We spent the weekend for a family wedding and would stay at this property 1000% again. Everything was clean, organized and exactly described. Lots of rain, so wi-fi was a little spotty and that would be my only complaint. Owner was super accessible and that was a great part of our trip!
I absolutely loved our stay at this home in Bass Lake. The host was wonderful and responsive to our inquiries. Lots of room, great AC, fully stocked kitchen.
We had a great time staying here. Just a minor thing as posted by others. The parking in front is small (one car) but you can park in the back of house but it is up this muddy hill and you have to park at a slant. The main door had a problem but we quickly called the host and she was great at responding. The. Cabin is very cute and met our needs. Iâm sure we will come back! Thank you!
The property was very idyllic being very close to the lake and felt immediately we were on vacation. The home was great for our large group of people (6 of us) and our dog was comfortable there as well. Would book again! The place was 1-2 hours from the Yosemite Valley factoring traffic at the entry gate on the weekend. The host was also very helpful, communicative and clear. The parking at the property was suitable for 3-4 cars.
Very cozy cottage as described and with everything you need. Close to Bass Lake, 2 parking spots. Road to property is very narrow so if you have a big truck best to access house from the back (just an an fyi). Great communication with owner.
This was a really fun lake getaway for me, my son and his friend. It was a great location, just a short walk down the hill to the water where we watched the sunset over the lake. The place is stocked with pretty much anything you need, but there's also a local grocery store and coffee shop just a few minutes drive away. Shawnda and Marc were very responsive when we had a wifi issue. You can tell they really care about their guests experience. In fact, a lot of people we met at the lake were very friendly. I would definitely come back.
The pictures definitely do not do this place justice. So wonderfully decorated for the holidays with tons of lights and bears and cute decorations and details everywhere. The home had all the necessities and was very clean and spacious. From the deck we had a nice view of the lake (though it is very low at the moment) and the neighborhood around the home was adorable and super walk-able. We loved the fireplace and cozy living room. The host was so responsive when we had questions about the cable or checkout requirements. We spent a day in Yosemite which is only 35 minutes away and a day at a snow park near Shaver Lake which was a twisty 1.5 hour drive away. The weather was so unexpectedly warm that we had to drive pretty far to find snow this year but all totally worth it. We will definitely be back to visit this cabin again.
Very cute house near Bass Lake. The lake and town were within walking distance. The host was absolutely amazing. This property was very comfortable and cozy. It is near Yosemite and a larger town if you need more than Bass Lake has to offer. We highly recommend a stay here.
What a fantastic place to spend your getaway. Truly was a great stay, beautiful deck, cozy, all the amenities needed, easy communication with host and the list goes on! Definitely one of our new favorites to revisit! Thank you to the Lopez Family for hosting my family and I!
Cabin EXCEEDED our expectations on ALL levels:
Proximity to restaurants/shops/water venues; quiet residential area above the lake; smart arrangements of space for living room open to modern fully stocked kitchen, three comfortable bedrooms; wraparound outdoor deck with lake view thru the trees, ample parking; close to Yosemite South Gate, beautiful furnishings and a highly attentive hostess.
We had a wonderful time at the Lopez cabin. If I had my own cabin I would want people to feel at home and that is exactly how we felt, like we were home away from home. We have been in many VRBO properties and this property was homey, not like a rental property with limited supplies. Shawnda thought of everything to meet every need we had, this place was stocked!!
The bear cabin theme throughout the home was cute. Evenings on the deck with a glass of wine watching the sun set was pretty nice as well!
Bass lake is close to the cabin, you can see the lake from the deck, but not right on the lake. Which was fine with us. It was close to The Pines recreation area, restaurants and shops. Millerâs Landing is just a short 15 minute drive, where we like to rent our boats. The people at Milllerâs are all so friendly and accommodating. Oakhurst is about 20 minutes from the cabin where you can get groceries at Vons and Big Five for any sporting equipment you might have forgotten.
We canât wait to go back next year!!
The Taylorâs
It was very cutely decorated, very small place but it worked for our family. Really the only issue was there was very large dog pee stains on the carpet, both in the master bedroom and in the kids room. The smell was terrible!
I had an overall neutral rating on the stay. Cabin decorations are nice but size is very small and air conditioners are very noisy plus WiFi is slow. In the end, feel I paid 5 star price for 2 star hotel. Donât think I will book again.
I had hoped that this rental would have a closer view of the lake but it more than made up for it by being clean, well furnished, and comfortable. The owner was easy to get a hold of and was very responsive. The kitchen is well stocked but you may need to bring plastic wrap, foil, and other food storage in case you have leftovers. Also, be careful to not leave food out â during hot weather, ants can be bothersome. The deck is lovely and wraps around the property but for us, it was too hot to enjoy it. We wished there was more shade. The grill is really clean for barbecuing. In the larger bedroom, the AC unit doesnât seem to work as well as the others so I supplemented with a fan from another room and that was perfect. Also, be sure to leave on the porch light just outside the door to deter wildlife rummaging in garbage containers outside.
Itâs about 4-5 minutes to rent water sports gear and boats, the Pines Market is also a half mile away and offers more a durable selection of both groceries, ready to eat meals, household items, and touristy gifts. Oakhurst is the nearest town and has larger box stores and dining options just 14 minutes away.
Unfortunately, during our stay, there was a huge fire in Fresno causing the AQI to be in the unhealthy levels so we only managed to be outdoors one day out of the three but we highly recommend the Cloud 9 Massage which is seriously relaxing and healing if you canât be out in nature. We also had a great experience at the Bass Lake Boating and Rentals which is just next to Duceyâs. Do plan ahead and reserve boats etc in advance of your visit.
Youâll have a great experience at Shawnda and Marcâs Lake House at Bass Lake!
The weather was hot when we arrived to the cabin, but when we arrived to the cabin it was nice and cool. Easy to locate and clean. The lake is low, so we didnât hang out by the lake, but there is lake access. The owner is great and stays in touch with updates and to check in. Cabin is in a great location and we hope to rent next year.
Family and friends are my passion. I grew up in the Central Valley and moved to the Bay Area in the 90s. I am an active realtor out of the Bay Area working for REMAX. I absolutely love spending time with my family and going to sporting events. My favorite time of year is Christmas. One of my hobbies is decorating for the holidays.
This is a family cabin that has lots of love. It has a very comfortable, cozy feel for family or just the two of you. It's in an ideal neighborhood in the heart of Bass Lake, where all the action and restaurants are for your pleasure. The back deck has a slight view of the lake and the neighborhood is very well kept.
