House is perfect, had everything we needed. Views are beautiful an had ponies on property daily. Having the pool was really nice too. The beach was amazing and water crystal clear. Can't wait to come back.

An absolute gem located amongst the 4x4 beaches in beautiful Cavova!This was the second stay at the Weathervane for my wife and I. Just as relaxing and wonderful as the first. Horses stopping by all but every day...beautiful sunrises over the ocean and gorgeous sunsets to the West. Well appointed and absolutely spotless on check-in! Laura is absolutely fantastic - easily one of the best hosts you'll find here! Excellent communication, coupled with a very well curated beach house that feels like a home away from home. If you are looking to visit the 4x4 beaches in the Northern Outer Banks, and want to experience a feeling of relaxation you'll never find in Nags Head, look no further.

We loved our time at the Weathervane. The house was very nice and stocked with everything we needed. The location was amazing and we really appreciated the quick walk to the beach. We saw so many wild horses during our stay and the people in the immediate area were extremely friendly. My only complaint were the annoying biting flies on our last beach day. Definitely bring bug spray or you’ll get eaten alive

It's a marvel to see them out there. We are sorry the biting flies found you on your last day—a shift in the wind can definitely bring them out, so packing bug spray is a fantastic tip for future guests! The Weathervane is located in the North Swan Beach part of Carova. I love that section of the beach since it is far enough up to have fewer people AND it is typically the widest part of the beach. So you feel very secluded! The Weathervane home is beautifully outfitted and so well cared for. Vacationing there means you get a winning combination, great beach AND a great house!!

Family vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had an amazing time at the Weathervane! The house was perfectly set up for our family of five. The views were amazing from the decks and from windows in all the rooms. We all enjoyed the large porches (even the dogs) horses passed by every day pretty much either by the house or on the beach. The beach was easily accessible from the house walking or driving. Pool was nice and refreshing after the hot beach days. Rooms were clean and kitchen had everything we needed. It definitely fit all our needs and wants. We would definitely stay again! There really is no house next to you as well when your enjoying your pool, so it’s nice and private as well ( your not sharing a backyard with anyone else over a fence or anything) which is a nice bonus.

Great place for the family

Reviewer Comments: Very nice house, easy walk to beach, nice pool, MUST HAVE 4 wheel drive WITH GOOD CLEARANCE. We watched car after car, and trucks get stuck going over dune to street. Remember house is a little further down beach. House is well equipped. We did find previous tenants box with dirty dishes and snacks in kids closet. Pool service was performed, but did not put any water in pool, which seemed a little low by end of week. Overall, great house and we saw horses about everyday. Horses even found us while we were at the beach. We would definitely stay again!

Shoulder season at OBX. Less crowds and more relaxation. House was perfect. Everyone enjoyed and we look forward to our next trip. Property manager was great we left a shirt and they mailed it to us.

Great House! Great Vacation

Booking and check in process super simple and easy. House was clean and beautiful. No issues. We spent a lot of time on the beach, loved driving to the beach. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. Horses were in the backyard a few times which was super exciting. Would definitely stay again!

Best Property Rental!!!

My husband and I stayed here for my 30th birthday and thoroughly enjoyed everything The Weathervane had to offer!!!! So much so, we added an extra night to our stay upon our arrival. The pool was amazing! The location was perfect! The house was clean and well maintained! We had many horse encounters on the property at all hours of the day. I still can’t believe this was available for us to book a last minute trip but we are so thankful and don’t think there could’ve been a better house for our 5 night getaway! We will definitely be back!!

Magical place!

Our second stay in the Weathervane wonderful. The management was always quick to respond and go above and beyond for their guests. The house is well stocked and very comfortable. Our favorite spot was the screen porch where we played games and ate every meal while looking at the ocean and the horses in our yard. We absolutely love this house and the entire area. The horses and the beach make this a magical place. We will be back!
