Welcome to The Sweet Escape~
Upon arrival to The Sweet Escape you will find a fun snack basket in the kitchen & bottled water in the fridge. You can also brew a cup of coffee with all the extras in case you need a pick me up!
If you need a quick nap, there are three comfortable beds (already made) with 100% high thread count, cotton sheets. You will find this on a very safe cul de sac in a quiet, wide street, low traffic neighborhood perfect for your morning walks~
The Sweet Escape is less than ten minutes from UNCW & fifteen minutes from Wilmington's Historic Downtown Riverfront. You can also walk just five minutes away to a coffee shop / restaurant & only a ten minute walk to Mayfair. Mayfair is Wilmington’s Premier Lifestyle Shopping Center that offers over 80 stores and 20 restaurants.
We have three bedrooms, featuring three very comfortable beds ~ One king & 2 queen beds. We have one full bathroom & a half bathroom. Our living room features a 65 inch smart TV along with a new leather sofa and swivel chair. We also have a step down den set up with new sofa, two chairs and a desk / chair duo. We also have a 43 inch smart TV in the den. There’s a pocket door that can keep the kids video sound out from the other room!
We offer a fully equipped kitchen with all large and small appliances. If you have any particular specialty item for the kitchen that you may need, please inquire and I'll make sure to have it for you. Kitchen leads out to our patio that is set up for relaxing by our beautiful garden / grill area and the fire pit (we provide firewood & kindling) The back yard is fenced in for your small children & pups safety and we have recently added overhead lighting features to enhance the outdoor ambiance, highlight the charm of the garden area and offer the perfect setting for evening conversations and photo ops! There is plentiful parking with room for an RV, boat & trailer (Municipal boat ramp is just under 3 miles away).
We take pride in our home and ensure that it's cleaned & sanitized properly for your stay.

Spring break 2025

We had a lovely and relaxing stay at this property. The photos did not truly show the beauty of the property. The patio and rose bushes are stunning. I enjoyed coffee on the patio every morning and we ate dinnner on the patio most evenings. Little things made this stay special. There were plenty of towels and wash clothes as well as blankets and pillows. The neighborhood was quiet yet close to places to eat or even have food delivered. Heather was an attentive host. Many thanks Heather.

Nice stay

This home met all of our needs. It was well stocked. We really enjoyed the backyard. When we accidentally locked ourselves out of the house, help was there in minutes to get us in. The home is centrally located and just a quick drive to Wilmington and Wrightsville Beach.

Clean a well equipped. Fenced back yard perfect for our dog. 15 min drive to Wrightsville Beach. Nice quiet neighborhood for families. Close to groceries, drug stores etc.

Short beach trip

The house was just what we needed for a short beach vacation, short drive to beach, medium drive to downtown but having the fenced back yard is a life saver when you have 3 dogs, it’s also nice that there wasn’t a 2 dog limit that so many other places have…we will for sure rent here again next time we are in Wilmington!!

Great host & great place for dogs

This house is exactly as advertised and then some. It is in a great location and I cannot say enough about how much my two dogs (pug and lab mix) loved the backyard. I was also there during the "epic snow storm" that hit Wilmington and the host and owners were on top of it and went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed despite the unexpected winter weather and being snowed in! Will definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone!

We loved this place. It was very cozy and the Christmas tree and decor made it extra special for us. We had everything we needed and would definitely love to stay in this home again! I didn’t want to leave.

Perfect for a family stay that includes the dog

The property is in a good location with easy access to Mayfaire shopping and Wrightsville Beach. The neighborhood was quiet. It’s an older home but very clean and has everything you need. The fenced in yard is a very nice feature if you have a dog. The fence is about waist high so you will likely need to supervise your pet while they are outside.

Adorable House in a Great Location!

Oh my goodness, this was the perfect house for our visit to Wilmington! It was just as described, though the pictures don't do it justice. It had a quaint beach cottage feel, and we enjoyed sitting in the back courtyard in the evenings. This home is nestled in a quiet neighborhood, close to the beach, shopping, restaurants, and downtown! Heather was the perfect host! She quickly responded to our inquiries, and was always very pleasant. We will definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful time in this home away from home. They thought of everything to keep everyone comfortable (extra blankets, lots of towels, kids dishes, even great quality paper towels/toilet paper!). It’s the perfect location, close to everything, quiet area annd comfortable beds! owners are very responsive and helpful. We are already looking forward to a stay in 2025! Great Place!

Our family stayed at this place for 3 nights during September. It was very clean, beds were comfortable and the neighborhood was very safe and nice. There was a nice trail to walk our dog and the location was close to a beautiful shopping center and the beach. Our family stated that they would definitely stay there again.

Great cozy home!

We needed a pet friendly house close to our son’s apartment. This house was perfect! Back yard was fenced in and pretty decor throughout. Pillows were really comfy! Host was very prompt to answering questions. Only minor issue was large dogs next door barked every time we were outside. Thank you for a great stay we will be back!

This is our 2nd year staying here. We love the properties’ amenities, cleanliness, and location. The host is very responsive. I locked us out of the house on a hot summer day with groceries in the car. The owner, who lives close by, was there in minutes to unlock the door.

Perfect in every way!

Third stay in this wonderful home with my two small pups. Will definitely return. Kitchen well equipped and pristine. Living areas and bedrooms nicely appointed and very very clean (same for bathroom) Located in quiet residential neighborhood. Beautiful patio and lights exactly as pictured.

Always love stay here!

Not only is this house clean and comfortable it so convenient to the beach, shops,restaurants as well as downtown Wilmington. Have stayed multiple times and will be back soon!

Clean, comfortable - Great Break

This was our first time in the area and we loved the location of this house. Close to beaches and everything else we needed (walking distance to Mayfaire Mall and just a few minutes drive to local beaches). The house was very clean and comfortable- everything we needed. The house and garden are very private. Really enjoyed our time in Wilmington and would definitely stay here again.

Always love staying here!

We’ve been multiple times. Always super clean, love the little extras ( snacks, water, dish soap, laundry detergent) and nice towels! We’re back in July!

Another Amazing Stay!

This is the second time I have stayed at this wonderful property. Stayed with my two miniature Dachshunds for a couple weeks. The entire house was again pristine. The backyard is fenced, spacious, and beautifully appointed. The patio is great for breakfast outside and enjoying quiet time for reading and soaking up sunshine. The light string arrangement is awesome at night. The neighborhood is very low key and safe - all families and very quiet with some nice walking routes available. Kitchen has all the necessities, all quite new as well as the new washer and dryer. The host was extremely helpful from booking through departure- always had a very prompt and helpful response for my questions. Cannot recommend this property highly enough!

Home away from home!

This home was in a super good location of Wilmington. It had everything you could need and felt like you were staying at a family member’s home. We will definitely be using this home again when we return to Wilmington.
