In 18 minutes, you can reach West Jefferson, which features a quaint downtown area with the Old Barn Winery, a famous doughnut shop, and local shopping and dining options. Lorien is also 25 minutes from Tweetsie Railroad and Appalachian State University, 6 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway, 30 minutes from Blowing Rock, and 30 minutes from Wilkesboro, home of the renowned annual Merlefest festival. This makes Lorien a fantastic place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring the wonders of the High Country.

Lorien offers mountain-modern comfort with thoughtful design throughout, creating a fun yet relaxing atmosphere. Enjoy the outdoor wood-burning fire pit, a family room with a ping-pong table, and arcade games that entertain all ages. The main-level living space features an open floor plan, with a leather sofa, a gas fireplace, and a mounted TV, surrounded by walls of windows. The dining area and kitchen island provide ample seating for everyone to dine together, while the kitchen boasts beautiful granite counters and high-end stainless steel appliances. Outside, a large deck includes a gas grill, an outdoor dining table, and additional seating, overlooking seasonal views of wooded and mountainous areas.

The main-floor master bedroom has a queen bed, a TV, deck access, and a private bathroom with a stunning tiled step-in shower. A second master bedroom on the main level has a king bed, a TV, deck access, and its own private bathroom. There's also a third main-level bedroom featuring a queen bed, a TV, and a hallway bathroom. Additionally, the main floor offers a quiet office space with a desk, computer monitor, and a comfortable modern desk chair.

Downstairs, the family room provides extra space to spread out, complete with a ping-pong table, arcade games, a TV area, and a wet bar with a sink and beverage chiller. Enjoy lovely views from the downstairs king bedroom and find a fifth bedroom with two twin beds. The expansive lower-level deck is fully covered, ensuring it stays dry year-round, and a staircase leads down from the lower deck to the private yard's fire pit.

Lorien features a spacious, level gravel parking area with just one step to the covered front entrance. During the winter months (October to March), we strongly recommend a 4-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive vehicle, and chains may be necessary in snowy or icy conditions.
