We’re sorry to hear that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations, as providing a comfortable and welcoming experience is always our goal. Regarding communication, we sincerely apologize for the frustration caused by the VRBO messaging issue. We experienced a technical disruption that prevented guest messages from reaching us as expected, which VRBO acknowledged and apologized for. Unfortunately, we did not receive your messages regarding these concerns during your stay. Had we been made aware of them, we would have welcomed the opportunity to address them promptly and do everything we reasonably could to improve your experience. We would never intentionally leave a guest’s concerns unanswered. To help prevent similar situations in the future, we now encourage guests to contact us directly by text if they do not receive a response through the platform. Regarding insects, our home is located in a naturally wooded coastal area near the Cape Fear River, where the warm, humid climate and surrounding environment naturally attract insects. We make ongoing efforts to manage them through regular pest-control treatments and provide guests with information about the environment before and during their stay, including the importance of keeping exterior doors closed to help prevent insects from entering. While we understand that encountering insects indoors is not ideal, this is a consideration of the natural setting rather than something unique to our property. We will also review the concerns raised about the bedroom AC seals to determine whether additional improvements are needed. We take feedback about cleanliness seriously and will review the concerns mentioned regarding the Keurig, kitchen items, and upstairs shower drain with our cleaning and maintenance team. We wish these concerns had reached us during the stay so we could have had the opportunity to investigate and address them in real time. As a small, family-run hosting operation, we put considerable care into preparing our home and welcoming our guests. We appreciate both positive feedback and constructive criticism, and we take our responsibility to our guests seriously.
