Nice house with great hosts. Warm and welcoming and had good recommendations for the area. Beautiful, semi-private outdoor space.
Be prepared for spiders because it is in the country. But overall, cleanliness was good for the living and bedrooms.
Nicely renovated little century old farm house. Cozy, clean, and quiet. The location was perfect for visiting relatives in the Roscoe area. The property is so beautifully kept with lovely views of the bucolic landscape and the owners are a delight. If we are in that area again this will be the first place I look for to stay.
This was our second time staying in the guest house at Wind Ridge Herb Farm, and we enjoyed it just as much as the first! The farm is beautiful, and Tony and Liz are amazing hosts! They are so kind, friendly, and welcoming, and once again they took the time to share their animals with our children (ages 7 and 3). The kids loved seeing the animals and playing in the gardens around the guest house. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return next year!
We had a little lovely weekend. The house is located on an idealic farm surrounded by beautiful gardens. It was very peaceful and serene. The house was comfortable and met our needs. It was well decorated but not at lot of things we had to worry about our 1.5 year getting into. Great experience.
We loved our stay at the farm! The hosts could not have been more welcoming. My daughter loved meeting the animals. The house is cozy and comfortable. It was very hot when we visited but the air conditioning kept up. We loved the location because it was quiet and remote but close enough to be able to go into town for a meal. One thing worth mentioning is that the queen bedroom in the attic was up a steep set of stairs with no banister. It wasnât an issue for us but it may be for others. We hope to visit again.
The hosts were nice, house cute and location great. The problem we ran into was with water.
After we arrived, the host warned us about low water pressure. The water pressure is so low the shower consists of two tiny streams, definitely not enough to get a whole body wet at once. Our last morning, while one of us was showering, water backed up in the toilet. The rest of us went to town to find a bathroom.
We wonât return because of what we thought to be inadequate plumbing, annd itâs unfortunate because otherwise, this is a nice place.
This was one of the best experiences I've had with Homeaway. This little farmhouse is nestled between farm fields and giant cottonwood trees. We were treated like royalty by our wonderful hosts, Tony and Liz!! They took us for a tour of there beautiful farm. They have rescue miniature ponys, a couple of horses, miniature chickens and ducks and 4 gorgeous golden retrievers! They also grow fresh herbs and sell their organic dips and teas. Awesome!! We spoke with Liz and Tony several times and they were very informative and knowledgeable about the area.
The house itself was loaded with antiques, beautifully decorated and very functional. It is an older farmhouse so the water pressure drops when the owners are watering the greenhouse but they let you know in advance. We are a family of 4 and there was plenty of room for us. We slept wonderfully, beds are comfy. There was wifi and we streamed movies without a problem. Really an exceptional experience and we can't wait to return this summer and see all the gardens in full bloom!!
The guesthouse was great for our family of 6. Nice, clean, quiet and great property with owners that are willing to do anything they can to ensure an enjoyable experience. They even took time out of their busy day to show us their critters and let the kids pet their horses. Would highly recommend.
We were in town for a lacrosse tournament. Hotels were booked so I searched VRBO and found the guest house at Wind Ridge Herb Farm and I'm so glad I did. By far, the most peaceful and quiet accommodation we have ever had, and the house is spacious. We were able to wander around the farm enjoying the gardens and animals in the fields. Tony and Liz were more than happy to give us a tour of their barns and let us meet the farm animals. They were very accommodating and ensured that we had everything we would need or wanted, including breakfast! We would definitely return to the farm in the future. Loved it!
We had a very relaxing stay. The weather was perfect to sit outside under the lovely trees. Tony showed us around the farm and the kids loved playing in the yard. Short distance to bike trail and Rockford sights. Madison zoo is only an hour away and free. We also took a day trip to beautiful Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, Wisconsin which was 45 minutes from the farm. We enjoyed our stay very much.
