Canyon View Retreat - Cadre tranquille, maison entiĂšrement Adobe avec vues et bain Ă  remous

Ce classique de deux chambres en adobe est niché dans les collines du quartier historique de Cerro Gordo, à seulement trois kilomÚtres de la Plaza et à 1,6 km de Canyon Road. Ses caractéristiques traditionnelles incluent une cheminée kiva, des murs en pisé apparents, des carreaux mexicains, des sols en briques et de magnifiques vigas. Les doubles portes françaises s'ouvrent sur le patio et chacune de nos chambres.  Il est idéal pour profiter tranquillement de la jolie vue sur la montagne, des boutiques et des restaurants sur la route voisine de Canyon Road, ou se détendre aprÚs le ski ou la randonnée dans les sentiers de Dale Ball à proximité.

L'entrée est escarpée et peut nécessiter un véhicule à 4 roues motrices en hiver.
La maison est exposĂ©e Ă  la montagne, la climatisation n’est donc pas nĂ©cessaire tant que les ventilateurs de plafond sont utilisĂ©s.

Santa Fe vacation

We enjoyed staying at this property. Very clean and well appointed. It is an easy drive to the Plaza from the residence. I do believe that the lighting is not adequate in the tv room however and needs to be improved. We would stay there again.

Just right

This property is a little gem. Very clean and comfortable with spectacular views. The hammock and hot tub perfectly complete the Santa Fe experience. Host provided complimentary chips and salsa which were enjoyed one afternoon over card games at the table on the veranda in the afternoon shade. Doesn’t get any better!

Canyon retreat was awesome

You are staying out of town very near trailheads for hiking so be prepared for a challenging driveway. Once you are there you won’t want to leave as the Mountain View is mesmerizing! The house is well stocked and the beds were very comfortable. We cooked several meals and had all the equipment needed, including a blender. There are 2 options for dining in or out. As birdwatchers we were very excited by our many bird sightings- many fruit trees on property appreciated by the wildlife. Hot tub up a steep hill but clean and feels very private.highly recommend this property.

Great house despite a few issues

I would’ve given this property a five star rating had it not been for a few issues that I experienced with the house, some of which were completely out of everyone’s control. The house is very comfortable, well furnished/decorated, great location, and terrific view. In fact I’d probably stay there again. The issues that I had were that I didn’t realize that this house did not have air conditioning (I assume this was a standard feature for homes in NM at his price point) and it was very hot our first night. After contacting the property manager they brought over a portable cooling unit which helped. The second issue we encountered was that there was a lightning storm that took out the only TV in the house the first night. I had to contact the property manager on this too and they fixed it the next day. The third issue, which I didn’t contact the property manager about because I didn’t want to be annoying having contacted them several times already, is that the hot tub water was a greenish color. Because I really wanted to try out the hot tub I got in anyway and you could tell that the water was not right. Like I said overall this is a great place and the issues mentioned are/were easily fixed.

My Husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Canyon View Retreat. The kitchen is fully equipped and the house very comfortable. Having breakfast at the Veranda a deer came to visit us a few times. The trailheads were easy to find, and we made it to the top of Picacho. (we are 84 and 86). We also went to the opera, what a delight. We definitely can recommend the CVR

Great location if you love views and wildlife

The house was stocked with everything needed to feel comfortable. We did have issues with the hot tub and and the water had a yellowish tint, but I think it's because it might be well water. Other than that, great house, amazing fireplace, great views, responsive host, and convenient location to town.

Charming hide away

If you love nature this is the perfect home in the summer. The hammock, hot tub games were great child pleasers. There are two wonderful playgrounds and good hiking trails nearby. Thank you..we may be back!

Beautiful and peaceful setting

What an amazing home and location! My spouse and I lived in Santa Fe from 1999-2004 and returned this past week with our teenage sons to show them our former home. It was a memorable trip for that reason but staying at this property made it all the more special. We started and ended every day soaking in that view and felt so peaceful and relaxed throughout our stay. The location is perfect for exploring both the mountains and the downtown and we loved how much thought went into the design of this green home. Thanks again!

So much more than expected!!

This house was fantastic! As others have mentioned, there are some treats from the host waiting for you when you arrive. We are a family of 6, and there was plenty of room for us all. The grounds are beautiful are serene. We all enjoyed spending time outside - either in the hammock, walking to the hiking trails, sitting on the porch, eating dinner outside, or stargazing from the hot tub. The location is so great for getting to various parts of town, and just hanging out at the house was awesome, too! Thank you for a great stay. We will definitely return!! One comment: the kitchen is so stocked with kitchen items that there wasn’t really storage for them pantry-type food we brought, but the refrigerator has plenty of space for cold items.

A great place to stay in Santa Fe

The location was ideal for our first extended stay in Santa Fe. It’s only 10 minutes from the square but right next to the trails we wanted to hike. The Dale Ball trails made me want to go back and get my bike! The house is quiet and comfortable. Most times are provided (bring aluminum foil and oils if you want to cook). The two main bedrooms are on separate ends of the house. If you plan on using the den as a bedroom know that it contains the TV and anyone in the main bedroom has to walk through the room to get to the kitchen area. The hot tub area is great, private and comfortable. Our host provided wine and chips when we checked in.

We enjoyed our stay! We were welcomed with chips and salsa, water and wine. This was the perfect greeting after a travel day! Everything was great about the property. It was clean and had everything we needed to be comfortable with young children.

Relaxing Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Santa Fe.. The house was perfectly situated right off the canyon trails, and we enjoyed exploring the area. The decor was beautiful. From the tile work, to the wonderful pieces of art/pottery, and the numerous genres of books, we very much appreciated all of the details in the house. The welcome goodies, well appointed kitchen, and custom toiletries were perfect additions for our stay. Views from the hot tub deck, and from all of the open French doors were amazing. We had an early flight out after our stay, and the sunrise isn't to be missed!

The location is great - just 2 miles from town with beautiful hiking and biking trails literally at the end of the driveway. View from house is great. Extremely private. House could use some furnishing and decorating TLC/updating.
