We do not live onsite but are available via phone, text or booking app platform to help with questions or issue. The cabin is available for check-in 24 hours a day with a custom door code provided during the booking process.
The secluded 4-acre property is equidistance (30 minutes) between the small towns of Blue Ridge and Ellijay where you will find a number of things to do year round! Plentiful walking/biking trails, waterfalls, tubing, and white water rafting, quaint shops and downtown eateries, multiple vineyards, and local arts & crafts. Festivals are held year-round and are fun for all ages. Fishing, Biking, 4-wheeling adventures await.
The CampAway is approximately 4 acres and houses two 1/bed 1/bath cabins - The Big Dipper Cabin and The Little Dipper Cabin. The cabins are connected via gravel driveways or hiking trails and are approximately 60 yards apart and separated by elevation and trees. Guests of both cabins have access to the Tickanetley Creek via hiking trails. The hike down to the creek from the cabins takes approximately 5-10 minutes via dirt and rock trails and should be a moderate hike for most children and adults. These are true hiking trails and may not be suitable for everyone. Being true mountain cabins, pests and bugs may sometimes make their way into the cabin even though we do spray and inspect monthly to keep them outside.

Perched on four wooded acres with private creek access and backed by the Chattahoochee National Forest, The Big Dipper Cabin is a quiet, camp-style escape designed for couples who want to unplug and slow down. Guests love the stillness here â the sound of the creek below, fire-lit evenings, and the feeling of being tucked deep in the woods while still an easy drive to Ellijay and Blue Ridge.
Inside, the cabin is intentionally simple â grounded, warm, and thoughtfully lived-in. Vintage camp character blends with modern comfort, centered around a massive stone fireplace, relaxed seating, and a well-stocked kitchen meant for slow mornings and shared meals. Itâs the kind of place where you can just pause - conversation lingers, time softens, and quiet hours are spent padding across wooden floors.
Outside, winter settles in gently. Gather around one of three fireplaces â indoors, on the covered porch, or by the firepit beneath dark, open amber skies. Follow the wooded path down to Tickanetley Creek, where the water moves steadily and quietly. In January and February, guests are sometimes surprised by light snow flurries drifting through the trees â fleeting, beautiful moments that feel almost borrowed.
Whether weather be the frost, youâre sipping coffee on the porch, listening to vinyl by the fire, or ending the night beneath the stars, The Big Dipper invites you to slow your pace and stay awhile â reconnecting with the season, the setting, and each other.

âWe left feeling refreshed, relaxed, and recharged.â
âKrista was an exceptional host â thoughtful, responsive, and easy to communicate with.â
âEverything was exactly as described and incredibly well cared for.â
âThe bed was incredibly comfortable, and our favorite moments were the fire-lit evenings playing games and unwinding together.â
âThis was our second stay, and it wonât be our last.â
Everything you need is within a 20-45 minute beautiful scenic drive. You can explore so many small mountain towns from the cabins - Ellijay, Blue Ridge, McCaysville, Blairsville, Dawsonville & Dahlonega.
DRIVING: Last 0.5 miles of road to cabin is unpaved and bumpy at times, super low riding vehicles are NOT recommended and large recreational vehicles are NOT allowed. Print out driving instructions to and from the cabin and plan to check-in before dark.
DOGS: Dogs are WELCOME! We love our fur babies, but this property allows a maximum of two dogs and the fee is $75 per stay. Please, clean paws only in the house and if you would like to snuggle with your dog on the couch, please use the dog blanket to lay on the furniture. Additional cleaning fee may be applied for excessive shedding.
CELL SERVICE: You will lose cell service approximately 15 minutes away from the cabin (based on carrier) with some random spots along the way. You can log into WiFi once in the cabins and enable WiFi calling and send/receive text messages and emails. A landline phone is provided at the cabin and the phone number is sent along with check-in instructions.
LOFTED BEDROOM: There are no walls or doors that separate the lofted sleeping area from the living space on the main floor. This cabin would not be suitable for guests who would like privacy in sleeping quarters. Would be ideal for a small family with kids older than 5 years old.
