Cozy Cabin in Fawnskin

Our first VRBO experience at this location was great. Our family of four traveled to the mountain for a weekend away and this cabin was perfect for us. The house was clean and comfy, and in a nice quiet area of town. We wanted to stay somewhere a little less crowded than Big Bear - and this neighborhood/location is just a few minutes from the hustle and bustle. We ventured to the Village to explore and have lunch one day, made our way to the nearby Vons to fill the fridge and also made it to Snow Valley with ease. There’s also lots of nearby trails that we enjoyed exploring. The cabin had a well-appointed kitchen, cable/movies to choose from and plenty of games for the family. The snowball making tools/sleds provided were a big hit with our kids – and they both said their bunk beds were super comfortable. The owner was extremely responsive with the few inquiries I had, but honestly, not much was needed. The check-in/check-out instructions were easy to follow and there were no surprises. We hope to stay here again!

Perfect Getaway from the crouds

the only thing I did not love was that the trash needs to go away from the property - with that a side, it was a great retreat for my family. my grandkids are not at the age of going to the slopes so any small spot of snow is great, temperature was great, overalll a great place

Great Place

This was a great little cabin on the “quiet” side of the lake. Gorgeous surroundings. Quiet, relaxing, great deck and clean inside. The only pain point was the driveway. It is tight and a half circle so my full size 4 -door truck was tricky to get in and out. Driveway definitely more suitable for smaller vehicles. Other than that tiny nuance this is a terrific place.

Great location and place!

My husband and I came for the weekend to relax. The place is located a short distance from the village and from a great cafe three minutes away. The place was tidy and organized and the owner left explicit details about cabin rules and expectations. We definitely would book the place again with our two daughters. The bunk beds in the extra room would be a great room for them. This is a great place for a family of two or four!

Perfect little getaway

Amazing property, very well maintained

Beautiful property. Great for my family of 4. Everything inside is very clean and well maintained. Property surroundings are very beautiful and peaceful all day, literally you only hear the sound of the wind, great for an amazing outdoor experience. Property manager is very helpful and takes care of any question you have. Great patio outside to sit and take in all of nature. Most important of all, the kids loved it.

I went up to Fawnskin with a group of friends for my birthday and it was AMAZING!! Sheree answered all my questions and was very helpful. The Lake is walking distance from the cabin so it made a great morning walk. The area is also peaceful and quiet. Thank you Sheree!

Perfect Time in Fawnskin

Really enjoyed our time at this rental. There were 4 of us and it was just perfect. It was nice to be away from the hustle of tourists in Big Bear but close enough to zip over for lunch or skiing. The place itself was well stocked and comfortable. Cute sledding hill nearby and nice neighborhood. The owner was beyond helpful in every way. Thank you for a great stay.

Best cabin stay ever!

I took my 9 year old son up to Big Bear over 4th of July and stayed in this cute adorable cabin. From the moment I booked it, to the last day we were there, it was a fantastic experience! The owner was so sweet, and SO organized! She had everything written down as to how to open up the cabin and what we would need when we got inside. The cabin was so clean and we had everything we could possibly need. It was a perfect size for us and we could easily fit 4 more people. The queen bunk beds were very comfortable. There were so many games and movies, I didn't need to bring anything from home for my young son to play with. It's a short walk to the edge of the lake where we watched fireworks and did some fishing. The Fawnskin area is perfect, as it's not crowded, but yet has it's own little town with a convenient store and a bar, but is close enough to Big Bear Center. I would HIGHLY recommend this cabin to anyone who would like a relaxing weekend getaway, whether with family or just a couple of friends.

Clean, quiet among the trees

Very clean which was key to us. It is in the quiet section of Fawnskin, no road noise or partiers. Cabin was fully equipped and made for a easy enjoyable stay.

Great weekend getaway.

The owner is fabulous to work with, first of all. The house was well appointed with everything needed for a relaxing, enjoyable time. Interior was clean and whole property well maintained. The area has many enjoyable activities and is close enough to everything without losing the privacy we like on vacations too.

Our time in the forest.

If you want to get away from the rat race and enjoy a little old fashioned stay in the forest, this place is for you. We brought our three small children (5 years, 3 years and 10 mos) and a great time was had by all. The owner is awesome. The place is clean and rustic. We couldn't have asked for more.

Great get away!

We had a great weekend in this super cosy cabin it is the perfect mountain hideaway we were hoping for, very magical for children and adults. The owner was so friendly and great communicating everything we needed to know including good places to eat and fun things to do with our kids which made for a very stress free trip. We definitely hope to go back!

Beautiful Cabin in Fawnskin.

I stayed for two days In this beautiful cabin in Fawnskin. The cabin was very nice and the location being not far from the lake was a plus. The cabin was quite cozy and clean. The pictures and descriptions are very accurate. The owner was very nice and very imformative. It was a great get away.

I cannot recommend this rental highly enough! Just an all around wonderful place, very clean, exactly as described, actually more beautiful once you see it. My family spent a week there and didn't want to leave. The cabin is great - perfect for a small family with children. Extremely cozy inside and spacious outside. The inside is well kept, and has everything you need. We also really enjoyed the deck. Our children loved playing in the snow right in front of the house. This place is worth its money, and actually quite a steal for how much you get. We hope to be back soon! Highly recommended.

The cabin was very nice inside and out. A very nice area and not much noise from neighbors. Close to everything in Big Bear. We really liked the place and hope to stay on another trip.

Rest and Relax!

My wife and I needed a weekend away from our jobs and the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I found this cabin on VRBO and contacted the owner. She was extremely nice from the get go and made us feel welcome to use her cabin. The cabin has everything you would want for a stay in the mountains. The bed was very comfortable and nighttime was extremely quiet which made for a great nights sleep. The kitchen was clean as was the entire cabin. The deck out front has a great view of the trees in Fawnskin and the smell of vanilla from the Jefferson Pines was very nice each morning. There are plenty of books about the area to give you ideas of recreational opportunities including hiking, fishing, 4x4 tours, etc. We can't wait to come back to Sunset Heights Cabin for another stay!

Perfect getaway for this family of four!

This house was more than comfortable for my husband and I and our two small children. It was well appointed, including lots of towels, books, games, utensils, dishes, etc. It has a GREAT heater (we've rented houses that are icy cold no matter what!) and fireplace. There's even a washer/dryer (nice when you come home from a slushy day on the slopes). It's nicely located just a few short miles from Big Bear, but away from the traffic. Nice, friendly neighborhood. Best of all, it is CLEAN. And the owner is easy to work with, and provides very easy, clear instructions. We'll be staying here again.

Lovely Place to take your family to

We just got back from our 5 day winter vacation, the cabin is more than we had expected. First of all, it is on the north side of the lake in Fawnskin, away from the ski traffic, after getting stuck in traffic on Big Bear Blvd for over an hour at 5 pm one day, we felt really lucky that we picked this place on the OTHER side of the lake. A quiet place, where you got all the peace to yourself, yet it is only 10 min drive to Bear Mountain and Snow Summit ski places, as well as Von's, Stater Bros and all kinds of restaurants. The cabin is fully stocked with just about everything you would ever need, the owner cares a lot about the quality of your vacation time, the instruction is clear and easy to follow, you can feel the care right at the time you book the place.

Great for young families

Our stay at Sunset Heights Cabin was exactly what we were looking for - quiet, friendly neighborhood and a complete departure from the urban life. Great choice for a young family and anybody into mountain biking or trail running. Not too far from places to eat, as is anything at Big Bear. Will come back again!
