RURAL juste mis à jour 2015 !!! ** Nous avons récemment élargi les Chambres Maître qui comprend maintenant sa propre salle de bains neuve avec baignoire et douche complète. Nous avons également installé un nouveau pont extérieur du Maître avec un curseur .... de superbes vues sur le lac!***

Ce charmant chalet se trouve près de la rive du lac Michigan, au milieu des dunes basses. Il est ombragée par de grands conifères et de feuillus. Il dispose d'une véranda et une terrasse, idéal pour la détente de vacances. En cinq minutes, vous pouvez marcher à un magnifique, large plage propre, de sable, idéale pour prendre le soleil et la natation. Vous pouvez marcher vers le nord pour miles le long de la plage. Si vous êtes prêt pour l'exercice plus grave, vous pouvez définir à courir ou faire du vélo à proximité des routes ombragées ou ramasser pistes cyclables désignées. Il est vraiment un endroit magnifique. La maison adjacente du propriétaire est bien entretenu avec des jardins de fleurs et de légumes. La promenade de la plage prend environ 10 minutes.

Amazing location with breathtaking views

Everything about the cottage was exactly what we needed, and the proximity to the private beach was perfect. A short but adventurous hike to the lake and a perfect vacation spot. I only wish we could've stayed longer.

Wonderful stay

The cottage was clean and stocked with supplies we needed. The owners are very friendly. We enjoyed the sandy beach and all the things to do in the area.

Lake Michigan retreat at its best

The cabin was small but with everything we needed for a weekend family getaway. The beach is so convenient and was not crazy busy, even on a beautiful summer Saturday. We were able to bike into town along the roads without any problems and once there the paved bike path was fantastic! Hope to return.

Beautiful cottage and beach setting!

Great place to stay in Montague/Whitehall area. Access to private beach, it’s just a short walk and you’re there! We visited the beach on a Wednesday and had basically the whole beach to ourselves. Would highly recommend!

A wonderful cottage located just a short walk from the beach

This is an adorable cottage just a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed reading the classic books in the cottage, like The Mouse and the Motorcyle and watching VHS tapes! Also, we biked down to the pier almost every day. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful.

Quiet, clean and relaxing stay

We stayed for 3 nights and the house was exactly as described - clean, with all the necessary amenities. The owners home is closer to the lake, so there is limited view from the rental, but the space is very quiet and serene. I would caution anyone coming about the walk down to the beach - there is a fairly steep decline down to a bridge before going over a small river and over the sand dune to the beach. We managed fine, but small children or those less mobile may find it difficult. Overall a great stay and close to Michigan adventure.

Adorable Michigan Cottage!

We had a wonderful time at the Lakehouse! What a lovely welcome with the jazz music playing and the goodies on the kitchen counter! The house was adorably decorated and incredibly clean upon arrival. The owners were very nice and so accommodating. The location of the cottage is perfect! Easy access to the beach either from the back across the dunes or just down the road to the public access to the beach. And the rental company has excellent customer service! Can't say enough great things about our stay! Hope to come again someday! :)

This cottage was exactly as described. Great location! Beautiful walk down to beach and out to pier. Good communication! It provides everything you need for a fun stay, including a gift basket with wine and 2 glasses!

Family reunion

This quaint little cottage was just just getting ticket for our short stay on the Lake Michigan coast. The cottage sits on the same property of the main house of the owner, but it didn’t feel like we were lacking any privacy. The walk down to the lake is pretty magical. There is private access to the beach that goes past the owner’s tiered gardens, along a bridge that crosses a sound, and through some sand dunes before you get to the water. It’s a bit of a hike, but it’s so worth it!

We had a terrific time near the Lake and in Montague

Clean, cosy and I liked the lighting throughout. The refrigerator broke early on, but the property owner Oscar replaced it soon after.

Girl's getaway weekend

Beautiful location. The cottage was well equipped and comfortable with plenty of space. The walk to the beach is beautiful but includes a lot of steps and soft sand dunes. There is access at the end of the road that may be a little easier for some.

Cute lake cabin

This property was a nice little property in a quiet area. It is about 1/4 mile hike to the beach, and there were often beach advisories during our stay, so we didn't swim during our trip. The furniture is on the older side, so the couches were not the most comfortable, unfortunately. However, we didn't spend too much time at the cabin, so it didn't affect us much. The TV service is Roku and streaming services, so we were able to find a variety of programming to suit our needs. Overall, nice, clean cabin.

Homey and Relaxing

Everything we wanted for a perfectly relaxing week away. Easy access to the private beach for great morning and evening walks and a secluded and quiet area for the downtime we were craving. If you want a quiet and less touristy area with easy drives to places with lots of activity, you can’t go wrong here!

Perfect stay for a family

We just returned from a four day stay at the lake house. It was the perfect size for our family, but is on the smaller size so if you have kids or teens that want a lot of personal space you may want to take that into consideration. The house is set back a good distance from the road, so we felt safe having our kids run in the yard. The trek to the beach is down a lot of stairs that is to the right of the owners house and across a dune, but we were able to do it with our three kids under 8. The hardest part was getting a cooler down there because you couldn’t drag it most way. But once you are down there it is worth it. The beach is amazing and the water is shallow for a very good amount out. Perfect for our family. We spent an entire day there with very tired kiddos afterward. In town montague foods had everything you need. And you must try pekadill for sandwiches and ice cream one day!! One small thing that was never mentioned is the washing machine is in the cellar with the entrance outside of the house. Took us a minute to find it! Overall a wonderful stay and one of our favorite locations.

Lake House

We stayed at the Lake House for the first time this year. We loved how close it is to Medbery Park as that is where we always have gone for sunsets. All the information that we needed was sent to us before we left. The check in process was very easy. We were told what time to check in and everything was ready when we arrived. My wife spent several days at the beach collecting rocks and even found a few Petoskey Stones. It was a great vacation and we are already planning on returning next year. Thanks again for everything.

Perfect Location!

What a beautiful location nestled within walking distance to Lake Michigan. Oscar and his wife (the actual owners) live adjacent to the property and were very friendly and helpful in sharing knowledge and the history of the surrounding area. Everything you need is in the cabin. We were able to take beautiful walks and view the beautiful sunset every night! So much to see and do in the surrounding areas as well. Montague has so much to offer, quaint town and friendly people. Would definitely consider coming back to stay.

Cute Quirky Beach Place

The Lake House offered a unique, cute space for our first ever family trip. Our daughter (1.5) and son (5.5) were able to experience Lake Michigan for the first time from the cutest Medbery Park Beach that is literally 45 seconds down the road. The close approximately to the pier for fishing and picture perfect beach for our children to explore is what made this property so appealing. We did have my parents along and young children, so taking the path that the house has to the private beach was way too cumbersome and dangerous. This private beach access would be only for people that do not have little children or older adults. You have to go through steep stairs, narrow paths and climb a sand dune and go down one. We went to the park and walked the beach to that area to be able to use the picnic table and chairs. The property is cute and quint. For someone with children it does have sloped floors and glass table top items, along with no large dining table, so I would suggest planning ahead. We are thankful for the memories that we made on our first ever family trip at the cutest little beach place. We love Montague, MI and will be back to that park for day trips!

Clean, nice beach. A short hike to the beach. The weather didn't cooperate though so not much beach time. Can't control the weather. Would've been awesome if a bit warmer and less rain

Nice cottage near Lake Michigan

My husband and I took our 10yr old grandson there for a week. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen to cook 3 meals/day, comfortable beds, and the master bath has an adjustable shower head that's great for kids. The a/c is wonderful! The walk to the beach is more strenuous than I expected especially to carry food & bevs and toys. Its a charming path but may not be suitable for sedentary folk or those with musculo-skeletal problems. Theres a nice variety of beach chairs and a picnic table & fire ring on the bluff above the beach. There is no water view or sound of waves from the cabin. The public boat launch is several miles away in the town of Montague and very easy to maneuver even with the high water levels this year. We had difficulty communicating with the property manager, but the circumstance were highly unusual and unlikely to be a problem for others.
