample supply of coffee, tea and condiments; we canât help trying some of them even though we brought our own instant coffee and tea bags for the trip. Location-wise, eating and shopping for supplies are relatively convenient (considering in this rural small town!). There is a convenient store within just one-minute drive where we bought drinks and snacks. Two nice restaurants are out there right next door where we literally walked to our dinner, and then we had some ice cream treats (yes, an ice cream shop, too!) for both nights. We missed a life concert on Friday afternoon at the Rainier Basecamp Bar & Grill, but their pizza was delicious! Overall, we had a memorable trip to the Mt. Rainier, but staying at this comfortable home âOverlookâ in Ashford was quite a highlight that we wonât forget!
We had a party of 6 with just ladies and felt completely safe at the property. The home was exactly as described it was clean and had everything we needed from spices to toilet paper and laundry detergent. We accidently locked the keys inside and the owner was responsive and provided us with another set of keys. The wifi worked great, the beds were comfy, and bedding was clean. It was just 8 minutes from the mt rainier entrance and it was the perfect home for our stay. We'd recommend this place to ur friends and family. Thanks for being great hosts.
We stayed here in 2019 and this year we decided to come back. The location is great with a lot of food choices. The house is clean and we can see a lot of upgrades in the house. Overall itâs a fantastic getaway for our family.
Great location and very clean. The owner was great to work with and provided clear instructions. The kitchen was minimally stocked for plates and silverware, and I would have liked an 8x8 pan for baking. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!
We had a great time on our vacation. We were renting for the weekend so that our family could have some time enjoying the snow. This location is near the chains rental facility and small local shops, so it was convenient to grab a bite and rent the chains needed to enter the national park. The house has three actual bedrooms, room enough for six people in beds, and unlike many other rental options that claim room for six, it has a table that can fit six people and living room sofa/comfy chair options that fit six people. One of the bedrooms has a bathroom on it, but otherwise the bedrooms are all about the same size. This location does not have a bathtub, but both bathrooms have a shower. Other than 5 steps up to a porch, the house is on one level, so it would be a good choice for people who don't prefer too many steps. Some of the other rental options were fancier, but we would have been uncomfortable there without room for everyone to eat or sit and relax! This place was immaculately clean, and the bed sheets were so soft. The beds and sofas etc seemed new. There were lots of pots and pans and spices. The heat from the wood burning stove was lovely after we got really cold in the snow, although the central heating works fine too to make the house cozy and warm, the fire dried our mittens and boots. Everything was very thoughtful. I asked for no scent laundry detergent because we have a sensitivity and they were very accommodating. Excellent communication with the manager when we had questions beforehand. We had a great stay and I think you would too.
The is a house that fit the needs of our family for the night. It was near Mt Rainier and exactly as described in the listing. It had both AC and heat which both worked well given the temperature extremes which can occur there even during the summer. The hot water worked well and the beds were comfortable. We would stay again if in the area.
My husband and I own and operate the businesses at Rainier BaseCamp.
