**THE RETREAT PROPERTY**

When you turn into the private graveled driveway, you will see The Bear Necessities Cabin to the left near the brow, along with your own private parking area (2 cars max). Two small vehicles or 2 motorcycles fit nicely in the carport or one larger SUV/truck.

There is a graveled walkway to the cabin's entrance from the parking area, and you will pass the homeowner's small workshop. There are only 2 steps leading on to the front porch of the one-level cabin, and to the back of the cabin, there is a no-stairs option with a walking ramp leading to the back porch and covered hot tub deck.

Stepping inside the front door, you will know your peaceful retreat has begun as you are surrounded by that familiar knotty pine. The living area has a sofa with reclining ends, and there is a separate recliner as well, offering very comfortable lounge seating for up to 4 Guests. There is a corner gas-log fireplace to enjoy on cool mornings when you're in the living room, and there is 32" Roku TV and very fast Wi-Fi for streaming your own channel subscriptions. The lamps have USB and Type-C charging ports.

There is a dining table that can be moved to the center of the room and 4 saddleback stools. In the kitchen, you will appreciate the thoughtfulness of the homeowners, as there are granite countertops, stainless appliances and more than "bear necessities" for your getaway :) There is a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, electric water kettle, toaster, blender, cooking pots, can opener, pans and utensils, dishes, drinking glasses, wine glasses, eating utensils, cooking spices, coffee mugs, and more!

Moving through the cabin, there is a sliding pocket door that leads to a bonus room, consisting of an adorable Reading Nook and Loft Bunk Bed. The Reading Nook offers a comfortable area to read your favorite book, and a ladder leads to the loft bunk bed. With twin mattresses, these spaces provide extra sleeping space for the third and fourth guests. This bonus room has a door leading into the full bathroom.

Through the bonus room, there is another door that leads to the primary bedroom. There are comforts such as a queen bed with a Sweetnight 12 in. Medium Memory Foam Hybrid Pillow Top Mattress, along with a ceiling fan, end tables, and wardrobe for storing your clothes. The lamps have USB and Type-C charging ports, and there is a 32" Roku TV. This bedroom also has a door leading into the full bathroom. In the bathroom, there is a toilet, sink, and 36x36 custom-tiled shower with a rainfall shower head and hand shower.

Back in the living room, there is a side door that leads to the hot tub and covered deck area. The hot tub can seat up to 4 registered guests. This space is designed for responsible adults and only mature children, monitored at all times. There is a Bluetooth Stereo Speaker System to softly play your favorite music from your smart phone and string lights for evenings. A small bistro table and 2 chairs for al fresco dining is also located on the covered deck...another perfect setting for enjoying a fresh cup of coffee or hot tea in the morning.

Near the covered deck, there is a rock fire pit with 4 comfortable Adirondack chairs. You are welcomed to use any small pieces of fallen wood from the property that can safely fit inside the fire pit, and firewood bundles are sold at nearby stores. Please only burn firewood, as the homeowners and guests roast food over this fire pit. Extendable roasters are located in the kitchen for your convenience, so be sure to bring ingredients for s'more memories :)

Soak Up the View

...cannot say enough about the view from the hottub. After a long day of hiking the local nature features, the hottub provides the perfect winddown as you soak away the soreness and soak in the views. House is nice and neat , checkin simple leaving it behind was hard lok

Serene Cabin with best view of the sunset

We used this site quite abit and this is one of the best places we ever booked. Top notch amenities and the owners provide you with so much and more. The cabin is located in a very quiet and serene place overlooking Fort Payne. We loved sitting in the hot tub taking it all in. We had plans to do things in the area but cancelled over half of them because we enjoyed just being at this cabin. From the views to the furniture (reclining couch and very comfy bed) to amenities galore. We would definitely book again when in the area or just needing a quiet body and mind recharging place to stay for a few days.

Perfect!

This little cabin was perfect for me and my 2 kids, 11 and 12. We enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit. The surroundings were peaceful and beautiful. Misti was super responsive and offered restaurant suggestions (The Hatter Cafe and Wildflower Cafe were fantastic). We especially enjoyed the sunset view from the hot tub each evening. The beds were extremely comfortable! We would like to come back in the summer or fall to see the colors.

Perfect little getaway

We loved everything about this cabin. Beautiful, quaint, and perfectly located on the brow of the mountain! The bedding and towels smelled so fresh and clean, the two mini-split air units kept the entire space warm and cozy, and the welcome basket was a nice surprise! We will definitely be back!
