John, thanks for taking the time to leave us this review! We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall, but we apologize for the issues you encountered! We have passed your feedback along to the homeowner and the caretaker so that the satellite issue can be rectified, and are addressing the communication concerns as well to ensure future guests do not have the same problem. They have let us know that WiFi coverage can be a little spotty due to the location of the property, but they have purchased the best package available in an attempt to mitigate issues for guests. Thanks so much for letting us know! Best, The Evolve Team

From the owner: "Thank you for the awesome review. The hot tub nestled amid towering redwoods makes the experience truly magical. We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay."

From the owner: "We always want our guests to have the best experience possible, and we’re sorry to hear you encountered some issues during your trip. We wish we’d had the chance to address these items during your stay, as our on-site manager lives a short distance away and can handle same-day concerns. We’re also making that contact information even more prominent in the arrival materials.- The hot tub is cleaned after each stay, and we’ve instructed our maintenance person to drain, sanitize, and replace the filters. The hot tub is nestled in an old-growth redwood grove, so wildlife like blue jays and hummingbirds is abundant; we’re sorry we didn’t find the fallen bird before your arrival. This is a dark-sky community, so lighting is intentionally limited to enhance stargazing.- Cleanliness is a top priority for us. We’ve asked our cleaning service to disassemble and sanitize the refrigerator’s ice bin and replace the filter. The dishwasher is relatively new, but we’ll have it checked to ensure it's cleaning thoroughly. We’ve reminded the team to check for smudges on mirrors and to give extra attention to baseboards, walls, and high windows for cobwebs during scheduled deep cleans. We take pride in the positive feedback we receive about cleanliness, and are sorry we fell short of your expectations. We’ve addressed your concerns with the relevant teams so future guests receive the exceptional service we strive to provide."

Hi Lori, the homeowner has asked us to share this response: - We are so sorry that the Chalet was not up to your expectations. We try very hard to ensure the best possible experience for our guests and are concerned that you were disappointed. - The couches are not broken, but they are built low to the ground, so they are not as easy to stand from as higher seats. - Our cleaning service usually does a thorough job, but we have ordered a rigorous deep clean in addition to the regular cleaning. - We wish you had alerted the on-site manager that the fireplace was not working and that you did not have an adequate supply of TP and towel paper, as she could have responded quickly to remedy these issues. Again, we apologize that you were disappointed with your stay and are working hard to address every issue. It is our goal that Creekside Chalet is indeed a “real jewel” for all our guests.

Hi Deborah, we're glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall! We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they would like to share the following: "We are very sorry this matter has taken so long to resolve. The item is large and bulky and the property manager let you know that it is taking a bit longer to find an appropriately-sized box and get to the small village post office during its short opening hours. We sincerely appreciate your patience, the item will be mailed as soon as possible. We are glad you enjoyed your visit to the Chalet as our goal is to provide guests with the best stays possible!"

Hi Todd, The homeowner was sorry to hear that your experience fell short, and they wanted to let you know what they've done to address your feedback: - The owner spoke with their on-site manager, who let them know that they had a different cleaner prepare the property for your reservation since they were away - They apologize that she did not meet their high standards for cleaning and hope that the measures they took to compensate you for the issues made things right - Maintenance cleans the hot tub for each new guest and has not reported any issues, but the owner has asked them to look into any problems with the headrest The owner apologizes again that their local team missed the mark on their usual hospitality, and they'd love the chance to provide you with a truly 5-star stay the next time you're in Manchester!
