Stayed at the Red Oâhana for 10 days, group of 7. The room arrangement worked out great for us and the location was perfect for all our activities. Laura was easy to communicate with and was quick to respond. Thank you Laura! We had a great stay.
This is a great place to stay in Waimea. Beautiful setting and immaculate home. Our host left a fabulous book of information about the big island which included local favorites and must do activities. We did a lot of driving because our activities were down in Volcano National Park and in Kona, but coming back to our restful house and eating locally each evening was perfect
The three bedroom Red Ohana house was perfect for our group of three adult couples. The house is maintained in excellent condition and was open and available for the easiest check-in we have ever experienced! The house was spacious, for our group of six adults and the kitchen was fully equipped for making everything from breakfast coffee ( three different coffee pots to make regular drip coffee, K cup brewed coffee or French press coffee ) to a full evening meal if desired.
The 3br Red Ohana was a great place to stay in a good, central location. The house was as advertised; clean, comfortable, and well stocked.
We would definitely book another stay at the red ohana.
We rented the Ref Ohana 3 bedroom. It was spacious and comfortable. The beds were great. The kitchen and eating area were great for a group. The patio was beautiful. Iâd definitely stay here again.
This place has it all, comfortable beds, plenty of space, toiletries provided, plush linens and towels. Laura provides everything to make your stay in Waimea amazing. Would definitely book again.
Excellent spot for stay in Waimea on the Big Island
Stay was clean and especially enjoyed the soft beds for being on vacation. Good amenities. Only concern was the driveway into the place as an elevated area, angling the car if your car rides low should be done with care.
My husband and I got married at Anna Ranch Heritage Center in Waimea and booked both Red Ohanas for our wedding party. It was the perfect weekend and we canât thank Laura enough for a magical place to stay!
Very comfortable beds, fluff and fold + cleaning service throughout, and a fantastic location. We will definitely return in years to come :)
We stayed in the 3 bedroom/ 2 bath Red Ohana property. The home is spacious, spotless, and includes all the amenities we needed. Laura is a great hostess. Checkin was seamless- we just walked in! Location was the prime reason I chose Red Ohana. The best white sand beaches are minutes away.
The Red Ohana house was everything you could want and more. Laura checked in with us several times and was very helpful. We would stay here again every time we visit the island.
We have stayed on the Big Island many times and this was our favorite place. The house is extremely comfortable and well stocked. It is very clean and Laura is a top notch host. The location is fantastic for better restaurants in Waimea, good coffee, and ease to the North Kohala beaches.
My family had a fantastic time staying here, especially with our friendsâ family staying at the smaller house at the same time. The larger house is perfect for gathering people from both houses for dinner, making plans to see the volcano, the observatory, the beaches, or just hang out. Thereâs fresh air, quiet, and a lot of little geckos for the kids to examine. Would definitely stay here again!
At the top of my five star ratings was Laura, the property manager. She knows this island very well and readily shared her thoughts. More than a property manager, she was the best concierge for our group of Girl Scouts, moms and younger siblings.
House was as pictured- and comfortable. Had a couple blips- but these were addressed quickly. A little noise from roosters and early am car traffic. But overall had a great stay here. Easy access to everything we wanted to do- and some great restaurants right in Waimea.
Red 'Ohana has it all: a rural setting a short drive from the Kohala beaches (we preferred Spencer state park to the better known and larger Hapuna), less than 40 mins to Waipio Valley (the shuttle, the only way to get down, is definitely worth it). The house is very comfortable, awesomely well-equipped kitchen, very quiet Owner is super nice - lives a few houses away.
The home is just as advertised. Clean, roomy, comfortable, well appointed, and ideally located. The owner is a pro who is attentive and kind. If you are looking for a central location away from the resorts, the Red Ohana house is for you. Thank you Laura for making sure our stay was so memorable!
What a wonderful stay at the Red Ohana! The house was immaculate, spacious, quiet, and ideally located as we were in town for HPA graduation right across the street. Communication was top notch, and we appreciated all the amenities provided. We would love to stay at Red Ohana again if and when we make it back to Waimea. Thanks so much for making us feel like such welcome guests. Mahalo!

Red 'Ohana distinguishes itself from other vacation rentals first and foremost because of the casual elegance that you just won't find elsewhere. Our property is both spacious and private, and the O"hanas were the original Parker Ranch caretakers' quarters. Once you explore the island, you will appreciate the mild, temperate climate. The property atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful. Your access to Waimea town is a 5 minute drive and access to beautiful beaches is an easy, scenic 8 minute drive. It would be difficult to find a property with all of features and amenities for the same price elsewhere on the island. Sometimes local residents stay with us for their weekend getaway. Many parents stay with us when visiting their children who attend Hawaii Preparatory Academy and Parker Ranch School.
- Five-star luxury accommodations at lower prices than resorts - Proximity to Hawaii's best beaches, nearby attractions, and west side of the island. - Attentive, experienced concierges for property or activity needs - Strong connection to old Hawaii and historic Parker Ranch, and an active community not overcome with tourists.
