Profitez des vues imprenables sur l'océan depuis la colline en haut de la perche Sea Captain retraite donnant Kohala et Kona cÎtes. Situé dans le célÚbre Hub de Parker Ranch la ville ou Kamuela Waimea est le point central bien-aimée dans le pays du bétail verdoyante riche en histoire de l'ßle. En marge de la colline ce chùteau se trouve prÚs du sommet de la colline, avec une vaste terrasse qui facilite la vie extérieure couverte. Bien que trÚs privé avec aménagement paysager mature la maison capte habilement magnifiques couchers de soleil, vue sur l'océan et d'une montagne pour inclure Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, et Hualalai. Observation des étoiles est le premier sur une nuit claire.

This was a beautiful little cottage. Nice deck. Conveniently located for my birding outings. The property owner was friendly, helpful, and conscientious. I would gladly stay here again.

Fantastic Place to Stay

We stayed in this property for 15 days and it was one of the best places we’ve stayed in during a vacation. The view is amazing and the place feels very cozy and homey. We will definitely stay here again in the future and we highly recommend it for people who like private settings.

Cozy retreat

This property is fantastic for 2 people. The bed is huge. The kitchen is well equipped and the deck is perfect for sitting and having coffee and looking at those views. It's clean and the owner. J is very easy to work with.

This is a beautiful loft cottage with all the amenities The driveway is a real challenge, and the shower taps are tricky. Overall it’s a great space and we would recommend it highly!

This is a little hidden gem! Great location in Waimea and stunning views!! This little cottage is very quaint and comfortable! The owner is on site and is very good at communicating about the property. We would definitely stay there again!

This is It!

Grateful that we stayed at this cottage; it felt like home and a different experience than a resort hotel stay. Our favorite was being able to.sit on the balcony and enjoy the cool breeze, sunsets, and starry nights.

A nice hillside hideaway from the hustle and bustle of Big Island

A lovely quiet gem of a cottage on the hills over Waimea. We enjoyed the breezes, outdoor balcony and cosy cottage offerings. Big thanks to Captain Jay for sharing his cottage with us! We would definitely love to stay again when in the area.

Beautiful View

The house was lovely, perfect for our vacation, and the view was beautiful! We had a wonderful stay, the place had everything we needed, even for the beach. The driveway was challenging at first, but within a couple days we had it figured out. Would definitely recommend this place to stay while in Hawaii.

Quiet, centrally located

If you want glitz and glam, no. If you want a peaceful idyllic cozy place with a fantastic patio to enjoy a read or a meal on, book it! It’s centrally located to the town of Waimea and 250 which takes you up and over Kohala and the stunning north side of the Big Island.

Beautiful Setting

Waimea is a beautiful place, and this property makes the most of it. It’s high up on the hillside and feels secluded as it is surrounded be trees and tropical plants. It is quite private, but only a 5 minute drive to town. Our hosts were super accommodating and responsive. The loft is cute and comfy and has everything you need for a short or long term stay.

Great stay.

Fantastic property with very private space. Was not bothered by another person the whole 7 days we were there. I was a little concerned about the steepness of the driveway, but it was very manageable. Maybe I am too picky but it could have been a little cleaner. I would definitely stay there again if they would have me.

Quiet Place with Scenic Views

We stayed here for two nights at the beginning of a 2 week vacation over on Kauai. The property is well maintained and very clean. There are awesome views from the deck and from inside. We were very pleased with this property and the location. Having been to the Big Island a few other times, we have always loved Waimea and have talked about staying here - we're glad we chose this particular property! The location is perfect, allowing for a quick drive to town, a scenic drive to Hawi on Kohala Mountain Road or a 20 minute drive down to Hapuna Beach.

Beautiful home close to all that matters!

If you want to stay close to good restaurants and beautiful beaches but skip the busy areas such as Kona or Hilo, this is the place for you. You're 5 min away from the best restaurants in town, 15 min away from beaches with warm and clear water, and still close enough to the mountains to get some of that cool air. The neighborhood is super safe, quiet and calm! The host went above and beyond to accommodate to our schedule. And the home itself is super comfortable, clean, and unique. We loved the experience and would definitely recommend to anyone!

Lovely Setting and Relaxing

Nice place. Really like the wood ceilings and beams. The lanai was a lovely place to enjoy mornings, and the chirping birds were wonderful. The place was well supplied with bedding to accommodate any preferences of pillows or weight of blankets. The kitchen had all of the necessary equipment as well as a lovely apartment of tea and coffee. The only down was that the shower walls are a bit dirty.

Fantastic place to stsy

We absolutely loved staying here. It's quiet and secluded with a beautiful view of the ocean and quaint town of Waimea. The beaches are so close, about 15 minutes drive. The birds sing 24/7, but not annoyingly so, and we loved their singing. This studio apartment is not small, but was much larger than we expected. The kitchen is well stocked with quality kitchenware. The bathroom is large and very private with a treehouse feel. The deck is fabulous! This home is also very clean. We will definitely return.

Lovely Place!

This property is upcountry, in Kamuela. It was very breezy and peaceful. This studio loft was very comfortable. Leaving the doors open on either side made it perfect for a good nights rest. It felt as though we were sleeping in a cozy treehouse. Nature all around and wonderful views from high up in the trees. My Husband and I found it a respite from hectic day to day life, and it felt private and secluded. We enjoyed the use of the kitchenette and had several meals together there. I would welcome the thought of visiting there again. We were truly sorry to leave.

Beautiful architecture and decor. Nice deck w/tables. VERY steep driveway. No dining table inside.

Quality designed unit throughout. Well maintained. Well stocked kitchen. No inside dining table, but deck tables available. Very limited storage for clothing. My wife and 19 yr old son said they wouldn't want to attempt to drive up or down driveway. If we didn't go up carefully the wheels would spin on our front wheel drive with dry pavement. Not sure how wet would work. I liked it enough that I would be interested in buying it, but would get an AWD vehicle.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Captain's Quarters! The cottage was very beautifully set-up & so clean. We had lots of privacy. The outside deck area was nicely covered so we could sit outside even if there was a little rain. Situated close to our favorite beach, morning swims were no problem. We can't say enough about how much we loved our stay...our new island home away from home, can't wait to go back!

Jay and Diane are long time residents of the Big Island and have raised two Sons in Waimea. The Big Island is a great place to enjoy the outdoors.

The peaceful location in the center of town offers so many advantages. The location is perfect for long walks, convenience to shops and restaurants and has a relaxing vibe.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

Waimea has a lot of micro climates and the dry side of Waimea is often desired. It frequently rains daily which keeps the hillsides green but there is a magical quality about watching the sky at night when the sun sets. We fell in love with this unique cottage. The owners live on property in the main house.
