Amazing property. I can’t wait to go back. The personal touches went above and beyond. The communication with the hosts was outstanding. I don’t have enough good words to say about this jewel of a home.

Super clean place and host was very responsive. Best part was it was pet friendly! Spiral staircase was tricky for the dog, but we made it work.

Thank you for the review! We’re so glad you enjoyed the cabin, found everything super clean, and appreciated our responsiveness. We also love offering a pet-friendly getaway so the whole family can come along! The Lake Zoar setting is beautiful, but it does come with some stairs! We try to be very upfront in our listing about both the narrow spiral staircase inside and the stairs getting to the property so guests know exactly what to expect before they arrive. Especially when traveling with a four-legged family member. We’re glad you were able to make it work and hope you enjoyed plenty of time relaxing and taking in those beautiful lake views. We’d love to welcome you back!

There’s something special about settling into a comfortable cabin tucked into the woods with the lake right there to enjoy. Add in the beautiful views and great location, and it really is a wonderful place to escape, slow down and enjoy some time by the water. The property is better than the photos gives. It was very nice to have different views. There are different level you can view the lake from. The hottub was easy to use and easy to understand, very nice. TV's are smart TV so you can log in into your network accounts and watch movies or TV (remember to sign out.) Bath had customizable lights and Bluetooth to play music overhead. The stair were a lot but very manageable, as long as your in decent shape you'll be perfectly fine! Seen some very nice bugs very cool! (It's in the forest after all) Highly recommend it if you are thinking about staying here!! The local Pizza was really good especially the Garlic Knocts.

The multiple levels and outdoor spaces offer so many different ways to take in those beautiful Lake Zoar views, and the hot tub is definitely a favorite spot to relax and enjoy the setting. We’re glad you enjoyed all the little extras throughout the home, too, from the Smart TVs and Bluetooth bathroom speaker to the customizable lighting. And yes, being tucked into the woods along the lake means you get the full nature experience! Thank you for mentioning the stairs as well. There are quite a few, but as you found, they are very manageable and part of what allows the home to offer those incredible views from so many different levels. We’re thrilled you enjoyed your stay, the lake, and even some great local pizza. Thank you for the recommendation, and we would love to welcome you back!

We had no idea that the house was only accessible by a very long stair case and there was no access for our car, I have a back issue and I had to carry our stuff down over 60 stairs and had to make at least 4 trips up and down, The bar b que grill was filthy and there was left over bread and expired milk in the refrigerator,it’ has beautiful view and we had peaceful and lovely weekend regardless, thank you.

That is not the standard we strive for, and we’ve addressed this with our team to ensure it does not happen again. We’re glad you were still able to enjoy the beautiful views and peaceful lakeside setting during your stay. For future guests, we do want to emphasize that this property is a true hillside lake retreat and does require navigating stairs throughout the property. As outlined in our listing prior to booking, there is a 66-step descent from the parking area to the house, with additional stairs to the yard and dock. Because of this, the home is best suited for guests who are comfortable with stairs and do not have mobility limitations. We appreciate you staying with us and are happy you were able to have a lovely weekend overall.

Beautiful Cabin in CT

We had a great stay. The lake view, hot tub & 2 porches were perfect The only downside was the amount of steps to & from the cabin. The owner was helpful with initial questions.

We also love that private lakeside seating area at the water's edge. It's one of our favorite spots to unwind with a morning coffee or watch the sunset. As you mentioned, this cabin does have a number of steps to access it, which is noted throughout the listing so guests can decide if it's the right fit for them.
