I stayed in Cabin 3 with my girlfriend and pup for two nights.
I didn't have the opportunity to meet Ron in person, but Bob, the property manager, is the quintessential host for anything you'd need. If you have any concerns, Bob will help and is always available and a genuine boon to the property.
The cabin looks directly over the lake, and the view is spectacular. Site 3 is as-advertised in the photos--albeit, a new fridge, same functional stove, and adorable sleeping space.
***PLEASE NOTE*** The only complaint we had was with the electrical wiring the first night. PLEASE check the cabin setup for your safety. I didn't notice anything untoward until I saw that the fridge was plugged in to a power strip. This was odd, certainly, and after tracing the power source all the way back, the power was from a 2>3 connector (ungrounded to "grounded") outlet. This connector had warnings to never use if ungrounded (it was, and the grounding tab wasn't connected to anything) and never to be used with an extension cord. This was the first step in 3 separate extension cords daisy-chained together ending with the fridge.
Needless to say, I was incredibly anxious and uneasy sleeping with that configuration. Thankfully, Bob was able to provide a dedicated, grounded power option for the fridge the next morning.
In short, this is an absolutely beautiful property with a great host, and the best spot you can book on Clear Lake. Mind the electrical setup, and have a wonderful time. I'd highly recommend Cabin 3 for the rustic aesthetic in a gorgeous location.
I loved doing 1930s cabin camping at this rental. The lake is right there so I spent a lot of time contemplating the water. It was so peaceful. And, this is a family-run business where everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely return to Honeymoon Cove.
The cabin is simple, the grounds are nice and the lake is just steps away. Though it was only mid May, I had a lovely swim. The unit has no AC, but the most refreshing lake breeze wafted right through the room and was perfect during my stay.
I stayed at the rustic cabin #3 for one week on a private meditation retreat. It was just what I needed. I relaxed and processed this crazy year (2020). The property managers, Susan and Ray, are so kind. I woke up to the sounds of nature everyday. The cabin is hot (no ac) but there are fans. Also, the skinks provide unfiltered lake water, so be sure to bring your own filtered water for everything (including teeth brushing).
Great spot to relax in a private gated setting. Beautiful view of the lake and access to a semi private beach.
Super responsive hosts.
The small cabin as advertised lacks some amenities but they are included in the 2 larger cabins.
Beautiful property. Property sits lakefront with 500ft of private lake access with boat dock. There are 3 "rustic" cabins (various sizes) and a beautiful large contemporary home on the lot. Our cabin was the smallest of the 3 which was a studio. Cabin is ideally located with trees providing shade and privacy and approx 100ft walk to lake. The cabin is old and it shows some age but it was comfortable for us and had all we need. Outdoor shower was pretty cool and private too. Managers & owner were great as they checked in every so often to make sure our stay was pleasant. Well def go back in the future.
