Mark and Ericâs home is beautiful and was perfect for our familyâs week long stay. Everything was excellent: terrific kitchen; great light filled living areas with great stereo and views east to the City downtown; off street parking; outdoor porches and gardens; and very comfortable and well appointed bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms. Features of this wonderful home aside, it is just an exceptional home and made our family retreat special and totally enjoyable. Thanks Mark and Eric for such a terrific stay. And thanks to Rob, who welcomed us and was responsive to our every request and query.
Our 2 week stay in the Castro exceeded our expectations. Daily excursions in the community and to the city were safe and full of warm and pleasant people. Particularly enjoyed our experience with the hosts and our concierge. Our accommodations were fantastic and their renovation well done. This trip, the community and our hosts will always be remembered by our family.
We spent a week at this beautiful home on a work/leisure combo trip. From the initial booking and throughout our stay, Mark and Eric were gracious hosts. Their attention to detail and great communication ensured we had a seamless stay.
The home is it a fantastic location, just a few blocks from the heart of the Castro, and walkable to multiple other neighborhoods and transit options. And the house - my goodness - in addition to being clean, spacious, and well appointed, the artful and interesting decor will blow you away. We could have used another week just to take it all in!
Highly recommend this property!
Opted to rent this property versus a hotel for a week long business trip in SF, and so glad we did! The owners have done an amazing job modernizing their Victorian while keeping the overall character of the home in tact. The home was well stocked and the owners provided everything we could need. The highlight was definitely the steam shower and bath which was perfect after a couple long nights in the office. The area was quiet which made for relaxing morning coffee in the beautifully landscaped backyard, but just a short walk to bustling Castro. Communication was also excellent from the time of booking to checkout.
If you're considering a week long trip in SF don't hesitate on booking this home for your stay, you won't be disappointed!
Everything and more in an exquisite home filed with life, color and joy.
We were a family of four with specific needs as our family member was having surgery at nearby UCSF. I wanted a house, not a hotel, so it would feel like home and It was perfect.
We had a safe parking space, and room to each have our privacy.
Cute cafes and shopping was a pleasant walk away.
The healing, beautifully tended quiet garden outside the kitchen, where we would drink coffee, meditate in the mornings and have a glass of wine in the evening as the sun set .
We sunned on the upstairs balcony wooden benches.
At night, we watched clouds fly past and felt the wind rustle in the Japanese trees, as we slept peacefully without the usual city nosies.
Gorgeous Sanctuary space!
We watched Netflix with an entire view of the twinkling downtown area and the bay behind it.
It truly felt like our own healing home.
Some VRBOs have a little sugar and salt, this lovely home is the owners home and they live there, so they offered us most everything!
Incredibly well appointed.
Lots of fun books to read, games to play.
They welcomed us with groceries, wine coffee, and the best scones in SF.
I could gush on and on about this special, loving home and Eric and mark. I feel like theyâre family now too.
And any questions, Rob was there to help out.
We needed a team to get through this unexpected ordeal and this soothing, lovely jewel on the hill was the perfect place.
This home was wonderful. Everything you see in the pictures is accurate and even better. Mark and Eric and Rob are excellent hosts. Your only challenge will be deciding whether to do your morning yoga in the mosaiq garden (designed by architect who was featured in the NYTimes) or on your private upstairs balcony. This is forevermore our âgo toâ spot in San Francisco.
Eric An Mark were exceptional hosts , the house is truly amazing and the photos don't do it justice, the house is so much more that it looks in the pictures. San Francisco is a beautiful place and having the chance to stay in someones home as nice as this was the icing on the cake , thanks again , we'll be back xx
This property didnât have many prior reviews nor future bookings which, for us, is a determining factor in choosing a place. So I wanted to put in a good word for the lovely couple that owns this home. I believe they only began loaning out their home a year or so ago & actually move out for a rental. Weâve stayed @ many vrboâs, both domestic & International & thus far, this has been our favorite. Eric & Mark literally left the entire house, including a fully equipped & stocked kitchen @ our disposal & were such gracious hosts that we felt more like neighbors than renters. We were allowed to park a car in their driveway yet the Castro Muni station is only a short walk away. Having an extra bedroom that they use as a den which has as a pull out couch came in handy for weekend guests & there was more than the usual comfy chairs & a sectional for 5+ people to comfortably sit in the living room. This is an artsy home & itâs bright colors & fun imagery made us smile. Donât hesitate to jump on a chance to stay in this lovely & clearly well loved Castro home!
The house was immaculate and beautiful! Eric and Mark were so easy to speak with and their concierge, Rob, was most helpful and kind. The neighborhood was vibrant, with several restaurants where we enjoyed delectable meals. There were a number of shops to explore up and down Castro St. as well and the MUNI station wasn't far at all. In all, a most delightful and serendipitous find for two retired nurses and their husbands!
This house is a true gem. Every detail special and personal. We used the kitchen a lot, overlooking the terraced garden. Comfortable master bedroom facing garden. SF city views from the other rooms.
Due to the hills of SF houses sit on slopes - which leaves free space and no peeking in between neighbours. The whole house is clean and pretty. Area is quiet, no disturbances, i e good sleep. 2 blocks to basic shops and restaurants plus trolley.
A one of a kind retreat where you can feel at home.

We are a gay male couple in our 60's. We have an eclectic art collection and some erotic art. Let us know if that's an issue and we can accommodate .
This is our home and not a full time rental property, so we are very careful to screen all inquiries before we accept a rental.
