My family stayed a week in this home and had a great time! It is an easy walk to the beautiful beach, everything we needed was there for us to use, there is a great restaurant walking distance from the home, and the view was fantastic!
We enjoyed our beach cottage stay! The best part was the private beach and being able to hear the waves in the cottageâŠThe cottage was supplied with everything needed⊠in the kitchen, towels, beach supplies⊠So we could jump right into our vacation!! Grateful we could bring our dogs with us. Loved the bonfire pit, and the sâmores sticks ready. There were lots of games for our family to play.We enjoyed watching boats and freighters go by, and watching the sunset at the bonfire. There was room for everyone. This was a gem of a find. Liked that the cottages at the end of the street⊠Very private!!Hoping to go back again next summer!
The view from the property is extraordinary. My wife and I have stayed many places on the water, Cornwall, Scotland, Panama, Michigan, and we agree that this may the best we have ever seen, very hypnotic. And the night sky is unbelievable, no light pollution. It is rare in Michigan to find a place on the water that feels secluded. The beach is a short walk away. The kids and the dog enjoyed the water. The comfortable cottage is set up well with lots to do and attractions nearby. The kids went to Michigan Adventure for a day. We spent a day in Montague and White Hall for a craft fair, very nice. There is also a golf course a few minutes down the road. Thanks for a great stay!
I have never experienced a "private" beach. The water was cool and refreshing, the beach was perfect, and the view was unreal. Imagine going to sleep with a real life sound machine of Lake Michigan's waves. That is what you'll get here. I did have to remind myself, well my husband had to remind me, that with all the outdoor beauty comes outdoor nuisances as well. David, Amy, and their team of friendly people were amazing with communication and acted impresssivley quick to an issue that arose during our stay. The beds are comfortable! There is a king bed in the master, which was amazing for us because our two kiddos like to steal our extra space in the middle of the night. I would, actually, we will stay here again. My husband said it was the best vacation he's ever been on (and I brought him to an island for one of his birthdays!! So this is impressive). Keep in mind this cottage is what i would call; "the boonies" coming from Chicagoland. The cottage is simple but covers the amenities needed. There is no need to bring all of your beach stuff, because David and his team have it all there for you! We spent most days at the beach and only left for grocery shopping and to check out the small town. Keep in mind that you will probably lose cell service as you get close to the cottage, make sure you screen shot David's directions before you get close!
The cottage was clean and comfortable with terrific views of Lake Michigan and the sunsets, both inside and on the balcony. The beach was a lot of fun. The cottage had all of the items we needed and we were able to relax pleasantly. We went to the Michigan Adventure park, less than 1/2 hour away, and had loads of fun. Owner is very courteous.
If you think the property is beautiful now, you should have seen it before the erosion took half of it away (Check out "Lake Michigan Escape," on youtube).
Have owned and loved the; "Garvelink Cottage," (my 2nd home) for over 25 years now and have made very many memories there. I hope the same for my cottage guests as well.
