This was an unfortunate situation. The guest reported that his son's electric toothbrush and retainer had been left in the apartment. Our housekeeping staff checked the unit twice and did not locate either item. We communicated these efforts to the guest. We respectfully disagree with the characterization that our response was dismissive, as we made every reasonable effort to locate the missing belongings and kept the guest informed throughout the process. Additionally, the guest stated that he was not adequately informed about the building's exterior construction. This is not accurate. The construction was disclosed on our VRBO listing prior to booking and again in a pre-arrival email sent on May 12, 2026, more than a month before the guest's arrival. The email clearly explained that the building would be undergoing an exterior concrete restoration project, that there could be intermittent weekday construction noise, and that balconies might be temporarily closed when necessary for guest safety. A copy of that notification is included below. We strive to be transparent with our guests and provide accurate information before arrival so they can make informed booking decisions. In this case, we believe we fulfilled that responsibility by providing advance notice through multiple channels and by making every reasonable effort to assist the guest with his concerns.
